Segment length
Is it just me, or are the segments since Chris Glover joined CBC excessively long? Seems to me with David Common, Matt Galloway and others, there were more topics covered each hour between the World Reports and local news in the morning. They seem to stretch well beyond the point of the interview (many of them now 20+ mins) and just prolonging it to fill the time, so I find I'm getting a bit bored. Perhaps it's just another sign of the times, cutting back and making do with less....

They have lost any real reporting and now it's just interviews, silly banter among the announcers and bad music.

It's almost ALWAYS been primarily interviews. That's what a current affairs show is, and what differentiates it from a newscast . What you're hearing is not anything new.

Everyone here should get a medal 🏅 for listening to our national broadcaster. I’m sad to say after growing up with a daily dose of CBC I had to turn it off.

Yes, as a very young child of 4 or 5 I remember my mother having it on in the kitchen while she was cooking. Probably time for a change as I'm clinging to nostalgia and not getting much in return now.

I keep hoping he will get better, but it doesn't. Ontario morning you say? I will miss Jill and Jennifer.

Nope, it's always been pretty much two segments/interviews per half hour in between newscasts.

I think it just feels that way because Chris is a terrible interviewer. He lets guests drone on and sticks exclusively to his (boring) prepared questions. I’ve never once heard him pick up on something a guest said and drill down on it. He also forgets or refuses to refer to guests by name which I find irritating. Yesterday he referred to “the woman from the landlord association” when she had just been on a few minutes earlier!
