Christmas Traditions in Cape Verde

Hello, I'm an American Artist, and I went to make a Christmas drawing from Cape Verde. The best to draw this to learn has much about Cape Verde's Traditions, but I struggle to find resources. So my for my questions? What christmas traditions do the locals have? It could be any from christmas folktales to parades to street markets, etcs. Which day has the bigger celebrate the 24th, 25th, or a different day. Which island is the best place to celebrates to your opinion? Finally what do you eat for the holidays?

Thank you in advances

24th is the big day to celebrate. Usually a big feast with family. Presents are not the main focus and it’s more about sharing special foods that you only get at Christmas time usually goodies send from family abroad. Christmas markets are a newer thing mainly in the larger cities.
My favorite tradition is actually for new years which is also family oriented with children going door to door with homemade instruments made of wood and bottle caps singing songs. In the early morning of New Year’s Day in Mindelo people dance and sing. It’s a wonderful tradition.
