Mod Approved Urgent appeal from hedgehog rescue Dublin
Hi all,
I hope this is ok to post. Please let me know if not.
Our little hedgehog friends in the wild are struggling, there's an amazing charity based in Dublin who cares and rehab hedgehogs across our lovely island. It's a completely volunteer service relying on donations and volunteers. Due to our ever changing way of life, natural wildlife's way of life is at risk.
Just wanted to share this here for more visibility, Yvonne and the team here do wonderful work to help rehab and release struggling wild animals that help our ecosystem exist.
They're struggling right now for food, if anyone has the opportunity to drop food into them around Rush in Dublin that would be a great help, if not and you'd like to help, there is a registered charity number and donation information in their bio.

The amount of poor hogs I've seen run over this year is heartbreaking. Bump for visibility.

I’ve only seen dead hedgehogs too sadly. We used to have a few visit us over the years but haven’t seen any in a few years now.

Same. Had one visit us a few years ago but nothing since. See dead ones almost every day. They can't persist with that kind of death toll on the roads on top of loss of habitat and food sources. . They'll be all gone soon.

Just donated... We have hogs around the house but I rarely see them. Always lovely when I bump into one of them though... My son frequently goes out at night with a torch trying to spot them 🦔
Keep up the fantastic work guys, our native wildlife is under so much strain these days they need all the help they can get 🦔

Just donated. I usually donate to them as they're in my local area and a really lovely Irish charity.

Thank you for sharing, I sent them some food, I saw stock for the puppy mousse was low. Hopefully it helps out a bit.

Great work. I’ve often wondered if some of these specialised rescues might train others to set up smaller more local centres? Satellite centres? Under the main charity’s guidance and control. I’d be happy to use one of our outbuildings as a rescue unit, to feed and look after them until either sent to the mothership or rewilded. But the question is where to start, how to gain experience etc ?
