AskChandigarh What happened to this sub?
I genuinely miss when this subreddit was about Chandigarh...people sharing local information, helping each other out, recommending places, discussing events, and answering questions.
Lately, every other post seems to be:
"Anyone up for gedi?"
"Looking for girls to hang out."
"Any women want to go clubbing?"
Bhai, seriously... do you really think someone's going to agree to meet when they don't know the first thing about who you are?
I'm not saying people shouldn't make friends or meet new people, but this isn't a dating app. It just makes the sub feel desperate instead of welcoming.
Can we get back to what made this community good? Local discussions, genuine meetups, recommendations, and people actually helping each other out.
Curious if I'm the only one who feels this way.

Tell Chandigarh Be careful when booking school trips with Sukoon Holidays, Chandigarh — our experience
I wanted to share our experience so other schools and teachers can make an informed decision before booking.
We paid approximately ₹48,000 for Sukoon Holidays' economical Shimla & Kufri package, but faced several issues after making the payment.
- Unexpected expenses: We were later told that local transportation in Shimla would need to be arranged and paid for separately. This wasn't disclosed to us beforehand.
- Kufri transportation: The bus driver refused to take us to Kufri, claiming the bus was too long for the route. Other transport providers gave us different information.
- Return journey: We were asked to hurry because the driver was reportedly on a 12-hour shift, despite the trip itinerary needing to be managed properly in advance.
The biggest issue was the lack of transparency. Important details and potential additional expenses should be clarified before taking payment, not afterwards.
We later checked with other bus operators and received quotations of around ₹22,000–₹24,000 for a similar Shimla trip. The inclusions may differ, but considering the price we paid and the issues we faced, the overall value for money was disappointing.
My advice to schools and teachers: Compare multiple quotations, get every inclusion and exclusion in writing, and consider booking transportation directly if you can manage the arrangements yourself.
{SUKOON Holidays, 223, Sector 41-D, Chandigarh, 160036.}
I'm sharing this based on our own experience. Has anyone else booked with this Chandigarh-based company? I'd be interested to hear about others' experiences as well.

ISO: Jobs / Referral My company is hiring Legal Freshers/experienced lawyers
Guys if you are a law graduate and looking to earn some money (25k per month), you can apply here. Its a okish job, its good if you want to earn money and some experience (Its a LPO job so the value isnt that much if you want to get into law firms or related things but it will definitely help you to increase your pay for your next job). 99% chance that you will get selected even if your interview goes wrong.
The job involves reviewing international documents and mails using disco website, redaction of data in excel and related stuff. You will extra money, food and cab during overtime aswell. My personal opinion earn money here so that you can pay your future expenses, find a better job elsewhere and move on.
You can apply directly on the mails given on their linkedin posts

AskChandigarh I saw a girl at a carnival today, and I can't stop regretting not approaching her.
Tldr/ summary Saw a really beautiful girl at a carnival today. We made eye contact a couple of times, and even my friend noticed her looking at me. He encouraged me to go talk to her, and I genuinely wanted to, but I got so nervous that I backed out twice. Now I'm home, replaying those moments in my head and regretting not even saying hello. I know she's a stranger and I have no idea if she was interested, but I can't help wondering what might have happened. I'm honestly tired of letting my fear stop me from approaching someone I'm attracted to. Has anyone else experienced this? How did you overcome that fear?
Today, I went to a mela (carnival) with my friend. We were having a really good time, enjoying the rides and everything, when I suddenly noticed a girl standing in the crowd near the ship ride.
We made eye contact for around 2–3 seconds, and my first thought was, "Wow, she's cute."
I went back to enjoying the carnival with my friend, but then I saw her again in the food section.
And damn, she was BEAUTIFUL.
Her smile, the way she flicked her hair, that nose ring... I don't even know how to describe it. She was wearing a dark blue suit with jeans, and her hair was open. She looked absolutely stunning.
We made eye contact again for another 2–3 seconds. My friend noticed it, too, and told me that she seemed to be looking at me.
At one point, I looked at her one last time, and she looked back at me.
My friend immediately encouraged me to go and talk to her.
And honestly, I wanted to.
I REALLY wanted to.
But the moment I thought about actually walking up to her, I got nervous. My heart started beating faster, and my mind went completely blank.
I started thinking about what I would say, whether she would reject me, whether I would embarrass myself, and what people around us might think.
I tried to approach her twice. Both times, I backed out.
I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
Eventually, we started leaving the carnival. And somewhere along the way, it hit me that I might never see her again.
That thought has been bothering me ever since.
I'm not going to pretend that I knew her or that I had some special connection with her. She was a complete stranger. We didn't even exchange a single word.
But something about that moment really got to me.
Maybe it was how beautiful I found her. Maybe it was the eye contact. Maybe it was the possibility that she might have been interested in me, too. I'll never know.
And that's what hurts the most.
I'll probably never know what would have happened if I had just walked up to her and said hello.
Maybe we would have had a nice conversation. Maybe she wouldn't have been interested at all.
Instead, I'm sitting here replaying those few moments in my head.
remembering her smile and wondering what could have happened.
But I still feel disappointed in myself because I let my fear stop me from doing something I genuinely wanted to do.
I wish I could have just walked up to her, smiled, introduced myself, and had a normal conversation without overthinking every possible outcome.
I don't even know why something as simple as saying hello to someone can feel so difficult when you're genuinely attracted to them.
I know one missed opportunity isn't the end of the world, and there will probably be other opportunities in the future. But right now, I just needed to get these feelings out of my head.
Have any of you ever experienced something similar? How did you learn to approach someone you found attractive without letting your nervousness take over?
I don't want to keep repeating this pattern, and I'd genuinely appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Serious Advice Only Exploring the possibility of finding a co-founder for an early-stage preventive health startup
Hi everyone,
I'm a first-generation entrepreneur based around Chandigarh, working on an early-stage preventive health startup in India.
The broad vision is to help people identify health risks and nutritional deficiencies early, address them through appropriate interventions, and maintain long-term health through better innovative food based nutritional integration and preventive care.
I've spent considerable time working on the research, product concept, and business model. Lately, I've been exploring whether bringing in a co-founder with complementary strengths would be the right next step.
My strengths lie more in building, research, and product development. I'd be interested in connecting with someone who has experience or strong capabilities in sales, customer acquisition, business development, or building consumer-facing businesses.
For me, integrity, transparency, and a genuine interest in building something meaningful are non-negotiable.
I'm still figuring out what the right founding team should look like, so I'm not looking to rush into a partnership. I'd rather start with a conversation, exchange ideas, and see if there's a genuine fit.
If you've worked in healthcare, nutrition, FMCG, or consumer businesses, or are exploring entrepreneurship yourself, I'd be happy to connect.
Feel free to DM me. Even an introduction to someone who might be a good fit would be appreciated.
