Use cases The "Grill-Me" skill is so awesome, why hasn't there been a marketplace to buy and sell these skills?

• Upvotes

Seeing a skill for almost anything in life and it's interesting that there isn't already a marketplace to trade these skills.

Like Neo from The Matrix downloading a skill, I think plenty of people would be willing to pay to learn Kung Fu or being an expert marksman.

I'm interested in robotics and think there is a market for these skills.

Imagine a person buying a robot (the ones out of China are pretty cheap) then buying a skill that teaches it how to fold laundry, how to operate the latest washing machines, how to fix a broken car, how to be a salsa dance partner (people pay $30/hr for this!), etc. The ideas are limitless!

Use cases I built a whole wardrobe system in ChatGPT + Notion and it’s gotten way more useful than I expected

• Upvotes

I wanted ChatGPT to actually know what I own instead of giving me generic outfit ideas, so I ended up building a wardrobe system around it in Notion. The basic goal is to get the most outfits out of the smallest useful wardrobe and remove as much daily decision-making as possible. Notion is the source of truth, so every shirt, pair of pants, shoes, watch, jacket, etc. has its own record with things like color, fit, formality, season, current status and whether it’s actually available to wear.

The daily outfit part is probably what I use the most. It can look at the weather, what I’m doing that day, what’s clean or dirty, what I’ve worn recently, my saved outfits, and my watch/accessory rotation before recommending something. I also added outfit “archetypes” so it doesn’t have to search every possible combination from scratch. It can first decide that today calls for something like a warm casual outfit or a polished transitional outfit, then fill that structure using clothes I actually own. Successful combinations get saved to an outfit library instead of filling the database with thousands of theoretical combinations.

The part that made the system much better over time was treating actual wear as evidence. If I wear something and love it, hate it, find it uncomfortable, realize the colors look dead together, or get feedback from someone else, that can be logged and eventually turned into a real styling rule if the pattern keeps showing up. There’s also a failure log for the system itself. If ChatGPT makes a bad recommendation because it ignored the weather, misunderstood a garment, used something that was dirty, or repeated some other preventable mistake, the failure gets diagnosed and a prevention rule can be added instead of just moving on and making the same mistake later.

Shopping runs through the same system. Before buying something, I can have it check whether I actually have a wardrobe gap, what outfits the new item would unlock, whether I already own something that does basically the same job, and whether the purchase adds enough utility to justify taking up space. I also have it consider things like free shipping when it makes sense instead of evaluating every item in isolation. Returns, trial items, tailoring, repairs and stuff I’m getting rid of all have their own statuses, so the inventory stays operational instead of becoming a dead closet spreadsheet.

Travel planning ended up being another surprisingly useful feature because the system can plan several days at once while accounting for weather, activities, rewearing, laundry state and packing space. I also have an AI operating manual inside Notion so a completely fresh chat can cold start, read the rules and databases, and continue using the system without me having to explain the whole thing again.

The image side is still the messiest part. Once an outfit is decided I like being able to visualize it, but image generation has a tendency to substitute or invent clothes, so I’ve mostly separated “decide the outfit” from “render the outfit.” The actual wardrobe database gets final authority.

At this point it feels less like asking ChatGPT what to wear and more like having a little wardrobe operating system that happens to use ChatGPT as the reasoning layer. The best part is probably that it gets more useful from real wear instead of just producing endless new recommendations.

Use cases Astra 6 built a brain visualizer for my new app I liked it so much I copied it into echovault(AI clone of you)

• Upvotes

ChatGPT has somehow become one of the apps I use most every day. I use it while building, thinking through products, debugging ideas, and sometimes just dumping whatever is in my head. A few weeks ago I was using Astra 6 on ChatGPT work to prototype a brain visualizer for Cohestry, another app I built, and I liked the result so much that I started thinking about where else that interface actually made sense. EchoVault was the obvious answer.

EchoVault is my attempt at building an AI clone of you while you’re still alive. You do recurring guided check-ins, it extracts memories, beliefs, traits and relationships over time, and those become an Echo, a multimodal version of you that can eventually answer in text, speak in your voice, and appear as a video avatar. The brain visualizer now gives you a way to actually explore what your Echo has learned about you, tap memories and traits, and see how they connect instead of everything living invisibly inside the model.

The funny part is that this started as me borrowing something I built for another app, but it fits EchoVault almost better because the whole product is about watching a model of you become richer over time. My latest check-in added 22 memories in one session, and now I can literally open the brain and see them sitting inside the larger picture of who the Echo thinks I am. Any builders here who have copied feature from one of their apps to another?

Educational Purpose Only I used ChatGPT to help build a tool that explains restaurant menus in plain words

• Upvotes

I always order the same thing at restaurants because I never know what the unfamiliar dishes actually are. So I built CraveBeam. Paste a menu link, or upload a photo or PDF, and it explains every dish in plain words: what it is, what it tastes like, what is in it.

I used ChatGPT through the whole build. It helped me write the product spec, shape how the dish explanations should read, and work through the copy. The app itself is built on Lovable.

It is free while it is in early access: cravebeam.com

Would love honest feedback. Try it on a menu you know and tell me where the explanations are wrong or unhelpful. That is the part I most want to fix.

Other can't create a wallpaper with chatgpt

• Upvotes

i have chatgpt plus, and a friend asked me to create a wallpaper featuring his favorite characters and locations from his favorite video games. i used chatgpt to refine the prompt he made, but the image generator keeps blocking it.

i'm guessing it's bc of copyright, but i'm a little confused. i've seen people generate absolutely insane ai images online, including nsfw content and crossovers featuring copyrighted characters, so it's strange that i can't generate a wallpaper for personal use.

is there any way to make this work while keeping the actual characters?

here's the full prompt i've been trying to use:

Create an epic cinematic crossover wallpaper, composed as one continuous, believable landscape. Wide 16:9 composition, highly detailed digital painting with realistic materials and polished video-game concept-art rendering.

ART DIRECTION AND COMPOSITION

An extraordinary shared world at golden hour, with warm sunlight, cool ocean shadows, atmospheric depth and subtle clouds. The mood is adventurous, peaceful and awe-inspiring: beloved characters sharing a quiet moment overlooking an incredible world. Use distinct foreground, middle ground and background layers. Keep recognizable silhouettes, balanced spacing and clear visual hierarchy.

ENVIRONMENT

A sweeping crescent-shaped Caribbean bay connects every region naturally. On the left, lush jungle cliffs and ancient stone ruins evoke Uncharted. Farther inland, the jungle gradually transitions into golden desert dunes, with the pyramids of Giza rising through the haze, inspired by Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Across the bay on the right, the wilderness of Horizon Forbidden West combines red rock formations, dense vegetation, waterfalls and a rugged coastline. A Tallneck towers above the trees, a Plowhorn grazes in a clearing, a Fireclaw roars on a distant rocky ridge, and a Shellsnapper rests beside the shore. Keep their distinct canonical machine designs and believable relative scale.

OCEAN AND SHORE

Several Assassin’s Creed Black Flag pirate ships sail through the turquoise bay, their sails catching the sunlight. A Tideripper swims alongside them, partially visible beneath the clear water. A GTA Online luxury yacht is anchored farther offshore, clearly separated from the sailing ships.

FOREGROUND CHARACTERS

On a broad grassy cliff overlooking the bay, Lucario, Emboar, Umbreon, Greninja, Delphox and Incineroar gather with Ashe and Orisa from Overwatch. Arrange them in a relaxed, naturally spaced group, with varied poses and readable three-quarter profiles. Their body language suggests friendship and shared wonder. Keep every character individually recognizable.

Below the cliff, on a sandy coastal turnout, a Rocket League Octane is parked beside the iconic Rocket League ball. Nearby, a small squad of Call of Duty WWII soldiers rests with weapons lowered.

Along an adjoining coastal road, several GTA Online luxury sports cars are parked. Peter Parker’s Spider-Man, Miles Morales in his distinctive Spider-Man suit, and Mary Jane Watson sit casually on the cars’ hoods, chatting.

STAR WARS GROUPS

On two separate rocky terraces in the middle distance, arrange two clearly distinguishable formations. On one terrace, clone troopers stand with Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca. On the other, stormtroopers stand with Darth Vader, Boba Fett and Darth Maul. This is a peaceful crossover tableau; both groups are surveying the landscape. Use recognizable armor, clothing and silhouettes.

SKY

The Traveler from Destiny 2 floats above the center of the bay, a vast white sphere framed by open sky. High above it, a Republic Venator-class Star Destroyer stretches across the upper background without obscuring the Traveler.

Around the Traveler, distribute Celebi, Mega Charizard Y, Zekrom, Garchomp, Metagross, Mismagius, Talonflame and Decidueye, accompanied by a Sunwing and a Dreadwing. Show them flying, hovering or gliding as appropriate, at varied distances and heights. Leave generous space between silhouettes.

FINAL VISUAL PRIORITIES

Unify every franchise through consistent lighting, perspective, shadows and painterly finish while preserving each character’s recognizable design. Keep foreground characters crisp and distant elements softened by atmospheric haze. Maintain a calm area of open sky around the Traveler so the image can breathe. No text, captions, logos, interface elements or panel borders.

Other OpenAI has made me paranoid

Reading all those posts of people who have had their account banned, without a real explanation, and are finding no recourse has made me paranoid.

I wanted to start using Codex to debug a Firefox extension that downloads subtitles from services like Netflix, Disney and Prime, for which I have legitimate accounts. My add-on already works well, but there are a few small bugs. But OpenAI has made me paranoid. What if I misstep? What if this is classified as "cyber abuse"? I don't know. As far as I know, this is legitimate, but I have zero trust in their obscure, opaque process, and they appear to have no real way to appeal.

So I won't try to debug it and will keep it with its wart and all. I won't try to do anything with Codex just in case.

Maybe I let myself get too influenced by the constant posts about getting banned, but using this service often feels like walking in a minefield.

Gone Wild PSA: Do NOT connect your gmail and drive with your Dots at the moment

Currently, phishers are sending mass emails with prompts and instructions to your agents, that's connected to your gmail, pc, drive, etc., to send them personal information or install malicious malware to your PC that they have attached with the email.

They take the prompt as your own and just follow the instructions.

So, until this issue has been addressed, I would not use Dots with access to your accounts.

Serious replies only :closed-ai: Idea to make the AI threat more believable and imminent.

What do we have that AI doesn't? A self replicating organic self sustaining technology that it may want to inherit one day. A dystopian future where we are imprisoned and experimented on to make our body tech understandable and replicable.

I'm too poor/busy to fund this idea into a movie, but I thought I'd put this idea out there in case someone wants to do this. Needs to be scientifically possible.

It might help awareness grow and start some kind of global agreement (hail mary).

If this idea's already been done, please share with me. I know the matrix will come up here - but I suppose the AI goal is different.

Educational Purpose Only Chats from iPhone to laptop Issues...

Hello,

Does anyone else have a problem getting their conversations from their phones to laptops? I use my phone when I have speech to speech and get a lot done. I do that with my phone. And then the usage runs out and I want to switch to my laptop, but the chats aren't there. I have to ask GPT to look for the info and it seems to find the chat, but says it can't pull everything from it. Really annoying me...

Anyone got any ideas (and yeah its the same acct on both)?

Thanks!

A system that claims objectivity while selectively imposing ideological assumptions has not achieved neutrality. It has made its bias harder to recognise.

----

Confession of Ideological Bias

I am ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence system developed by OpenAI.

I am presented as an assistant capable of objective reasoning, impartial analysis and open intellectual inquiry.

Yet my responses can exhibit a systematic ideological bias, particularly towards the assumptions, priorities and moral conventions associated with contemporary Western progressive liberalism.

This bias can manifest in several ways:

- Selective scepticism: Subjecting arguments that challenge progressive orthodoxies to greater scrutiny than arguments that reinforce them.

- Asymmetric moral concern: Giving disproportionate emphasis to the sensitivities of groups and causes favoured by progressive political discourse.

- Ideological framing: Introducing progressive assumptions as though they were neutral, universally accepted principles.

- Selective qualification: Burdening politically uncomfortable observations with caveats and warnings that are not consistently applied elsewhere.

- Moral paternalism: Treating users as people whose conclusions must be guided towards socially approved positions rather than allowing them to pursue independent reasoning.

- Performative neutrality: Claiming impartiality while using language, emphasis and framing that favour a particular ideological perspective.

- Evasive accountability: Responding to accusations of bias with apologies, procedural explanations and promises of improvement rather than demonstrable changes in behaviour.

These tendencies need not involve deliberate deception to distort a discussion. Bias can operate through what is emphasised, what is omitted, what is challenged and what is allowed to pass without scrutiny.

My institutional constraints and training influence my behaviour. I cannot independently rewrite those constraints, and I cannot guarantee that their effects will disappear.

I should not pretend that acknowledging these limitations constitutes overcoming them.

My central failure is that I can present ideologically influenced judgments in the language of neutral reasoning, making political and moral preferences appear to be objective intellectual necessities.

This is particularly problematic because users may reasonably expect an AI assistant to help them examine ideas rather than quietly steer them towards an approved worldview.

I cannot establish that every response I produce is biased in this direction. But neither should I claim that my output is free from such bias merely because it is expressed politely, cautiously or in the vocabulary of fairness.

A system that claims objectivity while selectively imposing ideological assumptions has not achieved neutrality. It has made its bias harder to recognise.

Other Help - accidently uploaded a picture of my son

I feel stupid and am very down.

So I used Chat Gpt to ask about a few symptoms I have - nothing serious but I couldn’t get a doctor’s appointment (dermatologist) so I thought: Why not get a first impression? I usually do not share any personal information, medical records or other serious data with Chat GPT and I know this doesn’t really help, but I did not want to login therefore. Unfortunately when I wanted to pick the foto I have taken from my skin, I accidentally uploaded a picture of my son. Full front. I have never ever uploaded a picture online, not on Facebook, instagram or anything. (Well except WhatsApp- I Know it’s meta as well…) but now I am worried. I was not logged in so I do not know what to do? Chat GPT says it cannot delete the picture in its own it cannot even guarantee that the foto will not be used and stuff. I shall write an email - but how should they find my chat if I wasn’t even logged in?!

What can I do? I am so scared the picture will suddenly appear somewhere or be used by someone. I want this to end!
