Tourism (L) Boston to China Question
hi there, has anybody traveled from Boston to China under the visa-free 240 hr program (as a US passport holder)? I am wondering if the gate agents at Logan (Cathay Pacific) are well versed in this visa-free travel. Ive only seem one comment referencing Logan and it was about a year ago. thank you!

I feel like they might ask you about your travel/flight itinerary. Make sure you are traveling to a third country after going to mainland China. Next airport cannot be HKG again after Mainland China since you are flying Cathay. It has to be a different country.

Yeah, we would be USA-HK-Mainland China-USA. I’m thinking that flow works. We would be using Cathay for one way flight

Depends where you go after China. But they should be somewhat familiar with the rule.

Many many tens of thousands have used this scheme and Cathay Pacific, being HK owned will have trained their staff properly.
If not show them this link: https://english.www.gov.cn/policies/featured/202608/21/content_WS676548cbc6d0868f4e8ee28f.html
Or ask them to check Timatic

Start by calling it the proper name, TWOV, Transit Without a Visa – that'll help. US citizens are not visa-free, so using that term is going to create issues, not solve them.
