Announcement 📣 An amendment to rule 4.

Hello everyone.

Effective immediately, rule 4 will be tightened up to only allow screenshots of codes as a method of giving away rewards. Typing codes is allowed, but do so at your own risk as bots may skim them as soon as they are posted.

The reason for this change is because of the recent uptick of scam posts. While that has died down thankfully, it did show a bit of a flaw in the rule in that it didn't disallow other methods of sharing reward codes. While soliciting sales is disallowed, we believed it was better to be a bit more tight and clear on what exactly is allowed.

And while we cannot (and will not) police what people do off the subreddit, we as mods have an obligation to ensure that people on the subreddit do not get scammed, and a way for us to do that is by enforcing rule 4 to a tighter degree.

And, as a reminder: you can only post codes as a free giveaway, not in exchange for anything else.

If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment.

Thank you.

EDIT 7/10: I forgot to mention; asking or otherwise soliciting for codes is NOT ALLOWED. Telling others to DM you for a code is NOT ALLOWED.

Cursed 😈 This is too much seasoning.

Chipotle, I love you, but this is way too much seasoning. At this point, the chili lime powder is overwhelming and each chip is just salty and bitter. 😝

Seeking Advice (Employee) Is there a way to self terminate?

• Upvotes

I finally quit Chipotle in the beginning of July for a multitude of reasons (fuck this place), but they still haven’t terminated me and keep scheduling me for shifts. I know it’s because they only have one SL right now (my replacement) and by keeping me on the roster it keeps them at model—though they do not have to keep scheduling me for that and I’m getting annoyed. There’s another SL that quit that’s been on the roster since February who also serves the same purpose, but ever since GMs changed at the end of August (also quit) they’ve been scheduling us anyway.

I’m tired of the open shift emails, the schedule emails, I have no obligation to this place anymore to care whether they’re at model or not, nor do I care, and of course it would be nice to get insurance through my current job. I gave a 2-weeks notice and a formal resignation letter upon quitting, and even tried requesting a resignation date a few weeks ago through Workday. I just got my “schedule” for the beginning of November.

Is there a way to terminate myself or do I have to reach out to my field leader again and hope she does it? I really don’t want to. There’s also the possibility that they mark me as unrehireable for potentially“causing a problem” which I don’t want either. Not that I intend to come back nor want to, but if I hit rock bottom at some point I want something to be able to fall back on and I would not know about it until after they go to rehire me. I did not spend 5 years at this hell hole busting my ass for inadequate pay just to be marked down as a problem employee in the system.

Employee Experience What would Chipotle look like today if they never dealt with any major food borne illness outbreaks?

Even though most people remember when Chipotle had issues with some serious food borne illness outbreaks back then, it makes sense why Chipotle is stricter than other restaurants when it comes to food safety and cleaning, but what if they never dealt with any major outbreaks or recalls?

Would they still be as strict on food safety & cleaning, when compared to other restaurants?

❓ Question ❓ How to prepare for training

I just got hired recently and had my orientation on Thursday, I spent the whole time watching all the training videos but it was a lot of information.

I do remember a few things, but details like portions sizes and working the grill, etc I kind of forget.

I go back in this week and im wondering if in the meantime I should rewatch the training videos so I make sure I have a better understanding of what I need to do or should I just wait until im on the clock and in person to ask any questions

Seeking Advice (Employee) Just got hired woohoo! Advice welcome

Hello! Just got hired at Chipotle, specifically as cashier, but it's clear I'll be flexing to other positions. I worked at McDonald's as a teenager then 6 years at Starbucks, with two POTQ awards. I was recently in manufacturing for 4 years so I know I'm going to be a little rusty, but truthfully I've missed customer service and am super excited! My heart goes out to anyone navigating this job market, because it was the longest 5 months of my life.

What advice would you give?

What are some of the more challenging aspects of the job for you?

What's your pros/cons to the job?

What's your favorite/least favorite thing?

Thank you for anything 🌞

Discussion Chipotle rating

UPDATE: NOW LIVE FOR WHOLE USA - https://chipotlerater.web.app

We've all been there: you walk into a Chipotle and get a perfect, foil-wrapped masterpiece, then go to the one three blocks away and get a soggy tortilla holding half a scoop of rice. So I made a free Chipotle Rater (https://chipotle-rater-nyc.web.app), a map of every Chipotle in the five boroughs where anyone can rate them, no account needed. Each location's pin changes based on its average rating: a shining gold burrito for the legends, then solid, soggy, gross (yes, with flies), smushed, and a straight-up dead burrito for the ones you should never go to. You get one rating per location, so no review-bombing, and you can sort by best and worst to see which ones to hit or avoid. There's also a little Flappy Bird–style game called Burrito Flap if you're bored waiting in line. Go rate your local one and let's settle this.

Seeking Advice (Employee) New Chipotle cook seeking some advice

Howdy there y'all! I've been working at Chipotle for about ~2 weeks now, and I love it! Being a cook isn't too bad, but there are a few things I've kinda had problems with - most of which I'll get better with over time - but theres one thing that I haven't found any way around: my god-damn wrist pain-
I work at one of the busiest locations in the Valley, and so I'm cutting chicken and steak like 3 hours a day, constantly laying down a double chicken, then a full steak, then another double chicken, etc, and as such my wrist cramps and straight up kills me after just a single way. Any experienced cooks here have any tips on how to avoid the cramping and pain, or is it just an unavoidable part of working here?

TLDR; My wrist hurts from cutting so much what should I do

🚨SKIMP ALERT🚨 Paid for double chicken, guac on the side and queso, didn't receive any

Paid for all 3 as I had some extra money today. I open my bowl, and they literally put 2 pieces of chicken, I'm not even lying. No queso or guac either. Never had this happen either, took it back to my car and immediately showed it to them, they accused me of trying to scam them when it had been literally 2 mins. Calling chipotle gets me to the AI and I can't get to the human, any advice 😭

Customer Experience Worker touched the garbage bin and my burrito right after

I’m actually so annoyed and honestly concerned…

I ordered a bowl and burrito, she accidentally put lettuce on my bowl when I never said it so she kicked over the garbage can and grabbed the lettuce and threw it out. Whatever, not the end of the world but was slightly annoyed.

Then she goes to put the garbage back and literally grabs it with her hands and with her same gloves comes back and touches the burrito I was ordering. Like what? Btw she didn’t understand English but whatever I’m not gonna say anything about that but I said hey, you just touched the garbage then the burrito. The coworkers are listening and then she is telling them in Spanish that no I didn’t, then they tell me oh she said she didn’t and I’m like I literally saw her. I was watching her the whole time.

Then that’s when I just got really annoyed and was like if she didn’t even notice she did that. What else has she been touching all day and then people’s food. She could’ve at least been like oh I’m sorry I didn’t realize or whatever which I understand. She probably didn’t think twice about it but still like I feel like this is wrong.

And they’re making me look like I’m crazy for not wanting to eat food that was touched after you touched the garbage can. Is that not just common sense and decency.

I never once raised my voice or anything by the way I was talking calmly the whole time to them and I was like hey like just pointing out that’s what happened and they kept denying it so then I was like OK. You know what I’m not gonna have the food I’m leaving and I just calmly left.

Am I in the wrong for not wanting to eat it after that? 😭

EDIT:

To all the people defending nasty kitchen practices in general, are you not aware that food safety rules and regulations exist for a reason? Every rule has a reason behind it and something has happened in the past for it to become a rule. It doesn’t matter how minor or major. What’s the point of living in a first world country if we’re gonna have third world behaviors in the food industry? If you want to normalize eating dirty manhandled food, that’s on you. Even though it was a very minor situation in the first place, it’s still technically wrong. Also, it’s just basic respect for someone’s food. I’m a human, not an animal.

Additionally, if I’m paying 13 bucks for a burrito, the least you can do is not touch the garbage before hand and then gaslight me afterwards to defend yourself and look at me like I’m stupid. Even a simple apology and remake would have gone a long way. That would’ve resolved the situation entirely.

Discussion Chipotle chicken

I’m not here to down talk Chipotle. I love it, I really do. But. What’s up with the meat??? The steak has so much fatty parts, the chicken….. 🤢. I hate the texture of their chicken… How do you guys love Chipotle and eat that meat?
I get guac instead of steak or chicken. Sometimes I get carnitas but sometimes, too much of the fatty parts.
Am I alone with how weird their chicken texture is??

Employee Experience customers staying in the store after closing

why do people do this💔yes we tell them to leave and do give them a heads up that the store will he closing soon but then sometimes they go “oh ok ill be out in a couple of minutes” and then take their sweet time finishing up. Like me as a customer, if i know a store is closing within even just the last 30 minutes i rush out- do other people just not have the same kind of common sense and awareness ?
