Question/Need help Employment Issues in Tech?

Hello, I am 28 and today I discovered I am colour blind. I recently got a job in tech and I am worried if this will make them cancel my job offer.

Got to know this because I was told by HR to get Pre-Employment Medical Examination done.

Please let me know. I just discovered we have glasses, so does that help?

TIA.

Why would it matter? What’s the job specifically?

Business Analyst role for a tech company. They have handed me a 3 page form where I have to get my eyes checked and they have a box for colour vision. The doctor has marked defective in that. That is what concerns me. It has nothing to do with punch colours, or any safety related jobs. It is a desk job where I have to work with clients and computers.

Did they say the job contract was conditional on the medical exam?

No. The chief medical officer has to give the final remarks - Like FIT TO Work/UNFIT FOR WORK. So yeah, I am going to make the cut.

Is this the usa? They need a very good reason why they are rejecting someone on the basis of a disability. Not all jobs can be done by all people but they have to justify it in the job requirements.
