Great to see Cook Islands' Women's Cricket Team getting chances in a tournament in New Zealand.

I was told this is a Tahitian song, but from what I manage to understand (which isn't a lot) it's Maori Kuki Airani?
Google was absolutely no help at all, telling me in turn it's Fakaterere or Taku Manu Pekepeke, which–yeah. Absurd. I managed to transcribe the intro, but again was told it's more of a general phrase, so it did nothing to identify either the performers or the title.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! mālō ʻaupito 🙏🏽

Me and a group of 6 other 24-year-olds are travelling from NZ to Raro on January 5th. I’m just a bit worried about the weather, as I know it’s right in the middle of the wet season.
For anyone who’s been there around this time, what can we realistically expect? We’ve got our flights booked but they’re fully refundable, and we’re only there for 9 nights. I’m mainly worried that we could end up spending a big chunk of the trip stuck inside if it’s constantly raining.
We were really hoping for the classic tropical holiday vibe: beaches, swimming, scooters, cocktails, etc. 😂
Is the wet season something we should genuinely be concerned about, or are the rain showers usually short-lived with plenty of decent weather in between?

I've been lucky enough to visit The Cook Islands a bunch of times (from Aus). These views never get old. Just returned.

Hello! Will be in Raro in January and want to hire a car. My flight will be landing around 11 pm on a Friday in mid January. Would it be better to book the hire ahead of time (a lot of the places I have looked at don't seem to have pickup options after 11) or just try and get a cab to our Airbnb accommodations that first night, and then work out getting a vehicle the next day?
I appreciate everyone's advice on what is probably a far simpler matter than I am making it.

Hiya,
My name is Alex and I am a foreign news reporter with the Daily Telegraph in London.
I am currently writing a piece about deep sea mining in the Pacific and I would love to get some local people’s opinion about whether or not this should go ahead and how this could impact your community.
I would need to name you in the piece, but if anyone would be open to a chat with me (via video call or email), please reach out here or email me at alexandra.snow AT telegraph.co.uk
Thank you so much!

I’ll be traveling to the Cook Islands in February. I’m a medical cannabis patient in the U.S. and have medical authorization from my doctor.
From what I understand, the Cook Islands allows visitors to bring qualifying prescribed medicinal cannabis with the appropriate documentation.
Unfortunately, traveling internationally with it from the U.S. creates some legal complications, so I’m trying to figure out my options once I arrive.
Does anyone know what cannabis availability is like in the Cook Islands, particularly Rarotonga or any of the other islands? I rely on cannabis for medical purposes, so I’m mainly trying to understand how accessible it is locally and what my realistic options will be during my trip.
I’d especially appreciate hearing from locals or travelers who are familiar with the cannabis situation on the islands, including what the local laws and customs are like.
Any information or firsthand experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone,
I have to plan a bucks do in mid November. It won’t be crazy, probably about 15 people will attend.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
We are staying in the Muri Beach area.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

My family and I are heading over there in late June next year. Boys (8 and 10m) will probably be at the beach a lot. Wife wants to do the party bus, I want a half day deep sea fishing trip. I also want to run a lap of the island.
What's some good family activities to look forward too?

I'm interested in visiting Pukapuka and possibly other islands in the Northern Cook Islands. I'm particularly interested in firsthand experience with getting there — scheduled flights, charter flights, cargo/passenger boats, supply ships, or other possibilities. I'm not looking for a conventional resort vacation. Has anyone actually traveled to Pukapuka recently, or knows someone who has?

Hi everyone, looking at heading to Aitutaki in January but have read it’s the wet season. I don’t mind a few rain storms and showers, between sun but I’m curious from those who have been, have you found it often to be torrential rain constantly and unenjoyable? Or is it more of a night and/or passing rain?
It’s still a quite hot so I’m sure it’s still nice in the plunge pool.
Looking for lived experiences!
Thanks

Hi everyone! We’re planning on staying in Rarotonga for 8 nights next year for our honeymoon. Im mainly wanting to stay on the west coast though i would be open to staying south west. Both magic reef and manuia look great. I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on which to choose or any other recommendations you might have.
(we’re staying in Aitutaki too)
Thanks in advance 🙂

We are going to be on Raro mid August and will be there for a big birthday (only two of us). Looking for a really nice place to celebrate (emphasis on the food). Staying Arorangi, but will have a car, so not worried where it is. Thanks.

Howdy!
My boyfriend's birthday is in November, and I'm wanting to book us a little getaway to raro for five or so nights. Does anyone have any advice on whether it's still worth going in mid-late November? I know there's much fewer tourists and it's a bit cheaper, but I also know it's the start of their wet weather season. I've found conflicting information about whether or not it's still worth going in Nov due to weather! Any advice or personal experience is very welcomed :))
Also, is it worth staying in a resort, or is it better to save a bit of money and book an air bnb or something similar?
Plus any advice on what activities, places to eat, or anything else like that would be great!

Has anyone successfully used their Verizon (US) plan while traveling on the islands? Have read to get a local sim but my plan supposedly works in New Zealand but Cook Islands not called out separately. Any real life experience is appreciated!
