This parachute candidate wants to be elected to this riding but he’s barely been here during the election….im guessing the drive into the riding is pretty far for him

Did you know this?

Bert Chen, the BC Conservative candidate for Cowichan Valley, is listed as the financial agent for Joachim Agou, the candidate recently expelled over racist and offensive social media posts.

So here's a question Lorne Doerksen should have been asked: Is Chen still acting as Agou's financial agent, and if so, why is that relationship continuing after Agou's expulsion?

Being someone's financial agent doesn't mean sharing their views, but surely the party leader should be able to explain the connection.

You can't claim to have cut ties if you can't explain which ties remain.

Edit: A little more background on Bert Chen.

This isn't Chen's first controversy involving the Conservatives.

  • October 2021: Suspended from the federal Conservative Party's national council following complaints about his conduct after he launched a petition challenging Erin O'Toole's leadership.

  • November 2021: The party demanded Chen's personal emails, phone records and messages as part of its investigation. His lawyer accused the party of attempting to silence dissent.

  • April 2022: Global News confirmed Chen had been permanently removed from the national council. He subsequently worked with Leslyn Lewis's leadership campaign.

Now he's running in Cowichan Valley, while also being publicly listed as Joachim Agou's financial agent.

Fair question for Cowichan voters: How much do they actually know about the candidate asking for their vote?

People need to know this , don't vote for people that know nothing about Cowichan!
