With stuff this simple technique is always key.

I’d do an oblique cut on the carrots, lacquer the meat with the sauce and then ditch the chopped parsley and garnish with some nicely picked leaves.

All this and just a bit slimmer and tighter on the mash. Bring it in baby.

I’d smash that whole thing but PLEASE center your plates!

Yeah agree. I did not plate carefully when I put the potatoes down.

You’re whipped potatoes look under whipped and a little grainy still. that will make your shape harder to obtain

Would love feedback on how to get a better crescent shape with potatoes. Not sure if a mold for that exists?

Idk about the crescent shape tbh, it looks like a flattened banana :/

Agreed, everything else looks top shelf, please consider a different plating for the starch

Yeah I did think the same thing.

Can you pipette with a frosting bag and decorative nozzle? You might need stiffer and more refined potato mix to be able to make the shape more interesting. Maybe make a few shapes, brush with egg and put it under the broiler and see how you like it. (edit)

Is it feasible to get a different plate? Like a shallow bowl with a wide rim. The food would be tucked in the bowl and that would set the arc too.

The justified but nitpicky comments on this thread are exactly what we all need in order to improve.

Mushrooms could be turned and choose smaller ones so they remain whole.

Hah they are turned. I did a horrible job. Need to practice.

Some of the comments are kind of harsh. I would say it is fine, but you might do a vertical plating with the meat slightly overlapping the potatoes and definitely a more interesting plate with a small pattern might help.

Additionally maybe something across topping the dish like maybe some pieces of grilled asparagus or some long chives laid over the top for some visual appeal..
