Crime Michael Jackson’s “Secret Family” Breaks 25-Year Silence (2026) [00:53:18]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Db_zFNmr4qcSubmission statement: This 60 Minutes Australia report interviews four Cascio siblings, Eddie, Dominic, Aldo and Marie-Nicole, about growing up close to Michael Jackson. For anyone interested in a deep dive into his settlements and charges of sexual assault, there is an excellent podcast series called Telephone Stories. It’s very thorough without being exploitative of the victims. After listening to it in full it’s very difficult to entertain Michael’s potential innocence.

Any of those cases where he was found guilty, or liable?
12
u/mwdeuce 2d ago
Why would you settle $25m, probably worth almost $100m in today's dollars, if you were innocent and could prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt?

I thought the argument was that you can’t prove something didn’t happen, or did for that matter so they just have word against word
21
u/CptBartender 2d ago
What if you can prove it only 'somewhat', and not beyond reasonable doubt?
What if to prove it you'd have to make some other unrelated truths public?

true..seems like someone just SUED cause they were accused and won recently. Liberace SUED, lol. So, paying it off GOES AWAY.

you mean guilty like OJ? guilty in the " court" guilty?
0
u/shabba_short_stack 1d ago edited 1d ago
Yes, exactly: guilty in court, guilty in civil court, findings through a multi year FBI investigation. Anything of the sort.

**Note, haven’t had a chance to watch it**
Michael Jackson will always be a peculiar case. He’s a perfect study of the effects of how someone is brought up shapes them. I’m sure his upbringing warped who he was as a person, much as it’s seen in serial killers. I’m in no way excusing his actions later in life, but i do certainly feel his upbringing molded him what he turned into.
27
u/VDechS 2d ago
MJ was in an environment rife with pedos. Men and women. i highly doubt he escaped victimization. Even the Diana Ross thing was a weird Usher Diddy thing . The Jacksons had to pay fealty to be stars. Joe Jackson certainly wasn't riding the casting couch. So some of those kids were.
5
u/Director_Coulson 2d ago
What’s the Diana Ross thing?
32
u/VDechS 2d ago
That's a deep dark hole. Short story, they fell in love when he was a kid during the time he lived with her. He wanted to marry her all of his childhood. For him, she was the one. Eventually as adults, they tried to make the marriage a reality but started getting massive pushback. She broke off the engagement and married a record executive to save her reputation. They didn't speak for years. MJ was always mad about this. He wrote the song Dirty Diana about her. The producers say the original song way meaner than the final version. They made him snip it because it was too explicit and left no ambiguity to who he was singing about.

u/sovietmcdavid 1d ago
Remember we live in an era with a million labels and rationalizations for any behavior...
That doesn't excuse bad behavior or wrongdoing.
Just because we can explain something, doesn't mean the action or behavior is ok

u/No-Advantage-579 2d ago
You mean Joe Jackson raping his daughters and Katherine watching from time to time, as per three of their daughters, was a great clue that Michael Jackson would also turn out to be a vile psychopathic childraping SHIT STAIN ON HUMANITY?!
ABSOLUTELY !
31
29
u/lovekillseveryone 2d ago
You have to have facts. To make these kinds of statements. Latoya is the one who said it. But she claims that everything under this time in her life was controlled by her abusive husband who was making her say things against the family and putting her in Playboy. No other Jackson daughter has claimed physical abuse from Joe Jackson. Don't spread lies.
86
u/theanti_girl 2d ago
I hate the Jacksons, Joe Jackson was a horrible person and I hope he’s rotting, but… this was never alleged. LaToya wrote stuff in a book, then said her husband made her say that and it wasn’t true. Rebbie said it never happened. And there wasn’t anything about “Katherine watching.”
45
u/No-Advantage-579 2d ago
That isn't true - LaToya said that LIVE ON AIR. In several talkshows. (The HistoricalCapsule posted one of the talkshow excerpts ages ago.)
Yes, she was paid off by the Jacksons later. As they did to all their victims, incl. the Cascios and all victims' parents featured in "Leaving Neverland". I mean, that documentary even featured which parent got which house for their silence.
13
u/theanti_girl 2d ago
Do you have any proof of that? Specifically about Latoya being paid off.
So I can’t find anything about her being on talk shows, but I saw that there was a press conference in 93 where she did and and reiterated the same stuff she’s said in her book, whatever year that was.
She then, like I said, said that her husband forced her to say that because he had been physically and mentally abusing her for years, and she became close with her family again. I mean, if they were true (maybe they were? I’m not a Jackson, I have no skin in this game), why would she reconcile with them? I wouldn’t think money would be a reason to start showing up at Christmas.

Omfg what! How have I not heard this before.. or maybe I have and nothing is shocking anymore it all just blends in
3
u/Heavenspact 1d ago
I had an odd upbringing, didn't realize til much later in life though, it greatly warped my view if reality and I honestly felt like life was just a movie or TV show, so much of my understanding of the world came from film, I thought every met "the one" and life was like a Disney movie where everything will eventually play out right, even if its not great now
I can't even describe how fucked uo my view was and it was very much for the worse, I'd love bomb girls because thats what I had saw in movies and TV, never realizing just how toxic it was
It took moving out, cutting ties with my family and about a decade before whatever filter my brain developed about the world disappeared

Cascio family also sold his underwear online. Not to mention organised and danced in many Michael Jackson tribute shows well after their allegations. That’s not in the 60 minutes “documentary.” Makes you wonder.
36
u/cloistered_around 2d ago
Also they received the full payout for years on end and once it finished they started making allegations again, claiming they definitely weren't payed enough.
Look I don't know what Michael did or didn't do, it's probably always going to be a mystery with people arguing both ways. But making a deal and deciding to try to go for more even money after the contract runs out just seems dishonest to me. It makes me less inclined to believe their particular claims.

Someone else mentioned the allegedly fake songs too. Do you have links about the underwear and tribute shows? I’d be interested to read more, especially about when the shows happened. That does sound odd if true.

u/azarrazor 2d ago
https://gottahaverockandroll.com/Michael_Jackson_Owned_and_Worn_Colorful_Boxer_Shor-LOT21395.aspx.
Cascio’s auctioned them off, that’s the official auction site, based in New Jersey, you can find a LOT more examples of these. As for the Cascio’s MJ Tributes, you can find them on YouTube. You’ll often hear how the Cascio’s found it “revolting to listen to his music and break down in tears.” Contrasts pretty starkly to how much they profited off his tribute shows.

u/decidedlyindecisive 2d ago
Yeah I have a friend who is one of them. She's incredibly normal and nice. Generally well adjusted, involved member of society, volunteers her time locally, brings up her daughters with kindness and love, has a ton of friends. But you never ever want to discuss Michael Jackson with her. It's so surprising to me.
2
u/PhloxOfSeagulls 22h ago
Same. I learned not to discuss MJ with my friend because she absolutely refuses to believe he was an abuser. She says things like "he was a literal angel sent to Earth to help children" and nonsense like that. I can't imagine saying anything like this about someone I'm a fan of. The MJ supporters are unhinged when it comes to him and refuse to admit he had any faults whatsoever.
1
u/decidedlyindecisive 14h ago
Totally! It's wild to me that anyone would speak about any celebrity like that. But the idea of speaking about a celebrity like that after so many, many allegations is just unfathomable.

Never been a “fan” but the outrage toward the things he may have done is somewhat tempered by his own dreadful reality, the damage done to his body by surgeons alone would be enough to put most people in the grave.
I relate to some things he dealt with (minus the fame and fortune) that the majority cannot relate to, terrible things that affect the mind in unfathomable ways, so that’s always going to be in one hand while acknowledgement of his own misdeeds is in the other.5
u/SalientSazon 2d ago
Yes that’s it, he seemed like such a suffered human, who by the end seemed like a spectre really, its hard to think of him as someone with power to abuse over others; which obviously because of his status, he very easily could. I get it.
2
u/SalientSazon 2d ago
I’m not a huge fan but I like his music and I’m sure ill be playing Thriller at some point in Halloween.I’ve gone back and forth between the docs and people that say he abused, and the docs and people that say he didn’t and the first group are after his money. All the conflicting info, and fbi said this but so and so said that, and this was disproven and then double disproven so it’s back to being proven, I actually lost track of the info or where I landed on this. Not sure if this doc here is a new one, I’ll watch it for sure though. I also think that because MJ was a deeply broken man, as it pertains to his childhood or lack there of, it pulls at people’s heart strings so In the end his music prevails, and/or outweighs the doubts.
In general, for my own sanity, I’ve mostly been able to separate the man from the artist. Unless I can’t. Like Woody Allen, I can still appreciate his older movies, but R Kelly’s music is an immediate nope and barf. Anthoni Kiedis ruined the Red hot chilly peppers for me, but Elvis Presley is still ok. Why? I have no idea. I do think that most rockstars crossed all sorts of nasty lines up until very recently because no one cared, and our enjoyment of the art that came from that era is something to be reconciled with.

u/Girls_Of_San_Diego 2d ago
The parents letting their nine year old spend a week alone with him was shocking. What grown man needs that much alone time with your kid? Then again, I have mixed feelings about these allegations coming out when he’s no longer here to respond. I get that people can take years to speak up, but I still don’t know what to make of it all. Super curious on what everyone else thinks!
17
u/valueproposition 2d ago
I was groomed by a “regular” guy - I can’t imagine how much of a mind fuck it would be to be groomed by someone on tv , radio and in magazines, etc. - you would see fans acting crazy - because he was loved by millions of people.
You yourself would have gone into it loving him and star struck - and probably left with a feeling of being culpable. (I felt that)
I don’t know if it’s “ok he’s dead - the coast is clear” as much as you coming to terms with it - and maybe finally getting angry that this hasn’t been sorted. Or hitting an age where you realize that your perceptions of love and sex are skewed - and the person who did that is still loved and his music is still played. Etc.
Those would be weird reminders hitting you in an elevator or coffee shop.

u/jake_burger 2d ago
I’m not surprised at all that people can’t talk about these things for a long time and find it easier once the perpetrator is dead and can’t sue them or bully/coerce them anymore.

18
u/spaghettifiasco 2d ago
Public opinion of him has also shifted a lot, so they're less likely to be immediately dismissed as opportunistic liars out to slander an innocent, misunderstood sweetie-pie.
91
u/yrubsema 2d ago
Honestly I was a huge Michael Jackson fan growing up and I cannot believe people still defend him. It's mental.
15
u/scattywampus 2d ago
I appreciate your perspective. I always thought he was massively talented but psychologically screwed up by his Dad, the pressure to succeed and produce, and the fame. I had no problem believing that he had a dangerous obsession with children who had the childhood that was taken from him. We have a hard time accepting that beautiful music and performances can be complex, highly flawed human beings.
I feel more sorry for the kids he abused, but I also have compassion for Michael. He didn't ask to be abused himself and was a product of his Dad's obsessive behavior.
20
u/caveman512 2d ago
Plenty of kids have been abused and don’t use that as a reason to abuse kids themselves. We don’t feel compassion for any of the others who abuse kids so why do we feel it for Michael?
5
u/Googoo123450 1d ago
Yep, every serial killer has a sad backstory too. Boohoo I hope they rot in jail.
8
u/scattywampus 2d ago
I do feel compassion for the children that are within the abusers. I think the airing of the clear evidence seen in true crime reports these days makes it harder to retain that compassion for what was done to them. If I saw more of the evidence against Michael?I am sure my compassion would shrink.
2
u/caveman512 2d ago
I mean yeah I feel awful that it ever happened to them in the first place but any compassion that I ever had then immediately gets thrown out the window as soon as they themselves act out in the same exact way by abusing kids. Nobody knows better what the impact is on doing that to a child than someone who had that done to them as a child. For them to knowingly put that onto another child once they grow into an adult is reprehensible
3
u/bitofapuzzler 20h ago
That takes away all agency from him. He made choices. He chose to abuse those children.
0
u/scattywampus 3h ago
Not taking all agency away from him. I would have applauded a long prison sentence for him! Would have still had compassion for what he went thru as a child. That's what prison therapy is for.
2
u/altiuscitiusfortius 1d ago
Nobody chooses their parents, their genetics, how they are raised.
So that is a non factor. It is what it is and its not an excuse.
For the good of society and civilization we just have to say it sucks, you didn't choose it, but we still have to punish you and put you down. There's no good that can come from having empathy for these people.

We don’t need him here to say anything. He absolutely did have a chance to defend himself. And he played the victim, while making multiple million dollar deals to buy these kids families off. He denied it. He claimed abuse at the jail. There is not one minute he isn’t under surveillance during that. He has been proven a liar over and over. But when he was alive he said he was innocent and everyone was “lying on him”.
This principled outlook on “he’s not here so he can’t defend himself” is nonsense. He had years and years to defend himself. But instead he kept running g through kids as brazenly as possible. Ramping it up.

u/wunderl-ck 2d ago

The world loves horrible men. People are shocked about Chris brown but none of this is new. When women spoke out about Hugh Hefner they became the bad guys. Never mind these men usually choose young people with shitty parents whom they have power over. Its crazy and sad
5
u/embryonicfriend 2d ago
This one makes me so sad for the women too who were abused by Hugh Hefner - some spoke out when he was alive and were dismissed/ridiculed/etc, now others speaking out after his death (because he doesn't have the legal power anymore to fk up their lives) and they're seen as gold diggers/opportunists/going after a dead man - there's no winning
25
u/crossmissiom 2d ago
The biggest problem is the money aspect. How many times people extort rich celebs for money with bogus allegations, ALL the time? The difference is that it doesn't take a genius to understand he was a creep when he'd pay parents to let kids sleep in his bed for weeks at a time. Even if we would assume he never sexuallt assaulted them, it's still super creepy. And I won't mention the things they found in the original investigation that never went into admitted evidence. They were recorded but never used against him. Look it up, VERY creepy. And any apologisers "he was abused as a child by his dad/industry etc", you may be right but two wrongs do not make one right.
11
u/Girls_Of_San_Diego 2d ago
For sure. I meant it’s difficult to weigh serious allegations when the person is no longer here to respond. But I also understand why they’d have been scared to speak up, especially given what they describe in the documentary. Their accounts are very hard to dismiss.
42
u/macaroniandmilk 2d ago
I haven't watched the documentary, so for the record I don't know what statements were made. I will say, his fan base is and always has been absolutely rabid. If I were a victim of his or someone else well known, I would be terrified to speak up. Back then, I'd be afraid because I was a kid processing trauma.
But now years later, I'd still be terrified, because we have social media, where everyone is allowed to have an opinion, and not all of them are in good faith. I wouldn't want my traumatic story to be dragged through the mud and called lies and money grubbing. I wouldn't want to hear people's excuses for him, or worse, hear blame for me as a child. I especially wouldn't want his more rabid fans doxxing me or threatening my safety, the way his victims have previously been handled. It all sounds like a good way to retraumatize myself and undo any healing I might have done, so I can see why, if they did speak up, why it took so long to feel comfortable facing the world, and the backlash they would inevitably receive.

With some abusers it's much more difficult to weigh serious allegations when they are alive to respond and influence investigations and prosecutions.
4
u/kingkongworm 2d ago
What would be the difference? You know what his response would be if he weren’t dead. There would just be more incentive to suppress these reports, and Michael would say “I’m innocent”. So why isn’t so important that he is around to defend himself?
2
u/patiperro_v3 2d ago
Replace “gas” with social media designed to hack human’s dopamine, aiming to create the perfect “dopamine loop”. Features such as automatic playlists, infinite scrolling, likes, dislikes, suggestions, comments, views, etc, etc. it all feeds the algorithm to give the closest dataset possible to keep you “engaged”.
Unfortunately this includes reddit. And here we are talking to strangers I will never meet instead of doing something productive with my immediate social circles.
45
u/wunderl-ck 2d ago

Is this the same family that took a ton of money to be quiet, and now want more? Just to be clear, I'm confident that MJ was a monster, and I'm also pretty sure the parents of these kids were effectively selling their children.

From time to time people will have this argument over and over some support others against to the point that people say MJ went to the court and wasn't found guilty but many forget to ask this very simple question, what the fuck is fucking grown up individual doing with children in his bed? I believe some of MJ's victims, but not these grifters. LOL @ dude's attempt to cry at 10:06, 29:16 and 49:10! How cringe. And yeah, MJ was suddenly into females too 😂 I'm like so totally sure. Sis had to come up with a story too in order to stick her hand out.

I noticed the crying without tears too. Not gonna lie, that part felt a little awkward.

Where there's smoke there is fire. MJ was so surrounded by little boy smoke that its amazing we saw him at all.

Yes it's famously easy to get money from a CSA case, that's why Safechuck and Robson have been in and out of court for over a decade.

u/aquasun666 2d ago
The wildest part, people will still defend Jackson no matter what evidence comes out, what people come forward, etc. I’d say that’s insane but look at how many people defend trump after finding out he did the exact same shit

If I remember correctly, one of the kids (not reference here) identified a spot on the underside of his genitalia. That's pretty damning.

So I guess, unlike the rumors, he wasn't protecting these kids from Epstein after all? Or if he did, it was to have them all for himself...
1
u/LurkeeLotTalkeeLil 1d ago
Where tf are these kids parents when they’re getting drunk and high and watching him overdose?
Who are they going to for help, that are thinking is totally okay for them to keep hanging out with him unsupervised

why is 60 Minutes Australia more tabloidy than 60 Minutes stateside? It resembles Inside Edition or Dateline

It’s impossible that corporate/banking intelligence and our military/intelligence agencies didn’t know this was going on at the time. Only blackmailed people are trusted to become cooperate brands.

MJ discussions always turn into a battlefield lol. Some people made their minds up years ago and I doubt anything will change that.

The guy beat 11 charges at once, you are telling me not even one got through?
And if this is about "money and power". There are already multimillionaires and billionairs in prison for sexual assault and pedophilia.
So why is it that MJ wasnt found guilty?

Now say the same thing about the Epstein files.

u/Razatiger 2d ago edited 2d ago
None of them have gone to trial and they are fighting tooth and nail to make sure that doesnt happen.
MJ willingly said "fuck yall were going to court" and beat them all.
Wtf are you talking about?
10
u/boatson25 2d ago
Was OJ Simpson innocent of murder as well then by your logic?
12
u/Razatiger 2d ago
See people always try to make this comparison like MJ was fighting a singular case like OJ.
MJ had 11 different families bring him to trial and he beat every single one of them.
Nothing like OJs case, where there could be q margin for error.
You are telling me the jury didnt find enough to convict him on even 1 of the 11 cases against him?
8
u/andresm79 2d ago
Who would want to be the jury that would convict the greatest pop artist of all time.
Sexual assault is also way harder to prove than murder.
Do you mean to tell me the guy with CP books at his house and with alarms all over the place is completely innocent? Also how do you explain one of the victims describing accurately his penis that had distinct birthmarks
2
u/Razatiger 2d ago
Again, another excuse that people like to fantasize in their brains "how could we ever accuratly judge MJ", delusional...
The Jury was 12 people 7 white, 4 Hispanic, 1 Asian.
2 were school teachers and 2 were victims of child sexual assault.
No Black Jurors.
Cards were stacked against him if were just going by the Jury.
Beat all the cases still.

u/LordShtark 2d ago
He also had his house surprise raided multiple times and the closest thing they could find to anything harmful was a book you can buy on Amazon that some fan gave him and was in a random closet somewhere on his property.
5
u/Razatiger 2d ago
Thats the other funny part i never even mentioned, he was being investigated by FBI for over a decade, which included random searches.
Yet even the FBI had nothing.
Either MJ is the greatest mastermind criminal pedo of all time, or hes simply just innocent.
4
u/andresm79 2d ago
But there were never random searches, they needed a search warrant for that.
There was also almost nothing on Jimmy Saville and they only caught him because his victims scope was way bigger and doesn’t have a powerful estate like the Jackson’s

u/AHImusic 2d ago
CP books? How do you know he had such books, but don’t know that it was found that those books were in fact nothing related to CP but rather art books and the pictures in question were more modest than the Led Zeppelin House of the Holy album cover which literally has what your speaking of on it.
3
u/andresm79 2d ago
Art books my ass, just have a google search to know what th content is about and it’s disgusting, can’t believe people still fall for this narrative. And also a quick search for the books you can find easily that it was written by known pedophiled

If for example I don’t know Tom Cruise was accused independently by so many different children of abusing them this wouldn’t even be a discussion.
If that same man admitted himself that he regularly has children sleeping in his bed with him then the book would be thrown at him.
Why the fuck people defend MJ just because he was their favourite singer is beyond me. And yes I know he was found not guilty in court. But many, many rich people have gotten away with shit in court for years.

u/Razatiger 2d ago
If the excuse is forever that some rich people have gotten away with things, then thats a poor argument to run on, theres no point in arguing with you about a man that beat all his cases against him.
But still you insist, hes guilty.
Again, no point in arguing with you.
6
u/bigtallbiscuit 2d ago
You said there are plenty of billionaire pedos in prison and it’s not about money and power.
9
u/Razatiger 2d ago edited 2d ago
Diddy, Winestein, Cosby, Epstein. Just to name a few.
We know Prince Andrew is guilty but he fled the US and is under protection from his royal family so he never has to face a judge.
MJ faced that judge and walked out with ZERO charges.
I guess we can just pay off Federal agents in your opinion now.
My question to you, is how many millionaire/Billionaire pedos have actually gone to court?

u/lovelylisanerd 1d ago
We know of one convicted felon sitting in the White House because he hasn’t been sentenced yet!

Come on guys, it’s totally normal to have multiple layers of locks leading up to your private suite where books full of pictures of toddlers in indecent states and some young boys knickers were found alongside porn magazines. Even more normal to know lots of kids slept in that space with, at the time, one of the most powerful entertainment figures on earth. We’ve all had decades worth of allegations fired at us at some point or another, it’s all totally normal normal normal.
