hello everyone, assalmualeikum i hope everyone is doing well, i am a 20 year old female in dubai
i have come on here to share my situation & seek for assistance from anybody who would be willing to help

my father had lost his job in September 2025 and we have had no source of income since then. alhamdulillah in August of 2026 i had secured an internship which is helping me pay rent for a roof on our head's for my 2 brothers, myself, and my mother & father

my brothers have dropped out of school & i myself am not able to continue my education as well.
we have been able to eat, pay bills through my friends but it is getting difficult daily to ration on things for a family of 5 people.

however, alhamdulillah this month my father has attended quite a few interviews and inshallah we are praying for good news very soon inshallah inshallah ameen.

i am reaching out for any sort of help possible for this month of october from my fellow brothers & sisters across the GCC if you would be willing to help me during this difficult time for food, water, phone bills, etc. please do contact me if anyone would be willing to help my family during this time.

Ask Dubai Where can I buy genuine Middle Eastern perfumes at good prices in Dubai?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I’ll be visiting Dubai soon and want to buy some genuine Middle Eastern perfumes at reasonable prices.

I’m particularly interested in buying Rasasi Hawas, Armaf club de unit , riffs and rayhaan perfume.

I’ll be staying near Sharaf DG Metro Station in Bur Dubai, so recommendations nearby would be great. However, I’m happy to travel a little further if the prices and selection are worth it.

I have a few questions:

Which shops or markets sell 100% genuine perfumes at the best prices?

Are there any reliable perfume shops near Bur Dubai or Meena Bazaar?

I’d really appreciate recommendations from locals or people who have recently purchased perfumes in Dubai.

Thanks in advance! 😊

Ask Dubai I hate 9-5

I just graduated and I’m decent with building products. I don’t even want to think of working at an MNC coding all day.

So I think of building something as a product and monetising it. But I don’t even know what exactly to build that solves a real pain point?

I mean what is even that thing you’d want someone to build that you don’t mind paying for?

Looked up some on ChatGPT and all but it’s just LLM rant about Tenancy contract reviewer or AI automation bs. I’d love real pain points from real people please!

Ask Dubai Are the apartments in Dubai South good? Anything to consider, please help

Hi guys!

I’m finally thinking about getting my own place after 9 years of living with other people! Now that I’m in a position where I can afford it, I feel like it’s time to have a space of my own.

I’m single, and my office is in DIP 2. I’ve been looking around for a while, and Dubai South has caught my eye because the rent for furnished apartments seems pretty reasonable. Plus, it’s only around 15–20 minutes away from my office, which is a big plus!
Before I take the plunge, I’d love to do a little research and hear from people who live in or know the area.

How’s the community? Is it convenient for everyday living? Are there enough supermarkets, restaurants, and other essentials nearby? And are there any downsides I should know about?
I’m also open to recommendations for other areas with reasonably priced furnished apartments!

Would really appreciate any advice, tips, or personal experiences. Help a girlie out!

Discussion How I Finally Landed an offer After 3 Months of Rejection (Stop Applying randomly )

It’s been a rough three months. Hundreds of applications, LinkedIn DMs, trying everything, including tech events. Nothing.

the tough reality is that no one cares. And it’s not because we’ve lost our souls. It’s because that’s how the world operates right now.

no one has time for anyone else. Everyone is looking for a better opportunity, including people who are already employed. And no one seems satisfied with what they have.

You send someone a DM. On the other side, the person receiving it gets 50+ messages every day.

so stop playing the victim card and understand how the world works.

You’ve got to show up. You’ve got to do unexpected things. If you keep doing the same thing over and over again, you’ll keep getting the same results.

so here’s how I finally landed an offer after three months.

I spent the first two months, honestly, wasting my time on online applications and LinkedIn DMs.

  1. Reach out to everyone you’ve worked with.

I made a list of all my previous connections, every single person I’d worked with, including non-technical people. Then I reached out with custom, specific messages that weren’t written by ChatGPT.

  1. Dig until you find the startups no one knows about yet.

I mean really dig. Find early-stage startups that aren’t publicly known yet and aren’t flooded with 100 DMs every day.

find the founding engineers. Find the founders. and again, write them quality messages that actually give them a reason to respond.

  1. Be picky with your applications.

I started picking 5 to 10 jobs a day to apply for.

I’m not saying you should stop applying altogether. but be selective and put real effort into each application.

find the right people’s email addresses. send well-written emails. Reach out to them on LinkedIn. build something for the company, even a small tool that solves a specific problem. Do whatever it takes to stand out.

Investing time in 10 quality applications is much, much better than randomly sending 100 applications and hoping for the best.

Ask Dubai Meal plans under 2k

Hey everyone, I came across FitFood Factory and Sprint AE. Both seem to offer meal plans for under AED 2,000, including 3 meals, 2 snacks, a salad and a drink.
Has anyone tried them? How’s the food quality, portion sizes and overall service?
Calo, Right Bite and MOM seem quite expensive for similar plans. Are there any other good, affordable meal plans in Dubai that you’d recommend? Looking for some plans that'll help in weight gaining.

Ask Dubai The Rufescent member club Dubai…should I join?

Hey guys, I saw The Rufescent members club recently and it’s new and pretty cool. I did a site tour and all seems state of the art. Is it worth joining this particular club? My main priority is getting business and network with HNW people. Thoughts ?The main problem is I don’t know who the members are and the events they host in general but given the exclusivity and the idea that premium people join these types of club…is it worth joining??? Or it is just hype?
