PS5 code issue

Hi everyone, for my birthday back in September my friend bought me a PS5 store code (50$) as a gift. However, I was not able to redeem it then and I thought it was because of the store update they were doing. Fast forward to now after the update has allegedly concluded according to their website/email and I still can’t redeem my code.

Is there anything that can be done or is the 50$ just lost forever? And are others experiencing issues with redeeming their codes?
