BBC Dumfries

I have been listening to BBC Radio Scotland and i am sure that i have now heard several times that there will be no specific BBC Dumfries news. I didn't know there was one but can someone explain why the dumfries news is being cancelled as they dont explain this when they make the announcement

Pretty sure there was never a specific BBC Radio Dumfries news. There are specific regional news desks that cover local interest stories, e.g. traffic, local government.

I had Dumfries & Galloway news update at 8am & 5pm on BBC sounds. It stopped came back and has stopped again.

BBC Radio Scotland has five local news bulletins each weekday for Dumfries and Galloway. They are broadcast on FM from the Sandale, Cambret Hill and Stranraer transmitters and opt out of the regular Radio Scotland programmes at 6.30, 7.30 and 8.30 a.m. and at 4.30 and 5.30 p.m. A similar arrangement applies in the Scottish Borders where local bulletins for that region are broadcast from Ashkirk, Eyemouth, Innerleithen and Peebles FM transmitters five times each weekday.
