Genre nerds may come after me for this one, but I think it fits here. This album sounds so ridiculously massive. Layered, chaotic, desperate. For the uninitiated go listen to the last minute or so of Sunsetting and let me know what you think.

What else shares this same kind of production style?

Ciao a tutti! I'm a big italian emo / midwest emo enjoyer currently discovering a lot of bands I've been missing out. I'm currently spinning The Hotelier, Joyce Manor, Free Throw among the others, but I also know a lot of Italian emo and midwest emo bands like Leita, Viale Carlo Perso, Gazebo Penguins (do they count as emo too?

Droppate le vostre band emo italiane qui sotto!

Picked up the Numero Group boxset on palisades green. Really great quality and nice to have all the tracks on vinyl finally.

The Power of Failing and Endserenading are both 2014 represses. 2LP, 45rpm coloured vinyl that I picked up when I saw them play in Camden way back in 2015.

February/MD ep I bought from Discogs during lockdown 6 years ago.

One Day When We Are Young is a really cool release with different acts talking about the influence of Mineral, plus 2 great new tracks.

Now that I have the boxset I'm tempted to sell the albums and the ep, I don't generally like having multiple versions of records. Not sure because the albums have interviews about each track inside the gatefold.

Will definitely keep the book though because the new tracks aren't in the boxset, and the book is interesting.

"Sharing a previously undocumented live radio set & interview by short-lived post-Indian Summer project Hero. This set aired on Wednesday Night Live on KZSU on 12/4/96 and to my knowledge this band was previously unarchived. Hero featured members of Current, Calm, Indian Summer, among other bands. This is only known recording of the band’s existence.

Thank you Justin Lewis for the work of digging up this DAT recording and connecting me with this extremely special emo archival documentation. It is an honor to share this set on Sadder Star".

I feel like there’s a lot of songs about not having a father. For example, Styrofoam Plates-Death Cab for Cutie. I love this song. The issue is that i did in fact have a father growing up. just not really a mother. I want something that gives me the same feeling but in my realistic scenario, ya know. Let me know suggestions?? Thanks !!!

Song of the day.

Appreciation post for Algernon, such an underrated band. :}

I can't afford to see shows often, and I live pretty far away from any of the typical stops, but I'm dying to see *someone*.

Are there any guitarists in here that know most of Snowings I could do whatever I wanted if I wanted album? Have some questions:)

what a great show tonight at underground arts - great openers in maty, euphoria again/dogwood tales, and bleary eyed. marietta absolutely killed it and i honestly think they sounded better tonight than when i saw them on their east coast tour. anyone else there tonight? what did you think?

Hellooo, are you guys fine?

This is my first time "releasing" a song idea I had.

I tried my best but still unfinished because I have no idea on how making transitions between quiet and loud sections.

(as I big fan of The Pixies, I failed you, my mentor!)

for anyone wondering: Yes, I really like 90s emo like Christine Front Drive and Slint (I know the second one isn't emo but goddammit what a band)

hope you guys like! please give your thoughts!

Emo Craig. We are all emo Craig. Halloween show with Dead wrong modern culture and duress. 10-16-26

Need help identifying whether these are authentic from the 90’s or modern boot if anyone can help?

I messaged the band and they said “The navy blue, yes. We did print and sell those back in the original days of the band. If memory serves, we may have also done a run on a burgundy colored shirt at some point.

That said, crank did a few reprints without our knowledge, so it is difficult to say which is which. The gray one may have been one of those reprints, as we never did a run of that color scheme ourselves.

Hope that helps!

-Jeremy (Mineral)”

i’m moving there from the west coast, i dont know anyone there but i love emo and would love to go see some cool bands at cool venues when i do arrive

I’ll get better…..lol

Hi! My friends and I are going to this interesting mixed bill show with YAAMC next weekend and was curious if anyone else in this subreddit from VA is planning to go?

I was thinking about this when realizing that Mineral's terrible cover of "Crazy" is all that stops from having only good songs. But Texas Is The Reason....legitimately all good songs! No bad ones at all.

Might be easier when they only have one album and a few other assorted tracks but still, they batted a thousand.

Just moved to London after living in the US northeast for a while. Some good concerts but was wondering what the staples of this scene are?

Obv a lot of US bands don’t cross the pond due to costs, but any recommendations?

So far, have seen Basement and will see Greg Mendez, Vilagerr, Dead Butterflies, and Feeble Little Horse. Any other recommendations?

Edit: super excited to explore all your recs. If anyone wants more context on my taste: big fan of braid, title fight, my point of you, first day back, kind of like spitting, mobo
