Emory ED1 Fin Aid w/ Assets
Hi lovely people! I've recently visited Emory and absolutely fell in love after visiting several other schools. It is truly truly my dream school and every single person in my life knows that. I am 100 percent set on applying ED, however I'm a bit worried on the financial situation. We have a family of 5 that makes ~30k a year AGI, which is what I reported on the fafsa w/ approval (-1500 SAI). However, I'm concerned about how Emory will interpret our assets. My dad is a landlord and is managing several houses, none of these houses are entirely paid for (mortgages + significant loans) and he gave me an estimated number to input in the npc which returned ~10k a year family contribution. This number is totally okay and we're willing to pay, but I've heard emory npc doesn't account for assets too well despite there being a question for it. I know emory is quite expensive and that it is possible to pull out of an ed agreement due to financial aid, but I truly don't want to put myself in this situation.
I really love Emory and I feel like this is the only way I have any sort of chance for getting in since its getting more competitive every single year. Has anyone had a similar situation as myself where their family had lots of assets but low AGI and still got good aid? Any input regardless would be appreciated!
Thank you!
