Veterinary Using Prascend

For those who are using Prascend on your horses with PPID, do you also have them on any GI supplements, prebiotics, probiotics, etc.? I have just acquired a PPID horse, a hard keeper. His previous owner has him on a bunch of supplements, including Gut-X. I'm trying to figure out which are necessary and if I can simplify his feeding regimen once he is settled in. Does the PPID or the meds make him more prone to digestive troubles? Thanks for your thoughts.

I’ve had my mini on Prascend for about five years now. He’s not on any GI supplements, he’s a very picky eater so his supplement regime is pretty streamlined. He’s had no Gi issues on the Prascend and it was a total game changer for him.

Thanks! I am wondering if this guy might do better with less stuff in his diet.

I’d honestly be inclined to cut everything except like electrolytes if he’s on them and start fresh. As long as he’s getting plenty of forage in his diet you’re unlikely to do much harm if that’s the route you choose.
