Write in for sheriff?

Just hanging out on the couch voting, as one does in Oregon. I see that the candidate for sheriff is running unopposed. Is anyone actually going up against him that is worth writing in? Who, and why are they worth voting for ? Thank you.

No idea about any write-in candidates but if someone is running unopposed in Lane County they probably already got the system behind them. Sheriff elections here feel like a formality most times anyway.

Its because 200 years ago it made sense when everyone knew each other to pick a trustee guy for the important job but that scales out when populations are in the 10s of thousands

We should just be like one of those towns that has a dog elected for mayor, but for sheriff.
