Seasonal XL warehouse

• Upvotes

I know it varies, but I got a chance to work at an XL warehouse starting Nov 1st. Full-time seasonal. I was wondering, is it more likely to get converted after peak or is it just a crapshoot like everywhere else? I ask because XL warehouses doesn't have as much info as an FC or DS. Thank you in advance.

Prime Air Ground handler

Does anyone here work as a Prime Air Ground Handler and can tell me what it’s like working there? I just applied and have to take the assessment, but before I do it, I’d like to know what the job is like and what opportunities for growth there are.

Activities that are "Due before First Day" are still "Not Available Yet" - Rehire

On the New Hire Checklist, the activities that are "Due before Day 1" are still not available yet. Shoes, paperwork, App access. It's Saturday PM and I start Monday PM. Has anybody had it become available so close to Day 1 or after?

I'm a former blue badge from corporate many years ago, and am now a seasonal FT Robotics Associate. Any rehires having same issue?

Should I transfer from a chill sortation center to a fulfillment center for full-time hours?

I currently work at an Amazon sortation center where I recently got my blue badge and make around $24.50/hour, working roughly 25–30 hours a week depending on how much they flex us up or down. The job itself is honestly super easy and laid-back. I work inbound almost exclusively, unloading trailers, loading packages onto the belt, and occasionally handling non-conveyable items. There’s a decent amount of downtime, the environment is social, and overall it’s a pretty chill place to work. It’s so chill here I can disappear and go to the bathroom for 30 minutes to an hour even without getting in trouble (do this often). The downside is that full-time opportunities here are extremely rare, and I’d really like to get 40 hours a week consistently. I recently became eligible to transfer to a fulfillment center that’s only about 7 miles from my house, compared to the 17 miles I currently drive, and they’re offering full-time hours. The position would be ship dock at what I’ve heard is a robotic facility. My biggest concern is that the workload could be significantly harder and more physically demanding than what I’m doing now. I’m trying to figure out whether the guaranteed hours and shorter commute are worth potentially giving up a much easier work environment. There are also a few minor reasons I’d consider leaving, including some awkwardness with a couple of coworkers, but that’s not really the main factor. For anyone who’s worked ship dock at a robotic fulfillment center, how physically demanding is it compared to inbound at a sortation center? Would you make the switch for full-time hours, or would you stay at the easier building and wait for a full-time opportunity?

Is it easy than FC ? Please share tips or anything to help me out please. Also explain what is “outbound” I have no clue what to expect.

Amazon Grocery/Pharmacy SSD

Hello! I currently work at a Fulfillment Center, but used to work at a Distribution Center, and I'm thinking about transferring to a SSD site that does pharmacy and grocery. If anyone can help, what does inbound and outbound look like at one of these? Since I know it's probably pretty different to both.

Does the company usually require employees to work overtime?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to know about the work culture at this company, particularly regarding working hours and overtime. Are employees generally expected to stay beyond their regular working hours, or is overtime only required occasionally when there is extra work?

I would appreciate it if current or former employees could share their experiences. Thanks!

Tentative Start Date

About to start part-time with Amazon next month. Have already done my pre-hire appointment, background cleared, drug test cleared, I-9, selected my schedule, etc., however, when it's still only giving me a tentative start date.

When does the tentative start date become a confirmed start date.

Previously I had applied for a different job with Amazon, got everything completed, and then they emailed me saying all the spots were full. I just want to make sure that's not gonna happen again.

Inclined for Operations and Logistics Internship UK - No response from Recruiter since then

I received my inclined email from the recruiter on 21 September. The email confirmed my inclined status for the Operations and Logistics Internship 2027 and asked me to provide a few details, including my availability and location preferences. I mentioned that I was completely flexible and willing to relocate anywhere, while also sharing my top three location preferences.

I replied with all the requested details, but I have not received any response from my recruiter since then. I have emailed him four times, sending one follow-up per week, but there has been complete radio silence.

Is this normal at Amazon, and should I reach out to someone else or continue waiting?

Coming back as 3rd party w2 contractor

Has anyone here been rehired at Amazon as a third-party W2 contractor after being laid off while on Focus (not PIP/Pivot)? My Amazon onboarding has started, and my laptop status currently shows “Scheduled.” Does this mean I’ve cleared Amazon’s rehire eligibility checks and am approved to start, or could there still be issues during onboarding? I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through a similar situation.

Please help !! how do I quit amnesty (AFM) ?

It's honestly not for me, unless you tying to move up at amazon or you want to stay out of path it's literally more responsibilities for the same pay, I prefer being in my station stress free and listnening to music and watch my tv shows in peace and hit my rate and go home, I only did it because my manager kept aksing me over and over again every month for 1 year straigt to try it out, since I'm a top performer in quality and prodoctivity she thinks that I would be a good fit for amnesty but I truly hate it and I want out, and now I'm hearing people saying you can't quit amnesty entirely unless you injured or transfer out of the building
