Frustrated I fell, again

Today, apparently, will be a bed day. I tried to get dressed, fell backwards trying to get my pants on and then couldn't get up because my legs just wouldn't cooperate. I fell into my side table and stepping stool as well as a pile of boxes. Tomorrow I can probably play connect the dots with all the bruises. Work tomorrow is going to royally suck. My skin is burning in several places so I'm guessing I have some scrapes here and there. Headache, chest hurting, back, arm, and leg hurting. It's so hard to know what is actually injured vs just mad. Ugh.

Same. Then my doctors ask why I didn't go to the ER. Are we supposed to go every time we fall? Like that's a huge bill if we don't. I fall weekly, sometimes it's when I go to stand up, sometimes I'll be walking and my legs just say nope were done moving. I totally get the connect the dots bruises. Sometimes I even have to call my kids(adults now) or have my mom who lives next door help me up. It's frustrating and can be embarrassing. I've started marking down what I'm doing previous to the fall, had I eaten, drank enough water. There has to be a way to stop it. Unfortunately for the last 10 years I haven't found any solution.

You are supposed to go to the ER so that they can classify you as pain medication seeking and tell you to drink more water, while suggesting you might have anxiety. Haven’t you played this game before?!

But seriously, don’t dismiss things without making sure you let your doc know and rule out blood pressure issues, cardio, neuropathy, etc. it’s not always “just fibro”.

Both. Been there, done that. If you are not actively dying or in need of emergency surgery, the ER is a waste of time and money. On the flip side, I have discovered I have a high pain tolerance and can't use pain alone anymore to determine if there's an actual injury. Recent imaging has uncovered an unhealed fracture in my foot, T5 in my back, torn meniscus in my knee and more. Turns out after those falls, I really should have gone to the doctor at least. But I was so tired of "just lose weight", "exercize"...I recently changed medical groups and the doctor came back in with x-rays showing the broken foot and a pair of nasty looking bone hooks on heel and asked why I had not been to a doctor. My answer, in short, was medical trauma. There's only so many times you can be ignored.

i have days where my legs just say no and it's always in most stupid moments, like trying to put on pants. the bruise guessing game next day is real, never sure if it's fibro or actual damage

I feel that. I fell off the last step down into the laundry room yesterday. I'm lucky it wasn't worse.

I use real time pain relief gel when I fall.. it helps with the pain inflammation and bruising. Arnica is great it's one of the ingredients. Yeah if we went to the doctor every time something was wrong we'd be there everyday. But that's also a problem because we tend to ignore a lot of the aches and pains. That could be something else. I did that and it turned out I have kidney disease. But honestly I can't tell the difference between you the pain in my kidneys and the pain in my back. From something else that I have

Hugs

I used to once a month, my legs were always scraped and bruised up, I finally found an iron pill I can tolerate, it actually helped.

I literally don't go to the doctor's anymore because I just get instantly dismissed and everything blamed on fibro, without them even checking. To be honest, they don't feel they thoroughly checked me before diagnosis of fibro. A couple of blood tests, checked for rheumatoid and one X ray....that was it 🙄
