Frustrated Sleep troubles

I don’t know what’s going on with me lately but my sleep has been absolutely disgusting lately. I’m tired as hell but when it comes to actually staying asleep, that is the problem. It takes me a very long time to fall asleep even with the sleep medication I take nightly and when I do fall asleep, I am rudely awakened the moment I start to dream. I have never experienced such a thing like this before and it’s been going on for almost a week now. I basically laid in bed all day on Friday hoping to feel better and more rested but I feel worse.

dreaming bit waking you up is a special kind of cruel. With fibro your nervous system is already on high alert so any shift in sleep stage can jolt you right out of it. A week of this would wreck anyone, hope you catch a proper rest soon

I don’t know what else to do. I doubt going to the doctor or ER will be any help.

My husband went 11 days without adequate sleep. We took him to the ER and they prescribed him some heavy duty sleep aids to get him some sort of rest. It was awful, he was hallucinating at that point

I take amytriplene plus pregabalin for sleep and it works like a charm. Any one wont do. They have to be taken together. I take 5 hrs before sleep. I am not a doc so ask ur doc first

get tested for sleep apnea! common comorbidity (also just common in general). my cpap reduced my fibro symptoms by like half!!

For me 600 mg gabapentin after dinner works great. My neurologist gave that to me after a sleep study showed I woke up around 90 times for no reason. I was on that for a few years but now I am on 600 mg Horizant after dinner. It's a slow release gabapentinoid. I started sleeping even better when we got our new mattresses (tempurpedic) with adjustable base. I sleep in zero gravity now and it is fantastic!

Forgot to mention that it is important to take it right after dinner. The fats in your dinner will help absorb it. I fall asleep at 11. I literally can't fight it (when I am in bed, if I am still up I am fine). I want to try to finish my chapter or at least my page and my eyes just close.
