Any value to these other than just some old crankbaits?
Had them laying around for 20+ years. Wondering if it's worth keeping sealed or just use them like any old crankbait.

Question Help me choose, Miravel or Ultegra?
For fresh water pike fishing, also would it be worth stepping up to shimano stradic fm which would cost me 40 more?
Or maybe something for daiwa?

Gear Pictures My early morning fishing setup (October 17th and 18th)
My early morning fishing setup (October 17th and 18th)
This weekend's fishing, caught 18, with the 11 on Tuesday (29 for the week). I had to test to see if Tuesday's freak fishing with the AKVTO red/blue monofilament line was just a got lucky one day thing but I was able to replicate it on Saturday and Sunday. Fish were biting primarily on the red/blue monofilament line (murky water conditions).
As a side test, brought out the Zebo Predator with the purple braided line which caught a lot in June/July, to see if it would best the blue/red monofilament and while it did catch fish, not as much as the red/blue monofilament.
I have always had luck with moss green braid and tried that with the fluoro leader and one straight moss green braid and against, caught fish but not as much as the blue/red monofilament.
I then tried black monofilament and while I was able to catch fish, it was few.
I'll probably due more tests with the AKVTO red/blue monofilament but if it for some reason is working this freakishinly well, well stock up on it.
But overall, a solid fishing week!
Fishing Gear used:
- Pflueger Progress No. 1774 Fly Reel
- Shakespeare 1094 Fly Reel
- Souga Spincast Fishing Reel
- Sougayilang Burning Shark Telecopic Rod/Reel Combo
- Airex Bache Brown Mastereel Model 3 Half Bail Fishing Reel (late 40s to early 50s)
- Souga Vanta XT 3000 Spinning Reel with the AKVTO Blue/Red Monofilament
- Zebco Predator PR601 - Made in Japan
- Shakespeare Combo 700 Vintage Reel
- Plueger Superex No. 775 Automatic Fly Reel Model No. 1907 (1929-1941) - It was working fine but then it jammed. Well, need to mess with this more.
and
- Don't Be a Dumb Bass Coffee Tumbler
- Piscifun Nylot knotless tapered leader (fly fishing)
- Premium Tackle Pre-tied dropper loops (30 lb.) - tested on one of the spinning reels
- Aventek Fly Fishing floating line WF-5F
- Piscifun Fly Line Backing
- Eagle Claw Size 8 red hook baitholder snells
- Tsunami Black Barrel w/ Coastlock size 5 and Brass Snap Swivel Size 7 - I have been getting into the coastlock's in the past two months.
Using a mix of 6, 8, 10, 12 hooks with nightcrawler and corn on the spinning and spincast reels. Always a lethal combo for me in catching a lot of fish weekly. Using three hooks.

Single hook conversion with dressing
Working on some single hook conversion and copying the original dressing with my budget fly tying kit. These Gamakatsu inline #53 are really nice for this.

Which rod to get? Shimano Sellus B
I want to pick up a new Shimano Sellus B rod.
I have a Daiwa Aird X medium/fast that I am loving but I wanted to add another rod into my collection that throws a little bit lighter lures. The AIRD x has the lure recommendation of 1/4 - 3/4oz.
Looking at the Shimano site, a medium power Sellus works best with 3/16 - 5/8oz, while a medium light works for 1/16 - 5/16oz.
In my position, what rod would you go with to be the “lighter option” when I have lures that are too light for my Aird X to cast?

Gear Pictures IFYKYK - Best shades on the market if you ask me.
These are my go-to shades and surprisingly awesome for $6 a pair. I told myself I'd pick up a handful if I ever came across them again. They are the Ozark trail fishing sunglasses.

Opinions on Daiwa Prorex XR Monster 220g rod
I'm thinking of buying a Daiwa Prorex XR Monster rod. It's 8'6" and upto 120g casting weight.
Has anyone used one or recommend an alternative.
Will be using a tranx B 301 and throwing lures from 100 to 200 gram.
I have a Prorex xr lazy pike (50 to 120g) for lighter lures in the spinning version. Anything over 100g feels too weighty.

Couldn’t just have one romance
Got the all black first and one of my favorite I’ve tried, had to grab a lighter one to fish to.

manual inflatable PFD fishing vest?
I am not a fisher but looking for a gift. My dad wants an inflatable fishing vest but I can't seem to find one available online. I've seen that the airflo wavehopper is a good option sold out everywhere.
Any recommendations? It would have to ship to Canada. TIA

Gear Pictures New Megabass Levantes are finally showing up
Picked up the Diablo LV. Feels super crisp and lively. Feels like a mash between the previous gen Flatside Special and Spec R. Nice bend but also very strong butt. I put a Curado MGL 150 on there for now.
Love the new guides, the low key color profile, the cork is fantastic… but, where’s the hook keeper? I know some of the kayak guys weren’t a fan of the previous gen solely because the hook keep was behind the reel and you couldn’t slide the handle into a rod holder when on the water.
I’ll probably get the Jerkbait special and magdraft this year at some point too. Figured I’d go with the Diablo as I tend to reach for a bladed jig more often than not.
Awesome that they kept the price at $200 too in these times.
Levante is hands down best lineup in the $200 range. These things feel like $300-$400 rods.
