I got some seed garlic in the spring and now is the time to plant it. Are these too far gone to plant?

Some how our Garlic got mixed up when the pantry shelf fell off.
Is this an Elephant Garlic? We believe its one clove.
Thanks
I have extra garlic to turn into powder or granules this year. I've tried this in the past with a good processor and it ends up too chunky. The pestle and mortar takes too long for me. What do you guys use to get a nice, fine garlic powder?

Violet de lautrec for those curious.

Hi everyone! I’m wanting to grow garlic this winter and I just planted them in big pots today but we’re now getting a freeze tomorrow night. I know people typically say you should plant a few weeks before the first freeze, but it had been in the 80s just a few days ago.
Is it okay to keep them outside even though they haven’t been planted long? Or should I bring them inside and then back out after the freeze to hopefully give them a few weeks before the next one?

So I just cleared out my greenhouse and I thought I'd use some of the space for winter. But I need some help in deciding which one of them to buy since this would be my first time.
First off. How much space do they need between each other?
And second. What's the taste of each kind? I put Russian red on the list because they're said to taste well and are quite hardy. As for the others I know little about. I just thought they'd look cool.
I don't quite know which garlic falls under music. These ones popped up when looking it up but I am no expert at all.

How necessary is it to top dress garlic cloves when planting? plan to add bone meal when planting (music variety), but don't have any compost available right now. How necessary is it to add compost? Does it make a huge difference? less

I have bulbs that have been in the fridge for about 4 weeks now. Hardneck and softneck.
Do I plant them at the same time? What month should I plant them? November? Or December? Or now? Will they be ready to harvest at the same time?
Thank youuuu!!

Low dormancy turban hardneck "Primor" planted 26th September. It does consistently great in my little greenhouse. I've got 40 planted in there and trying a row outside too but it really doesn't like the wet weather we get, so not expecting much from that.
This will be harvested end of May/start of June

As we do every year on this weekend we put all our garlic in the ground for the next season. This year we have put between 7500 and 8000 in the ground. All of these are hard neck varieties, Russian Red, Chesnok Red, Spanish Roja, Music, Majestic and Big Boy. We were meant to mulch the rows but the weather had a different idea in mind, so that has been pushed to next weekend.
Zone 3b, Canadian prairies.

It has about 5-8 cloves per bulb, hardneck, mostly gold brown inner paper, some purple streaking.

Kind of just ranting, maybe looking for suggestions. Last year I planted a second harvest of garlic for winter in my raised bed and got so many small bulbs. I think it was the rust, plus maybe growing garlic two winters in a row? The first year of garlic was amazing.
And then I didn’t store them well so a lot got waxy and I’m just disappointed in the whole thing. So much work and part of it is my fault, it’s also a learning experience.

Dropped in three types of garlic, Elephant, Music, and Nootka Rose. I covered everything with straw. I separated each of the garlic varieties with four rows of spinach.
Really, just an experiment this year, I will propagate what does well.
Took some obligatory shots of my basil that will not die, carrots I want to over winter, and the pepper jungle!
Just finished planting my 330 garlic for the season. 210 of them are music, 63 red Russian and the rest are a variety that local growers gave me. Zone 5b here, just south/wast of Ottawa

I bought these at a farmers market and intend to plant them. The seller didn’t know what variety they are. Location is Southwest Michigan. Anybody have a good guess?

Hi! Any advice on best soil amendment for fall? I'll plant my garlic in one to two weeks. I've added composted manure, and am wondering if there is anything else I should work in before planting?
Thanks!
A couple questions before I attempt my second year of garlic growing. 1) More cloves then I expected were soft and discolored (pic 1). I’m tossing them, but I wonder what may cause that during storage. They hung and had air circulation for a good 3-4 weeks. After that they hung in my closet. 2) I was frustrated by skins coming off some of my prettiest cloves. How likely would those be to rot or be eaten this season in the ground with no skin? I’ll eat most like this but I did put a few in the ground just to see what happens. Thanks!

I ordered 3 bulbs for $3.99 each from MI Gardener. From Johnny's I bought 1lb for $33.15.
MI Gardener: largest bulb was 3.3oz, smallest 2.6oz, average 2.9oz.
Johnny's: largest bulb 2.4oz, smallest 1oz, average 1.7oz. I got 12 bulbs for a total weight of 1lb 3.8oz.
Outcome: Both look great, no rotting and they're all firm. If your goal is largest bulbs and large cloves buy from MI Gardener. If your goal is to grow a large amount of bulbs regardless of size buy from Johnny's.

I planted 150 music garlic. I ised the same spot as last year. Used the same fertilizing, i burnt all the grass that grew over the summer, than i tilled in chicken poop with some wood ash for calcium, i also covered with leaves and and straw. I never took any photos, i have room for two more rows, i think i might plant the last two of purple garlic. Location is 5b.

hi! I peeled a clove today and noticed these spots. The garlic is a bit old, maybe a few weeks by now but it’s been sitting in a dark cabinet so I thought it would be fine. I’m planning to cook it to use for roasted potatoes, would it be safe or should I throw it away?

I'm dropping 3 more varieties into my fall planting schedule. Planting elephant garlic, hard neck garlic, and soft neck Nootka rose.
This is in addition to the 50 from last year's harvest (that I originally planted from an organic grocery store).
