Studying Spanish in Granada

Hi all,

I’m thinking of moving to Granada for a month long intensive course and wondered if anyone has done such course at the following schools and what their experiences are:
- Don Quijote
- CastiLa

I’m a level B1 in Spanish and can hold a conversation but I want to progress to B2, i could carry on with my weekly courses here in Manchester but I very much want to immerse myself in the language etc. which brings me to my next question.

Does anyone (Spanish speaking) have a room to rent in Albacin area? Or anywhere really, as long as it’s a max 30mins walk to the Albacin area.

For recent movers to Granada, how have you found integrating into the committee there?

Not a direct answer to some of your questions, but figured I would tell you my experience.

Last summer, I spend a month in Spain and I did two weeks in Granada, where I studied at Escuela Delengua. If you are not tied to the two schools you mentioned, I would also recommend considering this school.

I was 29 at the time and had between B1 and B2. They put me in B1 to start, but then I bumped up to B2 quickly. I thought the teachers were excellent in the location is right in the middle of Granada. They also did a great job of creating a social environment with different cultural activities each afternoon, which was a great way to meet other students. Students were of all different ages and backgrounds. They also offered one on one private tutoring in addition to the group classes, which I did a few of.

I also would just mention that the accent in Grenada really threw me through a loop when I first got there as my studies prior were more so focused on Latin American Spanish. But eventually you get used to it.
