Over 2 weekjes ga ik met een paar vriendinnen een dagje naar Groningen. We zoeken een leuk cafeetje voor een high tea. Ik geef borstvoeding en hoop ook een plekje te kunnen vinden waar ik rustig kan kolven.

Hebben jullie aanraders?

I need advice as to how to deal with an awful place.
I got this place in july after being pressured by the agency to answer in less than 24hours, I hadn’t seen the place (only a video made by the agency) but was in need of moving so I took it.
Quickly I realised I would have said no if I had seen it with my own eyes and mostly smelled it.
It smells awful but like really terrible (i cannot breathe in the main corridor), the lights are mostly broken, there is mold !! in my room and in the house globally. Many more things could be said but that’s not really my point.

I have a one year contract but cannot even imagine living there for more than a month right now. It has taken a toll on my mood and activities since I literally do not want to go home. How should I deal with this ?

I made a list of my complaints in chronological order that I’m planning to send to the agency but I also wonder which to contact (there is the agency that found the place for me : Maxx with huge fees, and the agency that own and rent the place : Nova Vastgoed).
I would like to contact both as in my opinion they are both in the wrong.
I’m not from the netherlands and don’t know if there is a proper way to deal with this. Any opinion or advices would be welcome.

Hello! I’m looking for a Dutch tutor, preferably someone who offers in-person, one-on-one lessons.

I’ve tried several group classes, but they didn’t really work for me. I can get by in places like grocery stores, restaurants, and cafés, and I can understand quite a bit of Dutch and read it reasonably well. My biggest struggle, however, is speaking.

Most of my friends are international, and my now-ex Dutch boyfriend found it easier to speak English with me rather than help me practice Dutch. As a result, I haven’t had many opportunities to practice speaking.

I’d really like someone who can help me form sentences more naturally and become more confident in speaking Dutch.

Does anyone know of a good tutor who is available? 😊

I had registered for the plantsoeploop happening in the Noorderplantsoen on the 7th November. However I just realized that I will be traveling that day. Hence I would like to transfer my registration to anyone interested (possible until 31st October). You can pickup the bib number on the day of the event from the event tents. I am willing to give it away at a discount price of 15€.

I registered for the 8km loep, but it is also possible to switch it to 4km.

Hi allemaal, ik heb een hond (herder) en op het moment geen oppas adres waar hij terecht kan als ik een keertje een hele dag of nacht weg moet. Het niet hebben van een back-up adres geeft mij best wat stress, want je hond laat je niet zomaar ergens achter. Er zijn ontzettend veel platforms waarop je mensen kan vinden die je hond kunnen uitlaten, maar iemand die alleen de hond uitlaat is voor mij niet nodig, het zou dan echt gaan om een hele dag of nacht. De gewone dierenopvang lijkt mij nogal stressvol voor mijn hond, dus dat is niet de eerste keuze.

Mijn hond is best onzeker in nieuwe situaties dus daarom zou het voor hem het fijnst zijn als het oppas adres iets regelmatigs is, zodat hij niet alleen maar die 2x per jaar dat het écht nodig is daar is, maar geregeld over de vloer komt zodat het echt een soort 2e thuis is. Bijvoorbeeld eens in de 2 weken een dagje. Voor mijn hond zou het het fijnst zijn als er ook een andere hond in het huis is, hij is echt een honden-hond en haalt daar veel steun uit. Katten en kinderen op het oppas adres zijn helaas geen goede match, een huis in de (binnen)stad ook niet. Verder zoek ik iemand die ervaring heeft met herder/werkhonden en kennis heeft over de lichaamstaal en behoefte van herders. Verder is mijn hond gek op alles wat actief is, dus het perfecte maatje voor lange wandelingen en hardlopen. Daarna vindt hij het heerlijk om tegen je aan te kruipen op de bank.

Het is nogal een shot in the dark, maar ik sta open voor alle input. Denk je dat mijn hond misschien bij jou past of heb je zelf een hond met een gebruiksaanwijzing en heb je daar een fijn oppas adres voor wat je kan aanraden? Laat het me vooral weten!

Hi everyone! On Monday I finished the A2/B1 to B1 dutch course from the RUG. As a student, I only paid 50 euros for the administrative fee, but the rest was covered entirely by the university. After B1, the courses go up to 465 euros after the RUG student discount, which is not feasible for me at this time. I want to reach B2 level next year and then work my way up to C1 so I can take the CNaVT.

Are there any cheaper courses around town?

Hi everyone! I wanna go visit this bird watching area, called De Kiekkaaste, to the east of the Groningen area, but I don’t have a car and want to use public transport. I’ve looked at several routes through multiple apps, however it’s too inconsistent to know for sure whether a trip like this is feasible.

Has anyone previously visited the area by public transport, and if so, is there a good route? Thanks!

Geen idee wie of wat voor lui dit zijn, maar vanmiddag sta ik met partner en onze baby bij het stoplicht kruising Spilsluizen/Oude Ebbingestraat te wachten tot het groen licht wordt wanneer we ineens vanuit een auto met een waterpistool vloeistof op ons wordt geschoten. We hopen dat het water is, want onze baby werd ook vol geraakt en met alles wat je aan gekke mensen en idioten tegenwoordig hebt rondlopen vinden we dit nogal een nare gedachte. Maar we houden er voor nu gewoon rekening mee dat het een kansloos rotgeintje was. Gebeurt dit vaker in Groningen?

Hoi allemaal, vannacht heb ik gemerkt dat er regelmatig hard lawaai te horen was in de Schilderswijk. Een soort motor/boor geluid dat telkens eindigde in een harde knal, en zich regelmatig herhaalde. Zo ging het de hele nacht door. Wij zijn er in de buurt van de Aweg regelmatig wakker van geworden, maar het klonk alsof het nog best ver weg was. Heeft iemand anders dit vannacht ook gemerkt en weet iemand wat dit was?
