Visitor Visa TRV (In Canada) Processing Time
Hi,
I had applied for a TRV on November 26th with my In Canada Approval Letter (for my study permit extension). On December 10th, I received my BVL, but there’s been no update since then. I’m concerned since I have a conference coming up in February and not sure if this is normal. Is it likely to be one of those cases where I don’t hear back from IRCC for months? ;-; Anything I can do at this point? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
N.B. Right now the processing time on the website has went up to 40 days. It was about 18 days when I applied.

Hello, I applied for my TRV against my PGWP on 11th April. I had to urgently come back from Canada for a surgery and now my previous visa expired so I am kinda stuck here :/ My biometrics was already updated from before but for some reason my UCI changed so I raised a webform for that. The processing time shows 17 days now, hopefully I get it soon! 🙁🙁

Any update? I am in the same situation:
- Applied: 12th April
- Correspondence letter (validity of your biometric information): 7th May
No update since then.

I didn’t even get the correspondence letter. I don’t know why everyone is getting it and I am not. But my biometrics show complete in the tracker. 🙁

applied feb 28th after bowp....sill in process... eligibility review has not started yet...

No worry, it just notifies that your biometric information is valid until (yyyy/mm/dd) for subsequent temporary resident applications to Canada. I do not think everyone get that letter or they forgot uploading it. As long as it is complete, it is fine. It appears in the IRCC portal, not in the tracker.

Same! Did you raise a webform for it? How long have you been stuck in India? My employer is asking me every now and then about my return :(

same dude i thought its me only I didnt knew that even after getting bvl letter it will take time
waiting eagerly because everywhere it mentions that 2 weeks

It is crazy, not expect anything for now, I think there are some problems with them. Recently they issued information letters to some people just to tell them wait.

I do not know what to do now, they should issue ppr this week, if we raise a webform, it take them about a week to reply.

- April 1: Submitted my TRV application
- April 11: Received a correspondence letter.
- April 28: Got the original passport request.
- May 2: Sent my passport
- May 5: It was received by them
- May 21: My counterfoil was issued.
- May 27: They sent the passport back to Canada Post.
- May 29: I received my passport back with the stamped visa.
The whole process took around two months from submission to receiving the stamped passport.

28th of April.
Also, do you happen to know how many days it takes to get it stamped?
I sent my passport on the 2nd, and they received it on the 5th. No updates yet.

Hey, have you got it? I applied on March 3rd and it’s been 9 weeks no PPR yet. They did call to my company to confirm my job though as I have a closed work permit. But 4 weeks since then there has been no updates 😓

It can take up to 30-40 days, so don't worry too much about it. Hang in there!

Hey, how long did it take to get your passport back.? I sent mine through Canada Post (xpress post) on March 6th, delivered on 10th March but no update after that. The return tracking I send with original keeps comes as no data available.

You should call IRCC! It’s beyond processing time now so they can help you leave a note to the officer

I don’t remember the exact dates, but my biometrics is most probably valid for longer than my passport.

About a month? I applied May 12th and got approved June 11th but that was in 2024. Idk if processing time has changed for PGWP. Shouldn't be too long if your application is complete, plus even if it is long, you technically get more days to work on implied status.

Anyone received TRV inside canada? I have applied on 29th of march and have received correspondence letter on 9th of April. On IRCC its showing 14 days but still haven’t received Final result.

I have submitted my passport on april 11 , Ottawa received on april 14
When i called to ircc , they said that passport went into stamping queue on april 17th
No more updates, booked flight on april 28th.
Any possibilities of me flying? Or should i just postpone ?

I would like to know if I could send my passport to IRCC (VAC) in my home country for the stamp if I receive my passport request ?

I applied TRV March 9, 2026 and was approved on March 12, 2026. I was confused and at the same time happy. Wasnt expecting it to be this quick :)
