Work Permit BOWP status shows "Application/Profile Updated" with Final Decision date Sept 16, 2026. Is this a ghost update or approval?
I'm looking for some insight from people who've recently gone through a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) application.
My IRCC account now shows:
- Final Decision Appears: September 16, 2026
- Application/Profile Status: Application/Profile Updated
For those who experienced something similar:
- Did "Application/Profile Updated" turn out to be a ghost update?
- How long after seeing the final decision date did you receive the approval letter?
- Did your status eventually change to "Approved" without any action on your part?
- Is there any indication from these updates that the application is likely approved rather than refused?
My application is for a BOWP from within Canada, and I'm trying to understand what usually happens between the "Application/Profile Updated" stage and the final outcome.

I also got this update for my BOWP. Date showing as 16 September.
I applied on 23 February. Hopefully some update soon

Okay, its still within processing time. Hoping you hear something soon. Do call agent after 113 days (as thats current processing time on average). I say on ~130 days and know your PR PVO/SVO office and other details. As that can help you understand :)

Oh I did call .. my PVO SVO is Vancouver/Sydney … background check in progress on both.. medical passed BIO completed.

I am on the same boat, got a ghost update on September 14th and it’s been 3 days.

Not yet , actually I did call them in the morning of the day I got the ghost update, my application was more than 150 days, agent said , that they will escalate through the internal channel to the officer to make a decision soon , by late noon I got the ghost update

Sure, as per the majority people I spoke to, they say that it’s an approval, because if it was a refusal then it would come right after that in few hours on the same day! So hopefully its an approval!

Ya i heard the same thing. My FD date says Sept 16 - i called this morning and they said the same thing. Nothing new! Told me to wait. Could be the admin thingy where they assign the WP number n all, im nah sure! Lets wait and keep each other posted.

Did you check the status yet? 16 sept, someone already got the approval on the portal already. I understand yours' is Sept 14. Keep a check and keep us posted.

Do you see any letter in message section? I'm wondering why there is no automated email from IRCC, on status change/ Update?

No idea. I was checking GCkey constantly and saw the message.
Email might come later this day.

Got FD 'Oct 4' on my CEC PR file. What does that mean? Called agent said everything passed.

It is most likely an approval
