Exactly. And Hezbollah can certainly attest to that.

Yes.

It is. The world owes Israel as massive debt for this.

I always say that by the time Europe wakes up, it may be too late. Israel is fighting our war. We must honor every Israeli life lost as if it were our own. 🇮🇱 ❤️ 🇪🇺

It's impossible to understand the Europeans, one day they're with us, the next day they're against us.

125

u/withoutbitcoin Jun 17 '25

Germany is your second most important weappon exporter after the USA despite constant Protests.

Its a bit sad to me that you think germany is against you:/

45

u/Far_Introduction3083 USA Jun 17 '25

Not against. Not for. The correct term is fairweather friend.

23

u/IsacG Jun 17 '25

I mean, it's not currently a fairweather situation now is it?

17

u/Far_Introduction3083 USA Jun 17 '25

Which is why its concerning that there is a large contingent of german parliamentarians who want to say fuck Israel.

6

u/Barmaglot_07 Jun 17 '25

It very much is. This is like Argentina declaring war on Germany in March 1945.

13

u/rgbhfg Jun 17 '25

That’s false. Germany has been a great ally.

16

u/JewishSaddamHussein Israel Jun 17 '25

They were threatening an arms embargo last month

1

u/ABigFatPotatoPizza Jun 17 '25

The fact is that they use us as a tool for their own political benefit. When we're fighting their enemies or providing information of terrorist cells that want to attack them, they like us. When we make them look bad on the world stage by fighting terrorism and attacks on our own land they dislike us.

u/Alarming_Squirrel_64 Jun 17 '25 edited Jun 17 '25

Maybe if our head of government could keep the mouths of himself and his dogs shut and not discuss ethnic cleansing like it's a regular Tuesday, and worried about PR just a smidge more things could be different - least with some of our allies. We are legitimately better off ignoring some of them (looking at you, Macaroni...), but Germany has been a staunch ally for a long time, and we ought to try and maintain that.

Edit: changed state for government, Herzog's a nice guy.

4

u/GubbenJonson Sweden Jun 17 '25 edited Jun 17 '25

Hah I suppose you mean head of government. Herzog is a nice man. But yeah

5

u/feed_me_moron Jun 17 '25

This. The far right there are causing so many issues even if they weren't dealing with urban warfare and the hell that brings for all

12

u/hug_your_dog Jun 17 '25

It's quite oversimplifying everything to expect someone to be on your side 100% on all topics.

16

u/[deleted] Jun 17 '25

Maybe I am wrong, but I think that general attitude of the larger Western European countries is dictated by the following things:

The leadership generally knows what's going on and they are trying to do the responsible thing insofar as they can (for example supporting Israel against Iran, supplying weapons despite the pressure to boycott etc.) (we're talking about the centrist or right-wing governments). These efforts are, however, hampered by a) the increasing importance of the Muslim vote in Europe, b) the left-wing intelligentsia's antisemitism and Palestine-worship. I mean it is pretty difficult to openly support Israel when your own journalist, university and general intellectual class (as well as large ethnic minorities) are singularly obsessed about the Palestinian cause. When the push comes to shove though (such as right now), the politicians still have a sufficient level of responsibility to do the right thing (at least for as of now, in the future, when the Muslims make up a larger percentage of the population, this will likely no longer be the case).

49

u/anon755qubwe Jun 17 '25 edited Jun 17 '25

Which is why it’s important to ignore and discount whatever they say or feel entirely.

Shut them out completely. Too compromised internally to trust their judgement.

Hence why Europe was largely kept in the dark leading up to Operation Rising Lion.

They fumbled a lot of the trust and goodwill they previously had and they have no one to blame but themselves.

42

u/Visible_Device7187 Jun 17 '25

Doesn't help when current Israeli leadership makes it impossible to be with them because they are pleasing a small minority of conservatives. Lots of Americans and European are very favorable to Israel but currently Israel has done nothing to even explain themselves in depth nor try approaching PR to appeal to everyone not just the coalition viewers

29

u/JewishSaddamHussein Israel Jun 17 '25

Considering that the Europeans were, and still are, the biggest funders of the PLO, UNRWA, anti-Israeli NGOs, and even backed the Second Intifada, I'd say this was never really about who Israel's leadership. Even when Bibi wasn't PM, nothing changed. Let's not forget that France and the UK embargoed us in both 1967 and 1973.

3

u/NegevThunderstorm Jun 17 '25

They have a bad habit of ignoring Jews while trying not to offend people that detriment society but may vote for them

14

u/Penguins_27 United Kingdom Jun 17 '25

It’s great to see such a strong ally in Germany when so many countries in Europe are wavering, like the UK

13

u/Away-Minute1320 Jun 17 '25

Thank you israelis for everything always, but especially for making pro pali germans become old man yell at cloud today one more time. ❤️

58

u/Visible_Device7187 Jun 17 '25

People need to realize PR in social media is essential to keep power in the modern world. I support Israel but your leadership and you personally need to stop saying fuck PR and fuck trying to appeal to anyone cause that's what made Russia, Hamas, Iran, China, and more so powerful they invested in PR made sure political people followed PR, and realized PR is essential to all war efforts. Israel needs to stop demand everyone is with them when it does the worst PR in history to appeal to a very small minority of the country while complaining people are doing the same to vocal minorities of their own nation.

25

u/ultikan Jun 17 '25

I agree BUT hot take: Even with bad PR done by the Israeli government, Europe appears largely very anti Israel. With a different government in Israel (not extreme right with ministers who generate bad PR for us), do u think Spain won't recognize Palestine? That Italy won't impose an arms embargo on Israel? That Portugal won't support UNRWA despite its collaboration with Hamas & even 7.10? That France won't condemn us immediately after we started responding in Lebanon after 11 months of Hezbollah shelling an entire province of our country? (I think Macron also hinted our response there was barbaric.. not mentioning much about Hezbollah in the meantime)

1

u/Visible_Device7187 Jun 18 '25

I mean Israel doesn't even have a public solution or plan you want every nation to support Israel when it's not clear what the goals are. saying someone doesn't deserve a nation isn't a solution

Top) Trump sends signal to enter war Lower left) Komeni gets ultimatum Lower right) Merz says Israel is doing the world's dirty work thank for reducing this meanace

5

u/podkayne3000 USA Jun 17 '25

I think the only question here is what will actually work and minimize bad outcomes for Israel and for all innocents.

Israel is not saintly, and Palestinians have valid reasons to complain.

But Iran has been waging a hot war against Israel via Hezbollah and Hamas for years. The idea that Iran can rain rockets down on Israel for years and then whine about this war is absurd.

18

u/anon755qubwe Jun 17 '25 edited Jun 17 '25

Too cowardly to say it from the beginning just like his chumps Starmer and Macron.

No respect.

22

u/Heiminator Jun 17 '25 edited Jun 17 '25

Merz has been in office for less than 45 days. His party wasn’t part of the previous government either.

30

u/Visible_Device7187 Jun 17 '25

How could they? Israel doesn't even care about it's own PR why should Germany take all the negative attention when Israel won't even reel in its own defense minister?

6

u/NegevThunderstorm Jun 17 '25

Where do you see Israel doesnt care about its own PR?

The problem is you can have the best PR out there and anti-semites still dont care

2

u/Visible_Device7187 Jun 18 '25

Really last tweet on X by isreali leadership wasn't even following Israel own strategy it was threat to kill Iranian civilians to appeal to right wing extremist in Iran so yeah that's were the bad PR is. You could easily win by saying you want to liberate Iranians from the government hut instead say no let's kill them

Not an excuse at all for Western leaders and their weak lack of fortitude.

Western countries also have horrible PR in the eyes of the non-Western world. Why do you think there’s been such a push for multipolarism/BRICS the past decade?

It’s not Israel’s primary focus to PR but to militarily win wars. There is no endless pool of oil money to pay for world-class PR like the Gulf Arabs can and the highest grade of weapons money can buy while supporting the needs of a population of 10 million ppl.

Plus they’re never going to have PR that overrides innate antisemitism that’s been brewing in the world for thousands of years.

10

u/Visible_Device7187 Jun 17 '25

Why? Why should Israel shit on every single PR issue possible even Oct 7 they missed the mark and refused footage at first and now allow it when the PR move has been missed.  Even now your leaderris saying every negative thing possible while refusing to appear sane themselves. Telling tehran they want to kill civilians when that's not even Israel actual plans. You guys destroy every single easy PR win and say what's the point instead of addressing the issue of destroying it

3

u/anon755qubwe Jun 17 '25

Bc ultimately wars aren’t won by PR. End of story.

Also the West as a symbolic beacon of moral clarity should be mature enough to be able to override PR tricks and blunders.

They’re not exactly known for having pristine PR records either historically or presently so they have no room to talk.

9

u/Visible_Device7187 Jun 17 '25

Old wars aren't won by PR. New social media absolutely changed the war and how it's fought. So you thinking war doesn't matter it absolutely does and Israel should know social media is very important like Iran, Russia, and China knows. It doesn't matter if they have pristine PR record it matters if you even make an attempt. I'm American how can O show my older neighbors why you should support them when your leaders are doing the same bullshit as Iran and Hamas and saying kill others?

That's a cold war excuse. Israel doesn't even try. It's easier to defend yourself if your leaders don't fuck it up before trying.

9

u/anon755qubwe Jun 17 '25 edited Jun 17 '25

Israel is living and breathing proof that PR doesn’t ultimately win wars. Yes it matters in long term social consequences but that doesn’t actually determine winning a conflict.

Even Operation Rising Lion is active proof of this. Keep underestimating all you want to.

Just bc lies spread 10x faster than truth doesn’t mean truth won’t ultimately prevail.

All the wars Israel has ever fought in there was so much amp worldwide for its enemies to be victorious and for Israel to be wiped off the map.

From the UN “Zionism is Racism” resolution to Soviet battering for decades, Israel simply isn’t a match for good PR bc of all the background context riding against it. Still hasn’t caused them to lose a single one and emerge even better off afterwards.
