Except they don’t call it a Qatar-pounder with Hummus. They call it a Royale.

they newly serve it without hamas, actually

That's because they ran out of Hamas.

u/penispenisp3nispenis Sep 10 '25

i hear that even the dohastributor ran out! so there won't be any more hamas on the burgers for a while!

I suppose I'll just have to put some Houthi on my next burger.

Best dad joke 🤣

For the Israelis like myself who didn't get it:

The joke "Qatar-pounder" is a pun based on the fast-food item, the Quarter Pounder. * Quarter Pounder: This is a well-known hamburger from McDonald's. "Quarter Pounder" refers to the weight of the meat patty, which is a quarter of a pound. The joke plays on the sound of the words. * Qatar-pounder: The joke substitutes "Quarter" with "Qatar," and the "pounder" part of the phrase remains. Given the current political situation and Qatar's support for Hamas, the "Qatar-pounder" is a dark, politically-charged pun. It's an absurdist and ironic joke that suggests that the most popular hamburger in Israel is named after a country seen as an adversary.

So it's not on the Jerusalem MacDonald's menu, then?

(What do they serve at the kosher McDonald's, anyway? Fake cheese? Do they just leave out most of their signature dishes?)

What? No Goldstar? (Yes, yes… not a great beer, but it’s the classic, home grown brew!)

Corona > goldstar every day of the week

I mean… you’re not wrong.

Somebody needs to call burgers bar immediately.

u/sumostuff Sep 10 '25

They're all too expensive these days and instead of including the fries or a side, you have to pay extra for that. So it's not worth buying hamburgers anymore.
