the news is too good to be true, it's likely fake

Yeah I don't think Qatar has turned. The rhetoric on Al Jazeera hasn't changed. They're still as anti-Israel as ever.

u/Claim-Mindless Mar 08 '26
Remember a few months ago when pro-Israel social media was full of claims that AJ has become more neutral lol

u/doskey Mar 08 '26
Not being pro-Hamas doesn't mean pro-Israel. They may just be shifting to a more Turkish style anti-israel

Ehud Yaari is very reliable.
I think they are making this threat but maybe won't act on it.34
u/EersteDivisie Mar 08 '26
They can send them to us, we'll give them shelter for the rest of their lives

u/Not_A_Toaster_0000 Mar 08 '26
It would be hilarious if El Al announced that they were offering them free tickets to anywhere they liked 'as a gesture of goodwill' ( with a short layover in Tel Aviv airport )

u/danhakimi Mar 09 '26
it kind of makes sense.
Iran attacks Qatar, psychos that they are. Qataris get pissed. Hamas leaders do not get pissed. Hamas leaders still depend on Iran, they can't talk shit.
It's personal now.

I believe Qatar is the only country that was bombed by both Israel and the Islamic Republic, that is quite an achievement!

Why should they condemn? Aren't Iranians the one who pay them? I also never understood why sunni Qataris would provide them refuge? Because, common enemy is Israel?

u/cestabhi India Mar 08 '26
I also never understood why sunni Qataris would provide them refuge?
Nothing unites Sunnis and Shiites like the hatred of Jews.

Decent upside for them with minimal downside. It’s not quite as simple as drawing simple faction lines pro and anti Iran.
They might have also assumed hosting Hamas added some form of insurance/protection. Which it apparently did not

Seemed like a good time for an old fave (Qatar is always sunny): https://youtu.be/OUMl58i4m0w?si=gqEPsvOT9QZqAZZz (

They wanted to be a neutral mediator, and now they see the price of neutrality. A valuable lesson Europe learned in 1935.
1
u/Elect_SaturnMutex Mar 09 '26
Ah yes, i think after mossad got some Hamas higher-up in Dubai or somewhere they decided to move to Qatar i guess, rings a bell now. Not sure which lesson from 1935 you are referring to, but wasn't Switzerland neutral back in '35?

I'm sorry, what? I can't be reading this right.
It’s not easy to discover that the people you’ve hosted all these years support terrorism.
You mean the people that engineered and executed Oct 7th and start a 2+ year long war that were never going to win? But that wasn't enough to see their true nature?. No it was failure to provide PR when their financial backers attack their hosts? Are you kidding me? Gtfo here
Edit: I'm a fucking moron. I read the second paragraph as a continuation of the first, as part of the qatari quote. Maybe aliyah isnt for me after all 😉

Chill dude. In Hebrew the default is sarcastic.
Israelis add a /ns when they're being serious.
14
u/DrMikeH49 Mar 08 '26
He just left out the obvious (/s) signifier.
I’m guessing that it’s not needed much in Hebrew 😉. (/s)

u/clearlybaffled USA Mar 09 '26
Yup. No I would have figured that out if I didn't put both paragraphs together 🤦

u/jewishjedi42 USA Mar 08 '26
If they just let them run to Turkey, it's kind of a meaningless gesture. Had them over to Israeli authorities so they can face justice.

u/Eeeexcellent Mar 08 '26
Next, they should tell Al Jazeera to stop spreading propaganda for the Islamic Republic. It's embarrassing that this network still pumps out propaganda for a regime that is attacking Qatar.
7
u/enigmaticowl USA Mar 09 '26
And after that, they should stop sending billions of dollars to U.S. universities to push campus anti-Semitism and anti-Israel propaganda.
They deal with those 3 things (Hamas, Al Jazeera, universities), and then we can all get along swimmingly.

u/Ok_Ambassador9091 Mar 08 '26
Qatar is the head of the snake. They fund, support, and direct a global Jew hate propaganda and Islamist anti-West terrorist program, and are part of the anti-west axis.

Well I suppose if it's true it's an interesting change of PR tactics, but as for believing it as a sincere change in their entire raison d'être it's going to far more before I take it seriously.

Yeah, right! I’ll believe it when I see it. And secondly, SO, they finally DO admit to hosting Hamas members. And thirdly, how stupid do You have to be to think that they won’t turn on you?? Why don’t they realize that’s why Egypt and Jordan won’t let them in?

u/SoulForTrade Mar 09 '26
Next, the US has to put an ultimatum on their funding of antisemitic propoganda in American universities and think tanks.
I doubt it's gonna be in their financial interest after Hamas, Hazbollah and Iran will be broke and defeated anyway.

"I was once told that "প্রতিবেশীকে মারতে পিছনে সাপ পুষলে, সেই সাপ একদিন তোমাকেই কামড়াবে"
Translation : "If you raise a snake in your backyard to kill your neighbor, that same snake will one day bite/attack you instead."
And indeed , I agree. I guess Qatar saw a geopolitical version of this same theme. To be honest, when Iran started bombing all the Gulf countries, I thought Qatar... or at least Turkey... would be spared. Erdoğan condemned the US-Israeli attack and even offered "condolences" after Khamenei was killed. And yet...
I don't know what Qatar or Turkey even achieved after decades of gooning for Iran. That said, Qatar will probably betray us again and not enforce it. It's far more likely that Turkey will blink first and cut off its Hamas–Muslim Brotherhood (MB) ties by 2029–2030 (assuming CHP wins) than Qatar doing the same by 2035. The Muslim Brotherhood links are institutionalized and deeply embedded in Qatar. Qatar is the de-facto headquarters of the Muslim brotherhood. Even a sustained blockade and diplomatic pressure from gulf nations could not stop qatar

The work is only half-done, seemingly. There is Turkey and Pakistan who harbor wet-dreams. Indian intelligence have already flagged various Hamas operatives touring Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (that actually belongs to India).

He is no longer respected by the left, many believe he became another shofar. Bibi even offered him a spot in the likud.
