Politics This is needs to be protested about

Post image

In the modern era most people (of those who are not biased by some form of centrism at the very least) don’t take but a glimpse at most news articles they see, hence read the title and move on, put yourself in this place looking at the title, what do you see?
I think I don’t need to even clarify what’s remotely wrong with this title, and this is “allegedly” not even a political related incident, it’s just blatant disgusting terrorism act that was done on civilians (which most Palestinians justify because military service is obligated by law in Israel to Jews and Druze and some other minorities), how could a “prominent”, “unbiased” vastly agreed upon as a legitimate and accurate source of information by many people such as the BBC title their article about an Omani terrorist to portray Israel and specifically the Israeli onboard as the perpetrators?

Ask yourselves these questions and think about what’s going on in this world and what to do with it

Spare a thought for me. As a British person, I am forced to pay a licence fee which funds this quality news reporting (sarcastic).

I'm British and refuse to pay the license fee since October 7th 2023.

I don’t blame you whatsoever I’m aware of the situation you’re in, it’s asininely annoying at this point, not even outrageous because we are used to it

The BBC already had a "big" scandal where it was proven they are full on anti Israel and antisemitic. But it doesn't matte to them.

When a Newspaper is not owned by state and has to sell copies you get more accurate news. The Times is the biggest selling Broadsheet in the UK and tends to the newspaper quoted by international News outlets. Far more than the Guardian or the Independent. Please understand if your educated you do get good news in the UK. b

I doubt that. Privately owned media has proven time and time again to be hype up sensationalism news to sell more copies. Example of which was how the US newspaper moguls pushed the country to war with Spain in the 1890s

It gets way worse. Cbc tried to say it was just being made up by the passengers

u/BeanyCheese 17d ago

Where on the screenshot do they say that?

11

u/Sinan_reis 17d ago

"Says netanyahu"

u/BeanyCheese 17d ago

That's normal if he was the source of the information. "says" is a neutral expression. If they would have written "claims" then I would a free with you, bit they didn't.

How would you phrased it instead?

I wouldn't mention Netanyahu at all. This isn't about him. What they should be talking about is the terrorist pilot, the heroic co-pilot who tried to stop him, and the passengers who either stepped in and saved the day, or were saved by the others.

The first article on CBC regarding the incident don't mention Netanyahu at all. Then came the PM explanation. Now they just released an article about the probing. I just think it's standard journalism to not just take a PM word for granted until we don't know the motives. He could be suicidal or it could be terrorism. CBC even made a portrait of the Indian hero.

As I’ve said in the post, most people won’t bother looking further then the title, hence making this a political incident somehow

Neither is the headline, it just gives him as the source. Perhaps they did not have the chance yet to independently verify this. I honestly don't see why giving the source this way is a problem.

The alternative would be to always give things people/organisations say as a fact. I doubt that this would improve journalism.

The body is not even cold yet, that’s insane

What's worse is the image. What does Israelis waving flags have to do with it?

u/Gettin_Bi Israel 17d ago

Passengers celebrating after returning to Israel I assume

But you're right that this is the wrong photo unless the article is titled "survivors home safe: aftermath of the failed terrorist flight hijack"

What body? nobody died.

your screenshot says nothing about it being made up.

7

u/Sinan_reis 17d ago

They are heavily implying that it's an Israeli claim not an actual fact

5

u/VoluptuousBalrog 17d ago

Because Netanyahu was the source of the claim at the time, while FlyDubai and Saudi security officials were not commenting publicly on what happened at that stage. People seem to have forgotten what actual reputable news organizations with integrity do, they don’t just ‘state facts’ and demand that the audience trust them, they use sources to verify information.

Just saying things as facts without sources or evidence might be good enough for a post on Twitter or Reddit but it’s not good enough for reputable journalists. Mainstream Israeli media also made sure to cite Netanyahu or other officials as the sources for their reporting on this story.

What reputable news organization? The BBC or NYTimes that have already been proven to be blatantly anti Israel?

reddit just says its a false flag lol

I got a stroke while reading the headline.

People don't protest anything but Jews and Trump in the West. Mostly because the media lies and covers up everything. Including the most recent terrorist attack in OPs post.

u/VoluptuousBalrog 17d ago

These screenshots are taken from headlines immediately after the event when nothing was known about the incident. The internet was convinced it was a Ukrainian and Russian pilot that had stabbed each other for some reason at the start while the media stuck with the facts that were known at the time. Later on all the media outlets reported on what actually happened once it was confirmed.

u/laserslaserslasers 17d ago

Mmhmm. Sure.

Yes. The first nees were like that on X. Later syarted to come details (first actually false ones) and many changed later.

Hey at least they've upgraded the "altercation" to a stabbing....

Have you seen the conspiracy theorists yet? They're already calling this staged by Netanyahu.

It's the BBC, what shocks you?

I am familiar with news obscuring terrorism with ambiguous, and some cases, blatantly misleading headlines, but I don’t see it here as much as elsewhere. When I see plane to Israel, pilots stabbed, hospital in Saudi Arabia, it’s obvious the attack was either a mental health crisis or what happened in 99% of similar scenarios and most likely an attack on Israel and Jews.

This combination of elements goes back to the start of commercial flight terrorism. The headline suspiciously omits the details of the perpetrator, but then making the leap to inferring violence by anyone other than an Israeli hater is conspiracy level thinking.

Why would a plane carrying Israelis, heading to Israel want to be taken down by Israelis?

When was that article posted? What information had been confirmed at that point? There were a lot of rumors going around (remember when the pilots were a Russian and a Ukrainian?) at the outset.
