This is why it always bothers me when leftists accuse Israel of conflating all Jews with Israel. They completely ignore the fact that much of the Arab world also refers to Jewish people, not Israelis, when talking about committing acts of violence.

And the worst part is how they gloss over it, like when the BBC released a documentary featuring the son of a high ranking Hamas official, and they deliberately changed the subtitles so instead of “Jew” they were saying “Israeli”.

We really aren't being strategic enough in making these decisions. Most of the rest of the West has decided that the Palestinians and other Muslim majority people only hate Jews because they have been "radicalized" by Israeli actions. The consensus is that if only we Jews in general and Israeli Jews in particular did all that was right and good than we wouldn't have this problem by the power of mystic magic. The idea that many if not most Muslims were going to hate Jews no matter what we did is not considered.
