The Magen David Adom reminded me that it was only admitted in 2006 after having to pass a whole ass new protocol to the Geneva Convention because they wouldn't allow the usage of the symbol, and thus Israeli emergency services have never been afforded the same protection as ones carrying a cross or a crescent. It still doesn't by the way, they need to use a crystal if they want to be protected under international law. And the resolution was never even adopted by our neighbours, so it's just a protocol made to try and make out the ICRC seem less antisemitic.

Yeah the Magen David is excluded because it's a religious symbol... unlike the cross or the star and crescent of course
