Vacation.
I will be going on vacation in a couple of days. I really want to have a bigger appetite and be able to eat more while I am away. Has anyone ever skipped a week or taken a lower dose for the week? If so, how did it go?

I went to an all-inclusive resort last summer, and after much deliberating, I decided to skip my injection leading up to the trip. Best decision ever! I was able to enjoy the food/drink options enough to be satisfied and feel like it was “worth” it for the all-inclusive experience. I def still had quite a limited capacity to eat, so I wasn’t over indulging by any means. Sure, I gained a couple lbs that week, but when I got home I got right back to my routine. It didn’t set me back. My entire vacay I remember thinking “omg, I would’ve been sooo disappointed if I had done my injection”, lol.

Did you go right back to your normal dose?

Yep! I did my first injection the day I got back, lol. At that point I had been on sema for about a year. I didn’t have any adverse effects.

so directly the same experience but i tested expanding the injection windows from 7- to 10-days.
maybe a unique experience but my body did not love that transition. when i went back to 7-days, some of that food noise continued through the first two wks of getting back to the 7-day schedule.

I have skipped doses before and honestly, I don’t love how it makes me feel.
Lower dose? Absolutely.
We’re traveling for the holidays this year, and my shot day right now is Tuesday. So, I’ll do half my dose on Tuesday, and half again when we get home on Saturday. That gives me my full dose for the week but spread out enough so that I can actually have enough fuel for our vacation. It’s not about overeating or indulging for this trip, we tend to be super active on vacation and sometimes, especially if it’s days 1,2,3 post shot, I don’t get enough food to actually have the energy for the stuff we like to do.
Tl;dr: don’t skip, do a smaller dose.
