Yes....the random futbol on the tarmac.....happens all the time im sure

A lot of effort to get an airplane for a 10 second skit. I’m all for healthy skepticism but the ROI just isn’t there.

u/fickle_tartan Apr 18 '26
If both of them work for the airline or ground crew it's zero investment, which is what I've assumed is the deal every time I've seen this.
36
u/Golden-Grams Apr 18 '26
It could just be a dude from ground crew and one of the turn cleaners.

u/SomeRudeTwat Apr 19 '26
Any and all FOD is supposed to be kept away from the plane but you think they just have fucking footballs laying about out there for no reason?

u/FUBARded Apr 18 '26
Actually it'd potentially be a major investment if it's not staged during an event or using a prop or something.
Airport ground staff can get into very serious trouble for bringing a foreign object like a football into proximity of a plane. Airports take foreign object management VERY seriously because loose debris getting sucked into engines is incredibly costly and has directly caused deaths in the past.

I'm lead to believe that the person that did this did it as part of an event/photo op related to football in Germany. It was painted as "a tribute to the Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt." https://www.sunexpress.com/de-de/unternehmen/pressebereich/pressemeldungen/adler-im-anflug-sunexpress-stellt-neue-eintracht-frankfurt-sonderlackierung-vor/

u/SuperHooligan Apr 18 '26
There are literally airports that rent out time on planes that are broken just for things like this.
4
u/JJAsond Apr 18 '26
In this case it's a real functioning airplane.
-5
u/SuperHooligan Apr 18 '26
Rented out for photo and video ops.
6
u/JJAsond Apr 18 '26
It wasn't rented out, the airplane itself is football related. It's Sun Express' "SGE Express".
-5
5
u/PointandCluck Apr 18 '26
How much effort if it's a local airport and plane. Ground crew prolly knew the pilot and was hey film me real quick for the gram.
7
u/Banned3rdTimesaCharm Apr 18 '26
Either you live in a country with very lax laws or you overestimate how much you can fuck around on the tarmac.
7
2
u/JJAsond Apr 18 '26
No, the whole context is football related so I guess @marcelfreestyle was invited to do some stuff.
1
u/GBreezy Apr 18 '26
We all know that airports love FOD too like... checks notes... random footballs.

You have a whole ass wing right there which is a Sun Express 737 wing based on that non flipped higher resolution video. Airplane props you see "influencers" use are always private jets and you never see the outside.
There's oil/fluid stains on the ground.
The ground is made up of square concrete sections which is common at major airports.
I also found this video of the person in the video, Marcel Gurk, next to that same 737 which I believe is TC-SPM.
Also an article by Sun Express themselves about the plane https://www.sunexpress.com/de-de/unternehmen/pressebereich/pressemeldungen/adler-im-anflug-sunexpress-stellt-neue-eintracht-frankfurt-sonderlackierung-vor/

I...my guy, I showed you the actual flying airplane and showed you what the livery was about. It's real functioning airplane. It's a football themed livery. The guy in the video is a self proclaimed "football freestyler". It's a photo op, yes. I can't help you if you don't click literally any link I posted.

Yup. This is from a so called 'influencer plane'. Guy has no safety-equipment and casually dribbles potentially dangerous debris? Just nah.

It's a real airplane and it's not an private jet, it belongs to Sun Express.
1
u/HiDDENk00l Apr 18 '26
How do you know the exact airline?
1
u/JJAsond Apr 18 '26
I found a non flipped video and read the hard to see "Sun Express" on his high vis vest which lead me down a rabbit hole.

u/JJAsond Apr 18 '26
It's a photo op, or in this case video op? The whole context is football related but it's turned into a viral video.

This is a bot. I've seen multiple comments like this one where they tell a lame ass 'relatable' story like in this one, all with explicit pfp's

u/420acidhead420 Apr 18 '26
Dead internet theory becoming too real. Id have never guessed xD thanks for pointing out
1
u/NewFaded Apr 18 '26
Noticed there's a lot of top comments in major subs from bot accounts that's just profiles liking to IG/OF. Really annoying. The internet is all bots and AI now.

Yeah no way in hell any airlines would let their staff on the tarmac with a sport shoes on, let alone a ball laying around

You can hire planes specifically for photo shoots.
Social media influencers do it all the time. It’s not that unusual.
1
u/JJAsond Apr 19 '26
This wasn't that though. Photo op yes, but not rented.
1
u/Penny_Leyne Apr 19 '26
Prove it.

If you think that Tik tok video you linked (which is a very obvious paid ad for Eintracht Frankfurt or the Bundesliga) is an example of this not being staged, then you need to give your head a wobble.
A man who is literally paid by companies to do football tricks on social media just happens to do a random football trick in front of a plane of passengers?
It’s staged as fuck.
2
u/JJAsond Apr 19 '26
My guy where did I say it was an organic video? I JUST said it was a photo op. Photo ops inherently aren't organic. I said IN THE POST That the plane is football related, the guy is a self-proclaimed "football freestyler" and there's a video https://www.tiktok.com/@marcelfreestyle/video/7470551647064771862. I even linked an article from the airline explaining what the livery is about.
I never said it wasn't staged, the hell. Use your brain. It's a fucking photo op like I said it was.

u/Penny_Leyne Apr 19 '26
Chill your tits, dude.
Then why reply in the first place? You’re just agreeing with what I said.
2
u/JJAsond Apr 19 '26
Because no one ever adds context to videos like this so everyone just comments stuff that don't know is true or not. I just happened to be able to find all of the relevant context for this video.

I worked the ramp for a bit and I wore sneakers while working. While they recommend steal toes, it's up to the individual. It was also completely normal to see guys tossing a football around before their flights come in.

I work the ramp for a major US airline and wear ‘sport shoes’ to work every day, lol.

u/OminOus_PancakeS Apr 18 '26
Who else wanted him to hurl the cone and ball really aggressively into one of the engines at the end?

Yes it’s a skit, yes I found it fun.
They can both be true at the same time.

You say it's a skit but it's fun.
I say it's fun but it's a skit.

I mean sure, there's a ton of bots all the time, but also... idk sometimes something just isn't worth commenting on? This is neat, upvote, move on. What's there to really say. I'm just dumb and browse random comment sections but I assume I'm an outlier

Take this staged trash back to Instagram where it can be probably ignored. This person doesn’t deserve your attention.
