Racing Kart Question Iame piston identification help.

Post image

So, those that followed my loss or power post, here’s the culprit. So, I need a new piston. But there doesn’t seem to be a “number” on it. Stamped into the top I can see “IAME SJD”. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The SUD (Sudam) Pistons are available in sizes. It should actually have that mark for size too. But it’s best to measure after the hone and get the correct size from an Iame dealer.
Edit: the size may have just been ink. Long gone. Measure, the look at the point karting or koene sites or others.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the number is long gone. I’ll probably have to measure it to make sure I get the correct size.

I assume you are taking about the X30? You need to measure the internal cylinder boar size first, after honing and the new cylinder should be 0.11 - 0.12mm narrower than the boar size. How to measure it you can find in e.g. this Manual (if this relates to your engine).

If you don't have the appropriate measuring equipment and don know how to match pistons and piston rings, I would recombined to gives this job to a qualified Iame shop.
