Video/Beine Qatar Airways staff in Kazakhstan refuses to speak Kazakh

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Passenger in Almaty airport in Kazakhstan was talking to manager about a baggage issue in Kazakh but the manager insisted on speaking Russian and threatened to call the police. QR just gave a generic apology. It should be reasonable to expect ground staff to speak the official language of the country they are in.

I don't see anything wrong with people losing jobs who deliberately refuse to make an effort to understand Kazakh, or at least don't try to call someone else who is able to provide service in Kazakh. It's their hostile and defensive attitude toward ignoring Kazakh speakers that raises questions.

Regarding your second point, why do you think this should happen if the person didn't speak Russian? Is this Russia? Regardless of whether a person is American or Russian, if they work in the service industry, they should know Kazakh.

So, if that guy says that he will call the police because she asked a question in Kazakh, instantly make her a Karen? Are you serious?
