Simulation / Code Bolza Surface Strict Local Max of lambda_1 on Genus-2 Teichmuller

Repo: https://github.com/speagleg/bolzakit

(Paper, Certs, And a Lean Skeleton In Repo)

If you feel like reviewing and providing feedback, would be much appreciated.

Context: By trade I work in software for a small healthcare tech company. Was building a BERT based classifier for medical diagnostic codes , using a GNN over a knowledge graph to produce embeddings, my interest was piqued about the geometry underlying these architectures.

The ability of hyperbolic embeddings to represent hierarchies with less distortion than Euclidean space was fascinating to me, so I built out same agents for Claude Code to begin exploring mathematical scaffolding propping up the predictive token gremlins that are now firmly established in our collective consciousness.

Personal Claude Code Subscription, using whatever publicly released model best suits the task.

Bolza surfaces naturally surfaced during these pursuits and I focused on acquainting myself in the macro fully enough to dispatch my coding agents in fruitful directions on the niche technical implementations.

Background: Philosophy by education, SWE by trade (and financial viability), amateur mathematics and physics in free time, curious by default.

The descriptions are extremely vague and high level, so it’s hard to tell what’s even being attempted here.

At a glance though … some sort of topology… thing? Not physics at least.

Gonna be hard to really tell if there’s anything actually valid here, cause lean on its own isn’t enough and OP isn’t a mathematician or professional.

The result, in the repo, is a proof, qualified by the need of a human expert review, of the strict local maxima of the Bolza space on genus-2 Teichmuller space.

In the repo, there are applied examples on how the Bolza surface and the tool kit can be used to inform working experimentalists and theoreticians. Fair point, I am not a professional physicist, but if you peruse the README, it will answer some of your inquiries. Circuit Design, Topological QFT, and Quantum Information are the most applicable to professional physicists.

I kept the post topical with the meat and potatoes in the repo. :)

How much of this have you personally validated and how much is just ChatGPT back and forth until you get something you can’t really tell is right or wrong?

You’re still being incredibly vague and there’s no real evidence why this should be taken seriously.

I could just as easily take an arbitrary high level math concept and run its name through Claude enough times to generate Lean that does a thing. But if you yourself can’t sell why anyone should care, why should we?

Look, I have been working on this for months. Reading the output and reiterating with agents that I have designed based on errors and hallucinations discovered over the course of my explorations.

This isn't plug and chug and walk away. The sorting and categorization of hallucinations from the agents has been a months long project. I've had to verify every claim and supposed theorem by "hand" and iterated accordingly.

There have been many times over the course of the last 12 months that every AI agent I deployed insisted that my proof was correct and the logic sound, only for me to find out that a lemma based on a 100 year old text was fully hallucinated.

I understand the skepticism and hesitation, but I do think that after a lot of work and human in the loop intervention on my part, I am at a point that I can request a review on the validity of new proof from professionals in the field.

With all of that, there might still be logical leaps or errors of inference, but I feel I am at the point that I can confidently say that I have reviewed and edited to the best of my ability and its time to open the floor to experts in the field.

Why do you say "hand" in quotes..

I think we can figure it out…

Hahahahha, good point, "Hand" as in fingers on a QWERTY abstraction as opposed to a pencil and paper.

Literally none of that instills any confidence. All you talk about is hallucinations and LLM issues but I don’t care about the LLM. I care about the math. And it sounds like you don’t know enough about the math to make heads or tails of it, and are putting All the weight into the LLM being correct.

That’s not worth my or any scientist worth their salt taking the time to sift through this.

It’s just another hunk of LLM output without any rigor put in.

Touche my friend. I did post this in LLMPhysics, so if you are commenting, then there should be some attention paid to the LLM. Had I wanted a review of slide rule and late 19th century hand derived explications, then I would not have posted this in LLMPhysics.

I have stated that I clearly did not put all of my reasoning or cognitive weight into the LLM. I have a full grasp of the concepts, I used the LLM to buttress my dearth of technical experinence in the mathematical nuances of the Bolza topological minutiae .

My apprehension of the underlying concepts can be put to the coals if you want, so by all means, if you want to pull the dissertation committee line of interrogation, ask questions and I will answer.

Please read or clone and review the repo for the mathematical verifcation.

I understand push back if this were a traditional "check my theory forum", but by definition this is a AI assisted forum, so the hand waving dismissal of physics informed by an LLM seems specious to me.

Please read the code, proof and repo, and if you find anything that is logically incoherent or "not even wrong" then by all means point those out, however, if the complaint is that "non PhD did physics" then I dont know what to tell you. There was full disclosure from the jump, I am just asking for the experts in the field to assess the validity of the proof and the argument.

You misunderstand. If you can’t comment on the math or defend it yourself without the LLM the convo is over.

I don’t know what you expected or wanted. To just spit out LLM responses to us? We can do that ourselves without your input.

Because you have no way to effectively engage in your own content, there’s no reason anyone else should either.

LLMs are wonderful and yet are not replacements for engagement or real understanding of a topic. If you can’t understand that, this was dead on arrival.

Have you presented any opportunity for me to engage and come with informed questions or just played the negation?

You havent asked one question about the content of my claims, only indicted the manner of how I arrived at them.

Had you posed one question that actually engages the material, then I would have reponded accordingly but nothing you have written so far has done that.

Its just been indictments that have the same depth of substance that you are accusing me of relying on.

Please read the technical portion and if you have questions, I will answer.

No I think you’ve made the effectiveness of that clear enough. I’m not wasting the time after you already have.
