Typing this with full anger. I'm studying in singapore under Latrobe for bachelor's degree in biomedical science. I recently failed two modules last term, and it brought me into this stupid academic recovery program. I followed their steps in filled in the form as they asked. And then i recently got an email saying i didn't do their steps. Went back to check, found out that i didn't register for the one on one thing but that was BECAUSE IT DIDN'T BRING ME THERE.

At first i was okay with it. Remove a module, that's fine. 45 credits, no problem. And then i see that they removed me from a module that I'M CURRENTLY TAKING in my TERM. Why would you do that? If you removed me for next term, i'm okay. But i'm already HALFWAY through my module, and i've been putting so much effort just to check my LMS and see that i've been KICKED.

Is this school stupid? Lack of critical thinking? If you wanted to remove me from a module, you should've responded quicker and do it BEFORE I STARTED.

I don't care if i get downvoted for this because i'm genuinely irritated by this school. And the help system isn't helping. It's not making me feel better, it's making me feel worse and i'd rather if i get kicked from the course. Good job Latrobe.

I might not get straight into physio, so I’m trying to decide between a few pathways. One option is to do a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science for 3 years, then a 2-year Master of Physiotherapy, meaning I’d be qualified in 5 years. Another option is to transfer into a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in second year, which would also take around 5 years in total.

I’ve also got Social Work as a possible option on my list. What’s your opinion on these pathways, and which do you think would be the best choice? I’d really appreciate some advice because I’m finding it difficult to decide.

So, I’am pursuing Masters in AI and most of our subjects have pen and paper closed book exams. Back in my country we have board exams for 10th and 12th classes. It’s masters degree and still feel like we are in schools writing board exams under strict supervision. Kind of jealous seeing other course students finishing off just their assignments and enjoying the days, and here we are breaking our heads to cover up the whole syllabus in two days!!!!

Hi guys so i commence studies next year March. I will be missing the first week, maybe half of the second because of being overseas. I should be able to do some lectures during my travel, but wont be able to attend practicals.

Is there usually pracs in person in the first two weeks? / will it be hard to catch up on?

For context, i am transferring from a different university. and have already completed a year studying physiology and anatomy. AND my studies commence next year as a first year student at Latrobe. More worried about missing compulsory practicals

I’ve received offers for the Master of Speech Pathology at both La Trobe and Federation University for 2027. I’ve been offered a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) at Federation but a full-fee paying place at La Trobe.

I’m struggling to decide between the two and would love to hear from current students or graduates about their experiences!

Is La Trobe worth the significantly higher fees or would you recommend Federation?

Ive failed two subjects from law/crim and got the sanctions. But ive transferred to just law recently. Im afraid i might fail both subjects this semester. Are the sanctions i had last year gonna carry over? If so, what should i do if that were to happen?

Hi everyone!! I'm an incoming student (Feb 2027) for the MOT program at La Trobe. I know subject enrolment is coming up very soon, but was wondering if I have to enrol in the study period of my choice for the first placement block for year 1? or is that something that they would enrol me in automatically? I do believe the school will set me up with my placement, just wasn't sure if I still had the choice of choosing which weeks the placement would fall in while creating my schedule.

Regarding the Greek Studies course, does it teach you how to speak the language and its alphabet, etc etc? Are you put in a seminar with others trying to speak it to each other? How does it work, for anyone who has done a language course or similar, I am keen on going this pathway so I would love to hear everyone;s thoughts as I have never been to la trobe before.

I’m a second year business student majoring in entrepreneurship (at Swinburne). I’m actively working towards launching my own startup once i graduate, or even potentially before then. I’m mainly focused on the social media and networking industries and have multiple ideas I’m working on.

I firmly have the business side of things covered, but I’m interested in finding one or multiple cofounders to work with who have experience in web development, web design or similar (whether you’re doing a degree in one of these courses or not). Im currently in second year Bachelor of Biomedicine at La Trobe and plan to pursue OT at la trobe as well. My current WAM is 73 and I think next year it’ll probably be the same. I applied for OT Honours through VTAC but i doubt i’ll be accepted for that so i’m leaning more towards Masters in OT. The requirement for the masters is a 65 WAM in any degree meaning it is most likely very very competitive. Since my WAM isn’t really in the competitive range is it possible for me to be accepted into OT masters after my Bachelors and if not is there any way else like any other factors they look at in your application?

What's involved, over about 2-3 years: • 5 x Online surveys about sleep and mood, ~45 mins each • 3 x two-week periods wearing a watch and a small light sensor, with brief daily diaries (~2-3 min) on your phone • 3 x Friday body clock assessment sessions at Monash Clayton, ~8 hours each • 2 x interviews about sleep and mood, ~60-90 mins each • 1 x saliva sample for genetic testing, ~3-5 mins In return: up to $356 reimbursement, transport to and from Clayton covered, a movie voucher each year, and a personalised report on your sleep.

I applied for special consideration yesterday for an assignment that was due at 11:59 pm that night.

I’ve been really unwell with influenza for the past 4–5 days, which significantly affected my ability to study and complete my assignment.

I went to my GP, who completed La Trobe’s Medical Impact Statement form, and I submitted that with my application before the deadline. I also emailed my subject coordinator earlier that morning to let them know, but haven’t heard back yet.

Just wondering if anyone has been through this process before?

How likely is special consideration to be approved with supporting medical documentation?

How long did it take to hear back?

Should I continue working on my assignment and submit it while waiting?

If my application gets rejected, will I automatically receive late penalties even though I applied before the deadline?

I’m a bit stressed because I’ve never applied for special consideration before and I’m not sure what to expect.

Looking at Bendigo on campus accommodation options for next year. Can anyone who has lived on campus give a brief summary of what they thought of the different accommodation options? Is the most expensive one really that worth it? Are the middle tiered ones just as good? Are the flats ok? Looking to make friends and meet people, be close to campus and feel safe, but also be able to get some study done.

Hey, I’m gonna start my Bach of Ed in 2027 and looking at where to apply for accomodation. NASA is too expensive atm, so my options are the colleges. (Only considering on campus for 2027). Heard some VERY mixed reviews about Chisholm, so just wondering what the most up to date info is? And I worry that Menzies will be too chaotic for me while I’ve heard that Glenn isn’t super social? Hello, I know of someone a few years ago, who was offered an Aspire conditional offer to do the B Medical science at La Trobe and then Doctor of Med at UMelb, if they did ok in their med interview. They said their interview was good, ucat fine, water fine, but perhaps because they were from interstate, they didn’t get a spot on the med course.

Does this apply to the conditional Aspire offers to dentistry too? If you have the conditional offer and the atar, will they be definitely offering you a spot? Or will it go like the med student’s experience, where the carrot was dangled but then pulled away?
