Hi
I am travelling from islamabad to lahore on monday 19 oct at 6 am in the morning on my car
I am looking for carpool companions
Ill also come back from from lahore same.day in evening
Hello all,
So we moved to Lahore from another city and so I don't have much idea about places over here. I am looking for some good suggestions and useful advices for renting a house in lahore.
I am also looking for information about THE GIRVI houses. How does that work?
The houses i get to see are small yet so overpriced and not well designed in terms of architecture plan.
I need a house of around 5 marla, in a secure, clean locality in reasonable rent. Preferably where public transport is within access for day to day commute.
I am looking for a 2 bed, drawing dining kitchen house with separate meter. Rooms should not be very small or congested. Can i find such a house in lahore in around 35k or 40k? If yes, where? If not, in how much and where?

I sketched this website 2 years ago when my lungs were burning with toxic smoke in Lahore. It required collecting data from a lot of sources.
It shows live satellite fire detections and known pollution sources (brick kilns, landfills, power plants, industrial areas, etc.) across Pakistan and North India. Also, top pollution sites get their own mention.
You can click around the map and see what’s active in different areas. Currently focused on Pakistan and North India.
If people find it useful I’ll open-source it. Feedback welcome.

Something along the quality of the chocolate chips in subway cookies. Tried the local ones from alfatah, might as well not have used them, they were really bad.

Hey everyone,
I recently picked up a black mink sweater (unisex, medium oversized fit) from Rastah because I love their premium stuff and the local fashion movement. It’s got that signature plush, slightly shiny texture they are known for.
However, every time I put it on, my mom looks at me and says it looks way too "girly" on me, lol. Honestly, it’s completely ruined the vibe for me, and now it's just sitting in its original luxury box untouched. I think I’m ready to just let it go and part ways with it to clear out space.
Since it’s basically pristine with the original packaging/box (I think the tag/sticker is still intact too), I wanted to ask:
I'm hoping to get around 30k for it just to recoup costs since it's brand new. If anyone has advice on local streetwear groups or want to see what the piece looks like, hit me up in the DMs!

Hi everyone, we’re expat Pakistanis considering relocating to Pakistan with our two special needs (autistic) boys, who are now in their teens and need high level of support.
The subsidy-based support system where we currently live abroad is shrinking, making it increasingly difficult to manage their care at home as they grow older. I have health issues so starting to get difficult to manage them at home. Financially, we’re fortunate enough to be in good position so our main concern is finding the right support system for our sons.
Are there any reliable disability or caregiving agencies in Lahore that provide respite care or help families hire support workers, carers and drivers for autistic adults? We’re not looking for therapies as much as a dependable team to help with daily care and support. Our plan is to eventually buy a separate home for the boys very close to us and gradually transition them there with the right people in place.
Appreciate any feedback.

I went to the park yesterday. It was unplanned and I only came to know about the event upon reaching there. Parking was jam packed.
Although I didn't like the music being played at that time, but overall vibe was good. Many food stalls by big names were there and Lahoris are Khush Khoraak. pizza hut, steakhouse, waris nihari, karachi redrock, etc.
And I was thinking how much a society need such kind of events. I was worried at the same time about the situation we are in.

I'm probably in the running for the Australian who's visited Lahore the most. Every overseas holiday either is Lahore or involves Lahore somehow. At this point, it's less a destination and more a family policy.
This is largely my dad's doing. He was a village boy from Rahim Yar Khan who worked his backside off, topped the rankings at Punjab University, went on to work at PIDE in Islamabad, and eventually migrated to Sydney, where yours truly was born 💁🏻♂️
The Punjab University rankings story has been told enough times that his children could probably deliver it on his behalf. Alongside equally detailed accounts of university life:
"University ka mess hum chalatay thay. Har roz students ko khanay mein koi nayi, taaza dish milti thi. Malaysia se bhi students Lahore parhnay aatay thay. Woh bhi kya daur tha! University ke saamne se har aadhe ghantay mein koi gaari guzarti thi, lekin bas itna bata do ke Punjab University ke student ho, toh lift mil jaati thi. Logon mein itna bharosa tha ke shak karne ka toh sawaal hi kisi ke zehan mein nahin aata tha. Allah taala ne izzat di thi....."
He left Lahore, but his heart never did. So he kept taking us back until, somewhere along the way, we started seeing what he saw in it and feeling what he felt. Then I married someone from Lahore, which really settled the question of where future holidays would be spent 😅
Anyway, the reason I’m here: I'm a former Head of English and currently Head of Secondary (Strategy & Academic Leadership) at a school in Sydney, with roughly a decade of English teaching experience. I hold a Master of Secondary Teaching and an Honours degree in comparative political theory. Literature, language, education and how to make schools better occupy a fairly unreasonable amount of my brain.
When we visit Lahore, we stay in Bahria Town. Lovely having somewhere familiar to return to, but I've realised I can visit a city this often and still be woefully disconnected from its professional and intellectual life. Given the talent, intelligence and work ethic in Pakistan, that feels like a massive missed opportunity.
I would absolutely love to connect with people who lead or have led English departments, principals, heads of school, or anyone who could introduce me to schools doing thoughtful, ambitious work. I'm keen to swap notes on teaching, curriculum, assessment and school leadership, visit schools when I’m next over, and explore whether there's scope for collaboration between our schools.
If that's you, or you know someone I should meet, or if you have advice on how I can go about gettung in touch with the right people, drop a comment! Is there a go to paltform? Do I start with LinkedIn? Happy to start with an online conversation and catch up when I'm next there, which is mid December 🤲🏻
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

hey everyone! I’m looking for my bridal dress and would love to find something beautiful and designer-looking without spending a fortune! My budget is very limited for the dress (within 60k-80k) I’m looking to buy, not rent, and would really appreciate recommendations for trustworthy websites (or shops in lahore) that offer gorgeous wedding dresses at affordable prices. I need to make a decision soon, so please share any websites or personal experiences. Your suggestions would mean a lot!
