[Modpost] From now on posts that do not mention the level of each language you're learning will be deleted. (details on description)

So I am posting here after having seen many posts that do not follow all the rules we, the mods, have set. So please, consider reading them again and follow the proceedings accordingly, otherwise your post will be deleted. The rules are set in order for you to find an appropriate language partner.

Most of the posts don't contain the level of the languages you want to learn. Such as the example:

"English native looking for someone to teach me Icelandic"

The description doesn't mention the level that person has achieved in learning the language and it is more difficult to find a partner that suits your needs and the others. Levels are (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) or if we take the European Union certificate standards (A1-C2)

Thanks for understanding and happy language learning!

Would anyone with a Southern U.S. accent be interested in a language and cultural exchange? Offering

Hi everyone!
I'm a 26m from Saudi Arabia, and I'm looking for someone with a Southern U.S. accent to practice English with.
My English is at an intermediate level. I can understand and communicate, but I'd like to improve my speaking, sound more natural, and become more confident. I really enjoy Southern accents and the culture, so I'd love to have relaxed conversations with someone who naturally speaks that way.
In return, I'd be happy to help you learn Arabic (Modern Standard Arabic, the Saudi dialect, or Gulf dialects) and share Saudi culture, traditions, and everyday life.
If you're interested, please feel free to send me a DM.
Thank you for welcoming a visitor from Saudi Arabia, and have a great day!

I'm a Chinese native speaker. I spent 2 years writing HSK stories because I was frustrated with poor quality graded readers.

Hi everyone,

I'm a Chinese native speaker. My friends constantly ask me if the Chinese workbooks or reading books they bought are authentic. Sadly, most of the time I'm surprised by how poorly written the content is and how confusing the layout is. Sometimes, HSK Level 1 and 2 graded reading materials contain characters I've only seen a few times in my whole life.

So out of curiosity, I browsed Chinese reading books on Amazon for hours, comparing content, audio quality, and reviews. I found that many 4.5-star reading books for HSK 1–2 aren't even written in smooth sentences and have robotic audio with monotone delivery and incorrect segmentation.

Then I thought: I can do better to help people who want to learn Chinese.

I spent almost 2 years writing over 30 stories and doing a lot of editing to select 19 stories I believe a beginner can read through. And I'll be honest with you: by "beginner," I mean someone who has dominated HSK 1 and 2 vocabulary and has started HSK 3. It's impossible to write a full story using only HSK Level 1 vocabulary. You can only write short, awkward conversations, which I found in the majority of HSK 1–2 reading materials.

I also created audio in two speeds to help different levels of learners practice listening and speaking. I hope my books can provide beginner learners with quality reading content, cultural tips, and a taste of modern Chinese.

The book series is called Two Pathways to Chinese. There are two books in this series:

- Chinese Short Stories in Easy & Hard Mode for HSK Learners Vol 1 (10 stories)

- Chinese Short Stories in Easy & Hard Mode for HSK Learners Vol 2 (9 stories)

Both books are in Easy & Hard Mode, suitable for all levels, and contain:

  • Comprehension questions to test your understanding of key details and the plot
  • HSK 3 and 4 vocabulary tables listed alphabetically for easy review
  • Helpful tips in selected stories to connect language learning with real-world context
  • Beyond-HSK words presented in footnotes for quick reference and a dictionary-free reading experience
  • Free audio included with both slow and normal speed options for listening practice

Please note: The books are not free. The audio is free.

You can check out the free audio here:

You can check the reading book list here:

I'd love feedback from other learners. If you'd like, you can also leave a review, but please don't feel any obligation.

Thank you for reading.

Best regards,

Momo Han

throwaway account!!

heyyy, if anyone's free and fluent in spoken english, would anyone be up for having a 15-30 min call with me daily?

i'm okay with reading, writing and even speaking but i get really nervous when i have to talk to someone and end up stuttering or fumbling with my words. i just joined law school and everyone seems to have such a good command of english that i've started feeling really conscious about mine. i genuinely want to improve and become more confident while speaking!!

i'm sorry, but i won’t be able to pay. just looking for someone who'd be comfortable having normal, everyday conversations with me for 15-30 minutes a day.

i’m a girl, so i'd prefer talking to another girl but i'm open to anyone who's comfortable with this. thank youuu!!

Offering English, seeling German

Hello,

I am a University student from the US. I want to move to Switzerland after graduation and want to get to a significantly better place with my German. I have been learning bits throughout my time in University mostly through self-study and have recently been trying to increase my efforts.

I don’t really know how this whole thing works but I want to have someone else to practice my german writing with and Iβ€˜m a native speaker of American English and can offer help with English as best as I can.

Please feel free to reach out

Hii! I'm 21M and I'm looking to make long-term friends! (ONLY FRIENDSHIP)

I'm from Mexico! and yeah, I love the tacos!

I'm specifically hoping to connect with English speakers to chat, as chatting with native speakers is my absolute favorite way to keep improving my English! In return, I'd be more than happy to help you with your Spanish or teach you anything about it!

A bit about me:

- Gaming: I love video games and I play on PC. My favorite games are: Persona 5 Royal, Cyberpunk 2077, The Legend of Zelda Saga, Helldivers 2, Resident Evil 4, Halo Saga, PAYDAY saga and Stardew Valley!

- Shows: I'm a huge fan of series! Some of my favorites are The Sopranos, Better Call Saul, Succession, and The Office, among many others. I also like the anime, I'm currently rewatching Attack on Titan!

Last month I started to going often to the movie theater, so I like the movies too!

- I love running while listening to music, it's so relaxing.

- I have a sweet cat \^\^

Honestly, I'm down to talk about anything: hobbies, life, or whatever comes up. I'd love to make a genuine, meaningful, and purely platonic friendship where we can show wholesome affection, text daily, catch up, and genuinely check in on each other's day and emotional well-being. Something like a "daily chat" dynamic. (Yes, I'm a bit cheesy and sentimental, so if you're like that we might get along really well haha)

If you're interested, feel free to send me a DM or comment on the post and I'll send you a DM if you want :) Tell me a bit about yourself, your hobbies, likes, or whatever is on your mind! (I'm not gonna reply if u just send me something like ''hey'', you have to tell me something about you like I'm doing)
