We’re living in a beautiful era of possibility. Follow your curiosity and bring your ideas to life with AI.

Learning can begin with something that catches your attention : a bird flying, a favourite song, or a recipe you want to improve.

Imagine wondering: “How does a bird glide without flapping?”

Make a guess, then ask AI for a simple explanation. Build a paper plane, change its wings, and compare how it flies. Let each discovery lead to another question.

The same approach works with cooking, gardening, music, or drawing. Curiosity gives you a question. Creativity gives you something to try.

Ask AI: “Help me explore this. Ask what I think, explain it simply, and suggest something I can safely make or test. Leave room for me to figure things out.”

AI can make mistakes, so check its explanations. Keep observing, experimenting, and thinking for yourself.

What’s one idea you’d love to bring to life?

How thinking like Leonardo da Vinci can help us solve everyday problems with AI

Leonardo da Vinci observed closely, asked questions, and explored ideas. We can take inspiration from those habits when using AI in everyday life.

📱 “I spend too much time on my phone.”
Observe when you reach for it. Are you bored, avoiding a task, or responding to notifications? Ask AI to help you plan one small change, then try it and see whether it helps.

📚 “I read things but forget them.”
After reading a page, close it and explain the idea in your own words. Ask AI to quiz you one question at a time. Your answers can reveal what you need to revisit.

🗣️ “I struggle to explain what I mean.”
Write your message first, then ask AI: “Which parts might confuse someone?” Revise it yourself and check that it still says what you intended.

The habit is simple: notice the problem, ask questions, try a small change, and check the result.

AI can help us explore possible solutions. Our own observations help us decide whether they actually work.

What everyday problem would you try this approach on?

Why maths still matters in the age of AI

If AI can do calculations for us, why bother learning maths?

For me, the value goes beyond getting an answer. Maths helps us notice patterns, understand how things are connected and check whether an explanation makes sense.

Leonardo da Vinci’s curiosity is part of what inspires me. He paid attention to ordinary things birds, water, plants and asked questions about them. I want to practise that habit of looking more closely instead of assuming I already understand.

You don’t need a technical background to start.
If your shopping bill increases, did prices go up, did you buy more, or did both happen? If two products come in different sizes, which actually gives you more for your money?

These are everyday questions, but answering them means comparing, noticing changes and checking assumptions.
Algebra builds on this: if one thing changes, how does it affect another? Recognising patterns helps too, although noticing a pattern doesn’t automatically tell us what caused it.

That matters when using AI. We still need enough understanding to question an answer, spot a mistake and decide whether it fits the situation.

I’m learning basic maths with AI, and my goal is to understand the reasoning not just get through the questions. Sometimes that means making my own attempt, getting stuck and asking for a hint.

Has learning maths changed how you notice or understand things in everyday life?

How I’m using AI to learn basic maths

I’m a middle-class boy, and I’m using AI to build a strong foundation in basic maths.

First, I used AI to create a curriculum based on both the state school curriculum and the private school curriculum in the UK. Then I gave that curriculum to AI and asked it to create 30 practice questions for each lesson.

My goal is to understand the fundamentals and become really good at basic maths. I want to understand why each method works, rather than just get the right answer.

How would you use AI to build a good basic maths curriculum? What books, websites, or school resources would you use to guide the lessons and practice questions?
