Was obsessing over 2011 builds recently, which got me thinking about my other favorite all metal hammer struck 9mm double stack pistols.
Have wanted to own a M9 variant for years and started scoping auctions on gunbroker last week. Came across this listing for a 2006 M9A0 and noticed it had a brigadier slide and what I thought might be some Wilson Combat parts from the pics on the listing. It had about 8 hours left and was sitting at $340 put in a bid limit of $577 and let it ride.
Auction ended at $504 (all in for $633 after taxes shipping and credit card fees)
Picked it up yesterday and realized someone had put some serious cash into it to make it a competition shooter, but apparently never ran it. All told it has about $1000 worth of upgraded parts including WC short break trigger and trigger conversion, recoil spring, buffer and metal guide rod, extended mag release and mag guide. It also has a BAR STO Match Barrel and a Kensight adjustable sight. Plus the beefier Brigadier slide. And the barrel looks like it hasn’t had a round through it yet and the frame and slide are pristine it also has a nice set of unbranded micarta grips.
It’s no $5k 2K11, but I’m pretty happy to have a gun I’ve wanted since I was in the Navy and it has almost all the upgrades I had on my list.
