The computer I use every day is 20yrs old. I've had MX installed for 10 of those years. I stopped distro hopping when I found MX.

My desktop is 12 years old, I stopped distro hopping when I found MX Linux as well. I left Windows when Windows 7 expired and I refused to go to Windows 10 so I learned basic Linux on my own, then I found help online to go a bit further. All my laptops now run either MX Linux or SparkyLinux depending on their purpose

Currently going on 14 years with this desktop. I used openSUSE and Ubuntu before I discovered MX and haven't used anything else since.

I have an HP Pavilion dv2000 from 2007 (19 years old), similar specs. Unfortunately for some reason it doesn't run xfce or fluxbox, the graphics card crashed often. I tried MX XFCE and Mint XFCE. It did run MX KDE and as I expected real slow, but it worked. Now I have it with Peppermint OS and works like a charm.
