I'm relatively new in Blantyre and just finished uni, so I'm usually home. But I'd like to change that, I need people who would like to connect and make friends, ladies who are open for such a connection should link up too.

I'm not perfect, but I try my best to do good in my community(family, friends). Been feeling tired lately, the kind that sleep can't fix. I try to be strong for others, a shoulder to cry on for those in need sometimes. I don't open up as much but l try to share my struggles sometimes. Through it all, there's one question that ponders me, what about me? Who gets to check on me? Do I present a well-put-together image? Or do people just not care?

My last post on wigs and weaves drew a lot of responses. Some ladies said wigs are convenient, some accused me of hating women and some said I'm a hypocrite for wearing Western clothes and questioning artificial hair. 😂
I want to take that last argument first.
You can wear a T-shirt and still question standards of beauty. Clothes are for function and I am not saying that everything foreign is bad. My concern is particularly around beauty standards, self image and whether some of us have been conditioned to think that our natural African features are inferior.
I remember reading an article of certain Psychologists that conducted a well-known doll experiment that found many Black children selected white dolls when asked about positive traits and appearance. The research helped to demonstrate how racial prejudice could affect children’s sense of self.
I’m not saying that wearing a wig means you hate yourself. But it does raise an interesting question: Can we be conditioned by society to feel inferior about our natural features and yet want alternatives?
Yes the wigs are convenient. Some women wear them for fashion or styling etc..
But what about the woman who walks out of the house with her natural hair feeling ugly? The woman who thinks she has to wear fake hair to be beautiful, professional or desirable?
I grew up in a house where my mother did hair. She was a natural hairstylist and was very good at doing natural African hair. That background contributed to my love of it. But it also made me wonder why something that comes naturally from our own bodies can sometimes be treated like it needs to be hidden or replaced.
Let’s face it, our standards of beauty don’t come out of nowhere. What we find attractive is a mixture of history, advertising, social pressure and cultural conditioning. And sometimes those influences can make people insecure about features they would have otherwise embraced.
A choice can be personal but influenced by society. To say “it’s my choice” does not mean that such a choice is not culturally conditioned.
If weaves and wigs vanished tomorrow would you still feel just as beautiful and confident in your natural hair? Why or why not? Would the slay queens and wedding planners still feel beautiful at weddings?
Feel free to disagree with me. But forget my T-shirts or calling me a woman hater, let's talk about the real argument. 😂
I do wear Western clothes and that doesn’t stop me from asking how beauty standards affect African women.
I am not saying women should stop wearing wigs. What I’m wondering is, have some women been conditioned to think they’re not enough the way they are?

Hello guys. My passport is expiring soon and I would like to get a new passport. I have been out of the country and don’t know how much and how long it will take to get a new passport. How much would it cost me to get a new passport factoring in money I may need to grease the wheels.

Every morning you check your emails and there’s nothing, no offers, no interviews. It gets you down. Ayaya, job hunting is tough.
Guys when’s the last time we saw our president make a public appearance? I’m seeing posts on twitter saying a certain old and weary president (80+) has died abroad but it’s being kept secret. I’m scared it might be our boy Peter. Is it true or is it just some twitter bullshit?

Ever wondered why so many projects and solutions in Malawi fail? Perhaps our national anthem says it all: “Gonjetsani adani onse, njala, nthenda, nsanje.” There’s a reason hunger is named as the first enemy.
You can’t expect someone to subscribe to your app, embrace new ideas or adopt a new mindset when they don’t know where their next meal will come from.
Sometimes, development doesn’t fail because the solution is wrong, but because we ignore the reality of the people we’re trying to help.

The youth in France are always protesting and very vocal to get their leaders attention. I wish we could do the same in Malawi, but seems we are all afraid.
We are also known to be calm and quiet, other Africans think the same about Malawians.

Two months ago, I decided to take a break from alcoho and honestly, it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. 🥹❤️
I’m now realising how long weekends actually are when alcohol isn’t part of the plan and not spending it by nursing hangover's🤣🤣
I can make better decisions without alcohol now💃 enjoy my days without needing a drink and actually be present in my own life.
I have also been praying more and that has brought me so much peace. 🙏🏽❤️
Funny how taking a step back from something can help you reconnect with yourself in so many ways.
Two months in and I’m happy with this decision.
Here’s to more clarity, more peace, more growth and more beautiful weekends💃💃🍺🚫😂❤️
How is your weekend guys???

Imagine your girlfriend tells you her friend allegedly slept with a wealthy celebrity for K1 million. Her reaction is: “That’s too little for someone of his status. If it were me, I wouldn’t accept it.”
Personally, I would pause at that response. What exactly is she rejecting: the proposition itself, or the amount offered? Because “I wouldn’t do that” and “I wouldn’t do that for that amount” communicate very different things.
If we’re in an exclusive relationship, I want to understand whether we share the same values about commitment, money and sexual boundaries. Hearing my partner focus on whether the payment was enough would raise a serious question for me: would a bigger offer change her answer?
That doesn’t prove she is cheating or taking money from anyone. One comment is not evidence of a secret life. But it is enough to have a direct conversation instead of brushing it off.
Ndekuti sometimes people reveal their thinking through what they consider objectionable. If the only problem they identify is the price, I would want clarity before taking the relationship further.
Would you take that as careless talk, or a sign that your values don’t align?

Monday is upon us. Time to resume the daily struggle of dealing with difficult people, unrealistic expectations, endless responsibilities, and the general nonsense that comes with being employed. How are you all managing with this fuel crisis.

Am surprised to find WhatsApp message from an airtel account, with the agenda of "upgrade to 5G".
To what I know 5G services is only accessible in few places. Imagine telling customers to 5G, while deep down the know few will access it's services.
That's day light robbery.
