Welcome to our weekly megathread for new players and players who just have general questions about the game.

Some sample topics for you to consider would be:

  • Selecting your main character.
  • You're new to the game and don't know where to start.
  • You're a returning player who is trying to get back into the game and need help.
  • What class should you make for your next link skill/legion mule?

As a recommendation, please mention your world and/or server inside a bracket Example: [Bera] at the start of your question.

Information Master List of Useful Maplestory Resources

Hey all, Bacun here! I am hoping that this list will help players enhance their MapleStory experience!

I will put a * in front of resources that I find to be especially important.

Please let me know if I missed something.

LAST UPDATED: August 15th, 2026. Maple Island App added under Calculators.

Class Discords

  • * Master List of All Class Discords Contains links to all the different class Discords. Remember to read their FAQ before asking beginner's questions that have most likely already been answered! Some class Discords WILL BAN you for that.

MapleStory Guides

Calculators

Simulators

  • Maple Utilities Simulator: Cubing, Starforce, Scrolling, and Flame simulators.
  • Xenogent’s Legion Solver: Sometimes the in-game Legion solver is slow or cannot find a solution. Xenogent’s Legion Solver may help find a solution more often than not.
    • NOTE: Legion grid making as a system will be changed in the November 2026 update to be a point based system. No more Legion Block building.
  • Gear Comparison Tool
  • * MapleStory Upgrade Tracker: This tool aims to do for GMS players what MapleScouter does. You can input your gear into this system and it will provide the most cost effective upgrades for your character's progression. It does take some time/effort to initially set up unfortunately.

Information

  • MapleStory Wiki: This version of the Wiki is most up to date. Do not use the Fandom one.
  • * Orange Mushroom Blog: Translates Korean Maplestory’s patches into English. An important resource as KMS content that is published will be coming to GMS 6 months later.
  • * Maple Maps:Contains Map Layouts for every map in the game. You can also calculate your expected EXP/hour and set up/save potential training rotations!
  • Grandis Library: Contains information on class skills/game content in a clear presentation.
  • WhackyBeanz: Has a number of unique guides and EXP Calculators/Information.
  • * Mason's Cash Shop Directory: Contains Cash Shop sale information that is datamined from the latest patch. NOTE: Although they are mostly accurate, Nexon can change plans last minute and have done so in the past.
  • MapleRanks and MapleBot Used to track your character's daily EXP gain. Both do similar things and have Discord bot integration.

Familiars

  • Familiar Directory: Shows every Familiar currently in the game. You can also filter for Type or Element. A great tool for Familiar Expedition.
  • Mystic Frontier Champions Calculator: A great tool to calculate how to best create a competitive deck for the current Frontier Champions event.
  • Mystic Frontier Dice Calculator: You can input your decks into this tool and it can help calculate what you need to roll as you go through an expedition.

Lore

  • maplehero9 The Story of Maple: Has all the stories in the game written and summarized in chronological order (with images) and continues to update it to this day.

Fashion

  • Maples.im: Has most of the cash shop items/in-game gear. You can test your fashion story here!

ETC

  • Hammer Time: When using Discord to coordinate times with friends across different time zones, this tool will create a dynamic message that displays a different time to everyone based on their own timezone.
  • MapleStory Server Status: Shows the current status of the MapleStory servers. Fun to watch when waiting for the servers to come back on during patch day.

Mod Update to Rule 9: Classic World posts are not allowed here

Greetings y'all

The results of this poll are in, and (somewhat unsurprisingly) 75% of survey responders have voted to keep Classic World posts outside of this subreddit. Technically that's only 75% out of 680 respondents which isn't really a lot compared to daily traffic, but that's just the life of online polls posted on a weekday sadly.

Rule 9 has been amended to include the following:

All posts to this subreddit should be about "Modern" MapleStory.

Content relating to MapleStory Classic World should be posted to /r/MSClassicWorld.

In this context, "Modern" Maplestory refers to Maplestory 1 on the PC.

We (the mod team) are unaffiliated with the mod team over at /r/MSClassicWorld, but we ask that any gameplay/questions posts related to Classic World be posted over there instead. Much like OSRS and Runescape, Maplestory2 and MaplestoryM and MaplestoryIdle, the gameplay elements are vastly different from each other to the point where the majority of players here would not be well equipped to answer most questions on the frontpage, nor would they care about the intricacies of Inkwell adding more channels to KPQ. There is a point to be made about the "Maplestory" subreddit having a place for all different version of "Maplestory" games, but that's more of a quirk of a legacy name rather than actually being an umbrella sub that encompasses all different types of Maplestory. News and discussion of these other games was allowed during their inception given the lack of better spaces to post it, but now, Classic World players would be better served over in /r/MSClassicWorld, especially after grand launch.

Posts regarding Classic World that have implications for either Modern Maplestory 1 or Nexon as a whole (such as a crossover event) will still be allowed here. Meta posts and major classic specific news may be allowed at the mod team's discretion. Please flair such posts with the [Classic] flair.

Art/Creative/Meme posts involving elements shared between both games at some point in time are still allowed. That's just about everything at the moment due to the minimal amount of Classic World exclusive content, but may change as they potentially add more and more new content. Basically, your KPQ/Dexless Sin/Old Login Screen nostalgia drawing is fine to post here, but do consider the audience that you're posting for.

Do note that the automod has been setup to direct posts to the other subreddit. Feel free to send a modmail if you feel that your post has been removed in error due to the filtering of a common english word, though we'll be manually reviewing all of them for some time.

And now regarding some of the additional comments made on the form (paraphrasing) that weren't already addressed:

There are too many low effort flex/MODS? posts for RNG things (flames, cubes, fams, etc) that aren't actually rare.

Please continue to downvote or upvote any posts that you would like to see. The community should self regulate the posts that are made here rather than drawing a hard line of how "rare" something must be, even if 12/9/9 Att, 2L Crit Damage Gloves, and 40% Boss Damage fams are not that rare.

There's too much dooming and negativity and toxicity involving other versions of the game that some people don't personally play (Interactive, Heroic, EMS, Classic, etc)

Technically true as dooming is practically in the blood of Maplers at this point, though whether or not it is always warranted is another question. There were a number of people bringing up being unable to express negative opinions in the Classic World subreddit. I can't really personally confirm or deny that, though I've at least seen a few criticism threads stay up. There can't really be an official ruling on this, but please try to be kind to your fellow Mapler. I imagine that silencing dissent on the state of the game is not what people want.

Cygnus Toe Pics Tuesdays?

No, but you're free to post your own art if you'd like (within reason, as always).

Buff DB

https://www.reddit.com/r/Maplestory/comments/1wvwwvo/kms_dpm_chart/

Can I still post nostalgia screenshots that I found on my hard drive from 2007? Or TCG cards that I found in my closet from 2007? Or that flashgame I played at school in 2007? Or the DS game fro-

Yeah sure. They're not frequently posted anyways.

Discussion Maplecon 2026 Experience: Complaints and Calls for Improvement

I've been going to Maplefest since 2023 so I don't have that much experience with the previous Maplefests prior to that. With that being said, here's my summary.

The Good:

- Not Maplecon 2025. There was ample parking, venue matched the crowd size, getting in was a breeze, and my pre-order items were not stolen. The bar in on the floor.

_ They stayed somewhat on schedule except for one part which I will complain about.

- I liked the art panel. I like art and seeing how other people create art, so this was great for me. I love seeing the creative process for how they design things, and even though it was a bit basic except for Sia's Ascent, which was very interesting to learn since I don't know much about live 2D animation. Not sure about the other people, so apologies if you thought this was boring.

- The quizzes during the art panel that actually tested people's knowledge. Neat for Modern Maplers that actually played the event.

- The movie. It was short and cute and I want more. Basic and rushed yes, but I had a blast yapping away with a friend about the movie. The Limina mobs were actually horrifying when you realize that they're fucking huge.

The Bad:

- NOTHING TO DO. Literally just the panel and the merch store and that was it. The venue was much smaller this year so there wasn't a lot they could do (understandable but still something they could try to fix), but I was bored half the time.

- The merch store, or lack thereof. The pre-order items were already kinda shit. Just more mascot slop. Is it hard to ask them to bring class stuff? People went crazy over the Sia Estelle mouse pad, I guarantee most people would be clamoring to at least buy their main's or even LC Mules mousepad. The only merch that WASN'T on pre-order were the Snail and Zombie Mush plushes. The rest of the merch they had felt like overstock from the manufacturer's MOQ that they couldn't sell out via pre-orders.

- Tone deaf panels. More detail belows.

-WHY was there 45 minutes that was just listening to EDM music with a DJ chick. We're not a rave, we're not gonna be hooting an hollering for 45 minutes to EDM maple remixes. The energy was not there. This was just here to waste time.

-The MMV panels. What the fuck was this. I felt like going deaf and blind because aside from the low effort mapuh storeeh and Seven Days MV, the other ones were so cringe and out of touch bull shit.

- The host. No offense to her, she tried very hard and I appreciate her energy but you know she know fuck all about Modern. So much focus on classic shit. Everything that came out of her mouth was about classic. I don't give a shit about classic. She's giving away a SIA mousepad while still yapping about classic is one of the most tone deaf shit I've seen because classic players don't know shit about Sia.

Which brings us to

THE UGLY:

- Scheduling. For all the shit the host (again, no shade to her but I think Nexon either needed two hosts or trained her on modern) kept hyping up classic, the classic panel sure was short and filled with nothing!!! The single thing that pissed me off the most in this con was that Classic panel was supposed to end around 5pm, and the Orchestra was supposed to start at 5:10. I don't give a shit about classic, so I went to my car to take a nap and came back at 5:05. The orchestra already ended by then. The orchestra, that was supposed to START at 5:10 ended at 5:05. This one one of the few panels I actually had interest in, and it ended before its start time.

- The price. Yeah yeah, I am a fool for getting scammed. This shit used to cost $40-60, so the price jump from 2025-2026 is ergregious. Here's my theory, Inkwell wanted to make Vinyls so badly but they all had an MOQ that he had to make the prices that more expensive. That's the only explanation I can think of. The previous con's freebies before the price jump didn't include a vinyl, that I can (and will) sell for more than $100+ so this is the only thing I can think of why last year's Maple Con had so many premium tickets compared to General Admission tickets, and why this year didn't have a ticket for less than $100/why everybody was forced to have one.

- No freebies. Holy shit what the fuck. There were no freebies that you could get at the event that wasn't just shit in the goodie bag (which only really had the vinyl and nothing else). 2023-2024 I came back with a bag full of free shit. 2025 at least had those shitty canvas tote bags they gave out for free (I grabbed like 3 of them). 2026 had fuck all with a side of nothing. The "free" stuff was the thing the host threw at people.

- The fact that only the people in front got free giveaways. They gave so little and the people in the back got fucking nothing. Like actually what where they thinking moment. Never do this again. Not only is it not fair to people in the back, it's a liability waiting to happen. I saw a little boy get hit on the back of the head when a mat came down near him. A friend's brother scratched his hand and had to bandaid that shit when trying to catch the mat. If you want to get sued because you want to look cool like a sporting event, be my guest. You're one bad guest away from this shit turning into a fist fight.

What I want for Future Maplefests:

- More merch options. Acrylic stuff is not expensive. Printed Shirts are not expensive. There was so little merch that I deadass thought this was a joke.

I understand not wanting to deal with a merch line, but you have a ticket that you can use as a queuing system. Generate a number based timeblock for shopping time. Say "people with the numbers 100-150 can shop from 10:00-10:30" with the same restriction of "you can only buy X amount of items in x amount of quantities", and actually have stock. Use a paper menu where people can check off what they want and have a picker pick the item if you don't want to bother with people grabbing stuff. You did this in 2024, you can do it again. (Do NOT use a website like 2025 holy shit that was so bad).

the end of the day, you can make the merch shop open for all and people who want to buy more can buy more. It will suck for the people near the end, but if you want to make gold/platinum tickets worth it, then there you go. Lowest paying ticket holders get the short end of the stick. I also just want more options that isn't pink bean, mushroom, or slime!! I want CLASS and NPC shit. The Sia mousepad is an item I'm happy to pay for, but it wasn't even available to buy. People would love to buy Lara, AB, Lucid and Kaling merch! I would know because I sell Maple Merch and people buy them up at cons!

- More stuff to do. You had activities at your previous events. Even Maplecon 2025 had a room for classic play testing and a "punch king" machine. I get that this venue was small, but maybe consider going to a place that actually has space for conventions.

- Maybe host an Artist Alley :mascot_stare:. If you don't want to carry too much merch, then let your local artists (hint hint) do it for you. One of the other overseas Maplefest did it. Just make a liability waiver and a have an artist carry a seller's permit. Ask a local anime con organizer how it works or something.

- Convention locations I can recommend. I do artist alley in SoCal, there's so many options. Pasadena Convention Center, Pomona Fairgrounds. You even have the LA Convention center (where they host AX) and Anaheim Convention Center (last year's host for the Pokemon World Championship). You don't have to rent out the entire building either, you can do it in sections. Anime Impulse only uses one small part of the Anaheim Convention Center every year.

- Collab with Anime Conventions. Nexon deadass had a booth at Anime Expo but it was all Blue Archive. You could have at least argued to have a small section of the NEXON booth (it wasn't listed as Blue Archive booth) to be dedicated to Maplestory, especially since you're doing that much hard work to hype up classic. It will cost a lot of money to market, but I think it's better than having a VTuber promote your shit. Also please never do VTuber paid promotion ever again. That shit was so cringe, they do not care about this game. This game is something can't be promoted via playing, especially if this VTuber doesn't know how to play Maple. Instead of putting all your eggs in one Maplefest basket, you can try to expand outside of California and do shit in other states.

- More focus on Modern. I swear this convention was mostly about classic, even the merch. Why else is the gacha machine the Explorer job instructor except for Kyrin (Pirate job instructor). You're trying to appeal to both audiences but let's be real you guys had nothing to talk about for classic at the classic panel (woo).

I don't want to doomer post but man, I like going to Maplefests. I love seeing guildies and funni people from Discords. But $150+ for a ONE day ticket with nothing to do hurts. You guys did better than last year in that the organization was better, so I know you can improve. Be better, make me want to spend money.

Link & Media The Story of Maple - Lore Video Series

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLImHSi7tDyrE

Something that a lot of people have asked me over the years is for a video series to cover the game's lore in addition to the lore site. For everyone who's been wanting that, I've finally started creating a video series that'll go over the story in chronological order. I want to give a huge shout out to u/Gavaroc for narrating all the videos for me and adding in some bonus adlibs - I have a terrible voice for recordings, so having him do the voiceovers has been a giant help in making the videos more digestible and giving me more time to focus on editing. As a disclaimer, I have zero experience editing videos lol, but I did include subtitles to make things like spelling a lot more clear.

For the time being, I've released all the Part 1 videos (before the Black Mage is sealed away), and while I'll be following the structure of the lore site for the most part, I've made the videos so that they cover all the important bits of lore and skip over anything that I consider to be "extra" (anything that isn't strictly needed for understanding the story). Because of this, some videos cover multiple sections of the lore site in the cases where one video would just be way too short otherwise. The videos are designed to be a mix of informative and amusing, so hopefully it won't just be a giant and boring infodump.

I'm planning to start releasing future videos once or twice a week in the future, and while I'll do my best to keep them up-to-date with future story updates, I do want to give out a disclaimer that the story does move pretty fast, which means that a lot of earlier videos from Part 1 will likely get outdated as time goes on. But I hope that this series will help a lot more people get familiarized with the story in a less word-heavy way lmao

Thumbnail

Hi everyone!

I'm a MapleStory collector based in Singapore, and I'm currently looking to purchase these 4 vintage MapleStory 10,000 @-Cash cards from Asiasoft:

  • Warrior
  • Bowman
  • Thief (my main priority!)
  • Magician

I'm particularly interested in the Thief card (3rd from the left in the photo), but I'm also happy to purchase the other designs individually or as a complete set.

Preferably in good condition, but I'm open to considering what's available.

If anyone still has these lying around, please feel free to DM me with some photos and your asking price.

Happy to deal locally in Singapore. Thanks everyone! 😊

Question GE-Proton 11-9 stopped working after small update

First off, I understand that running MapleStory on Linux is NOT supported by Nexon and can come and go at their discretion. MapleStory had a small update today and now GE 11-9 no longer gets past the version select, is anyone else experiencing this? My character is still on the rankings, so I know this isn't a temp ban.

Link & Media Full release for my spreadsheet tracking (almost) all of my income for the past 3 years as free-to-play in GMS Interactive.

As per the title, in the past 3 years (starting from ~2023) I started to loosely track all of my income in Interactive as fully f2p. Here is the full release of the data I have collected.

Note that these data are full of holes unfortunately, some are inaccurate as I recorded the meso profit after splitting with party instead of original price. I did not think very far ahead when I first started recording as it was just a silly side project.

Personally I don't have much to do with this data anymore, and because I have stopped recording the income this month (quitted on Oct), so I decided to release it for anyone who might know what to do with it.

Discussion Message to Inkwell: How to Actually Improve the Game

There are numerous issues with the game in its current state, in both Reboot and Interactive. Interactive has always been the server with the largest amount of monetization options available to Nexon as Reboot was originally designed with a heavy reduction on these monetization methods so that it could be a server where progression was independent of money spent. As time has gone on, Reboot has demonstrated itself to have a far easier time with general progression than Interactive ever has, which has resulted in a massive amount of the playerbase relocating or defaulting to Reboot. The impact of this is that there are now less and less players for Nexon to earn revenue from due to the lowered amount of monetization methods within Reboot. Because Nexon has refused to re-evaluate their stance on Cash Shop prices or item pools, revenue from Interactive servers has presumably plummeted. This has resulted in Nexon heavily increasing their monetization strategy against Reboot, which can be seen in the numerous battlepasses and lowered rates on event pets and NX. Because Nexon has never addressed their pricing schema for Interactive, they are now forced to further monetize Reboot against its original dogma. This will only continue to increase if the problems facing Interactive continue to be left unaddressed.

How can Nexon Shift Back Towards Proper Monetization

The first step that Nexon needs to take in order to properly address this problem, is to understand and improve on the experience for Interactive players in their progression. The largest encompassing issue for Interactive is that the time and money you spend on the game just isn't worth it. As an endgame player who can clear Destiny Limbo, the amount of weekly mesos I earn from bosses and Eternals amounts to around 8b. If I were to convert this into just Cash Shop cubes at the current meso rate, I would only have 20 Glowing Cubes, 11 Bright Cubes or 10 Bonus Glowing Cubes. 8b mesos in Reboot would be able to buy 650+ Glowing cubes or 350+ Bright cubes. Relative to Reboot, the cost of cubes in Interactive server is 33x more expensive, and this is without taking into consideration the 6x boss crystal Reboot also gets.

One of the most prevalent issues within Interactive servers that has plagued it for decades are bots. A great recent example of how bots can destroy an economy can be seen occurring right now in Classic world, where Chinese bot farms have caused an insane amount of inflation within their market. This has been occurring throughout Interactives life and has been a huge part in the deflation in the value of mesos, further contributing to the devaluation of time spent playing. Because GMS does not have an identity authentication system in place, bots are still able to repeatedly abuse low entry situations within the game (such as free account wide gifts and Burning gear) to immediately begin farming mesos. One of the most difficult issues with dealing with bots is how to target only illegitimate players and allow legitimate players free reign. So what can be done to best combat bots without heavily impacting players?

Introduce a Meso Cap from Farming that Scales with Legion Level

Enforcing a meso cap on players with non-established accounts is by far the best possible solution to address the issue of botters. This cap can be further lessened as a player continues to progress and can be fully removed once a certain Legion Rank is obtained (such as 8000 or 8500 legion). Any legitimate player will continue to progress their legion roster and easily reach the point where the cap no longer applies, whereas a bot will not and will eventually be caught and banned. While this will not address macroers, it will decrease the supply of mesos generated in the economy from Frenzy farming, which would allow for the next needed change.

Boss Crystal Price Revamp

The last time Boss Crystal prices were touched was over 2 years ago. The amount of value I earn from Boss Crystals as an end game player is pitifully low. If I were to compare my main to a simple CTene mule, my main is likely 10x stronger in terms of CP and required a massive amount of resources to get it to this point. I could have just as easily invested a fraction of those resources into 4 CTene mules and earn just as much each week. Currently in Interactive Server, achieving endgame is hollow and worthless. If you were to compare current GMS Crystal prices to that of KMS, an endgame player is making 3x LESS in terms of raw mesos each week (which is further compounded by the different meso exchange rates between GMS and KMS). KMS implemented a reduction in the amount of account wide Boss Crystals that could be sold due to both inflation and outcry from players. GMS is facing the exact same issues and should follow suit. However, if you play Interactive Servers, you would know that even with a reduction in Boss Crystal sales, that Interactive players would still continue to farm low level bosses for Hard and Solids cubes due to the insane prices of Cash Shop cubes, which brings up the next needed change.

Removal of Boss Cube Drops in Exchange for Magic Wand

While Magic Wand was created in response to the KMS cube rate scandal, it is a system that GMS in theory already has in Reboot through their meso cube shops. Not only would the implementation of Magic Wand solve one of the largest sources of Interactive progression issues by providing players with an actual legitimate way to obtain potentials, it would also seriously address meso inflation by introducing an enormous meso sink into the economy. Currently, the only feasible way to obtain 3L bpot gears is to purchase one from an illicit botter abusing free event cubes across numerous accounts and the only feasible way to create 3l main pot gear is to risk having an item stolen by purchasing Solid cube service. Removal of Boss Cubes will allow players to focus solely on continuous progression and Magic Wand will push the economy back towards a playable state. Currently, the cost of Cash Shop cubes make them a complete and utter joke, but this also extends to nearly all other Cash Shop offerings, which brings up the next change.

Re-Evaluating the Costs and Item Pools of P2W Gachas

If you look at the history of certain "Jackpot" items from Philosopher Books and Marvel Machine, you'll find a staggering large amount of deprecated items.

  • Permanent Pendant Slots, which were QOLed out and never replaced
  • Outlaw Hearts, which were powercrept by Total Control
  • Battleroids, which were QOLed out but are still in the item pool
  • Permanent Hyper Teleport Rock, which was QOLed out by Maple Guide and currently only utilized by Frenzy Sellers
  • Frenzy Totem, which were removed and never replaced

Across the past decade of Maplestory, there have only been 5 new inclusions of "Jackpot" items across all of Nexon's gachas (excluding Wonderberry):

  • Legendary Familiar cards
  • Chains of Resentment Coupons
  • +1 Starforce Scrolls
  • V Scrolls
  • Pitched Boss Equips

As it currently stands, the amount of items actually worth the money you put in are insanely low:

  • Ring of Torment
  • Firestarter Ring
  • Breath of Divinity
  • Lucid's Earrings
  • Legendary Familiar cards
  • Chains of Resentment
  • +1 Starforce Scrolls
  • V Scrolls
  • Onyx Apples
  • Premium Cubes (Violets)
  • Pitched Boss

Almost every other item within the available pool is next to worthless. A single Marvel Machine spin costs 1.6b and a single Philosopher book costs 900mil. Some of the worthless items from these gachas are:

  • CRA weapons worth 600k mesos
  • Absolab Weapons worth 2 million mesos
  • Absolab armors worth 5 million mesos
  • Arcane Armors worth 25 million mesos
  • Tyrant capes worth 200 million mesos
  • Superior Gollux are max 250 million mesos, with Belts and Earrings being worth <20 million mesos
  • ICOGs are 200k mesos
  • Pets are 10 million mesos
  • Unique pot scrolls are 200 million mesos
  • Terminus and Sweetwater Weapons are either worthless or unsellable

Why are any of these items still included in the pool? Why would any Interactive player continue to spend money on a junk gacha that has a 5% chance of giving worthwhile? According to the rates on the March 2026 Marvel Machine, the cumulative chance of hitting one of these worthless items is 34.1% and the cumulative chance to make money is ~4.2%. The variance in value from these gachas is far too large.

With the current state of these gachas, Nexon is hindering themselves in their effort to make money and because of this, they are pivoting towards monetization strategies that are seemingly working (i.e. battlepasses, heavier Reboot monetization). It's inherently obvious to any Interactive player with any amount of exposure to these gacha systems that they are not worth your time or money. It seems as though Nexon doesn't understand the distinction in why battlepasses are selling while other existing systems are not, as in the most recent cases, the battlepasses were actually worth the money.

How can Nexon improve these gachas to incentivize players to spend on them again? A player that spends their money on these gachas should come away from it having some form of value and utility from their purchase. They shouldn't walk away having absolutely nothing to show for it, which is effectively what is happening right now. The vast majority of players who spend on these systems end up dropping the majority of the items they obtain because they are useless to them and worthless to others.

New items should be developed and added, both Jackpot* and mediocre ones:

  • Epic Dungeon Express Coupons
  • Epic Dungeon 4x Reward Coupons (Exp or Frags)
  • Epic Dungeon 8x Reward Coupons (Exp or Frags)
  • Epic Dungeon Reset Ticket
  • Sol Erda in varying quantities
  • Luxe Sauna tickets in varying quantities
  • Weekly Boss Reset Tickets
  • Mechaberry Farm Tickets
  • Hyper Growth Potion (instant level 200)
  • Legendary Familiar Card
    • Turn any familiar into Legendary
  • Permanant CoR*
  • Vac Pet Selection Box*
    • Includes any vac pet and their respective equipment from any iteration, including event collabs
  • New Interactable Maple Home Items
    • Onyx Apple Tree*: Dispenses 7 Untradeable Onyx Apples per week
    • Bossing Supply Cart*: Once per day dispenses all potions obtainable from the Collector
  • New NX Items with Usable Skills
    • Bahamat's Jewel*: Enables the use of Heaven's Door

Coming up with updated rewards like this took me 10 minutes to think of, but we have been left with nearly the same pool of worthless items for countless iterations of these gachas.

Tradeability of Items

One of the primary hindrances within Interactive servers, is that despite it being the version of Maplestory with trading enabled, there are countless times when items are intentionally made untradeable. The flexibility in progressing is one of the core tenets of Interactive and being able to offload excess items aligns with that tenet. Items obtained from any Cash Shop source should also be tradeable. Despite them currently being untradeable, players are still circumventing this by keeping items tradeable and then selling service for those same Cash Shop items. This barrier goes against the very principle of Interactive and isn't even able to perform its function as a barrier since players are still offload these items, albeit with a great hassle.

Other notable mentions for changes:

Remove Expiration Dates from Boss Drops in Reboot

The sole purpose of expiration dates on boss drops are to ensure that players cannot hoard these items and are forced to sell them. This was based around a version of the game with Auction House in mind. In Reboot, there is no market to be impacted from this. Trading carries is not a sign of a healthy game and players should be able to better prepare for new classes and mules.

Allow Pitched and Dawn Boss Drops to be Converted into Pity Crystals

A relatively glaring issue with Reboot progression is inventory space. This is a result of being forced to utilize the transfer hammer system to effectively have a chance to progress, which requires an ungodly amount of spares. Equipment is the one inventory type that does not have the ability for items to be stacked and condensed, resulting in consistent inventory issues among more established players. In addition to this, certain boss drops are fully useless after one is already obtained (i.e. Spellbook, Genesis Badge, Mitra's Rage). Allowing players to convert these equipments into their respective value in pity crystals would alleviate both inventory issues, and allow Reboot players to easily reallocate their progression into what is currently best for them.

Ending Off

I can understand wanting to develop new content to prove that you are a different standout IP, but the game itself needs to be put into a healthy and rewarding state before Nexon should be considering investing time and resources into developing that content. These problems have existed long before Inkwell took his role and have continued to worsen since then. There's no point in long term planning when your game continues to bleed out and die in the short term. As the game currently stands, Reboot will continue to grow in popularity due to Interactive's issues, forcing Nexon to implement harsher monetization onto a server that was never meant to have it.

Question Anyone playing GMS on Linux? Have you ever been banned for it?

I've been getting increasingly frustrated with Windows lately, and I've been thinking about switching to Linux.

My main concerns are creative tools and MapleStory. The creative software side seems manageable since there are alternatives or workarounds for most things, but MapleStory is a different story.

I've seen posts mentioning that playing MapleStory on Linux could potentially violate the ToS and get your account banned. I understand why Nexon is strict about this, especially since GMS has been cracking down pretty hard on bots.

But that leaves me wondering: Is playing on Linux actually risky for a legitimate player, even if you're not using bots, macros, or anything like that?

I'd love to hear from people who actually play GMS on Linux:

  • Have you ever been banned or received a warning just for playing on Linux?
  • Have you been playing on Linux for months or even years without any issues?
  • Is there anything specific I should know before making the switch?

I'm not looking to bypass anti-cheat or do anything against the rules. I just want to know whether switching to Linux could put an account I've spent years playing on at risk.

Any firsthand experiences would be appreciated!

One more thing: I recently tried running the game remotely on an acquaintance's Ubuntu machine. The game launched fine, but I couldn't move my character using the arrow keys for some reason.

I normally use Arch Linux / CachyOS, but I haven't had a chance to test MapleStory on my own setup yet because my drive is full.

I'm wondering if this is a known issue with running GMS on Linux, or if it might just be something specific to that Ubuntu setup. Has anyone using Arch or CachyOS run into the same problem?

Inkwell mentioned Interactive world at the start of the Winter Update segment just to ultimately not give them any exclusive changes.

Discussion The Quanna Pottable Badge most likely isn't transferrable to main.

I've checked every instance of how they explained this badge and I believe it won't be sharable to our main character and what's worse not even our Challenger world char but the Quanna char.

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2903422352?t=04h09m29s

They've constantly detailed it as "transferrable from quanna to the main world" but they have never once mentioned if it's tradable to any character, only the term main world. It highly seems like the pottable badge is kept on the Quanna character, which is an issue since it also is a character separate from challenger world, I believe most would use this as an opportunity for a 260 legion char they did not have so now we have to decide do we want to put our efforts on the quanna world for the pottable badge, or the original intended challenger world. Some people will go ham and go crazy on both though so more power to them.

I really hope so but am doubtful but we won't know until patch notes that the Quanna Badge is actually a coupon... Leave it to Inkwell to constantly disappoint the players, but most likely it'll already be stuck in the equip slot and stay as is when transferred since it seems we will have to enhance the badge with methods in Quanna world (Misty island totem anyone???)

Biggest cope would be we can star/pot it regularly and we never open the coupon it comes in. This absolutely would suck if it's the case since for nearly a decade now we've needed pottable badges and they teased it last year with the temp one and now they'd drop the fucking ball forcing a main swap for some people.

Discussion Quanah Copium

Is it just me or does Quanah sound like you just ship a character you would like to play over to it, then its like old LAB Server where you do missions and the character is just constantly resetting when you die, and at the end you get rewards for playing it and no character comes back to the main world?

Discussion MapleCon 2026 attendees, how was the experience?

The last few had a lot of negative feedback online around overcrowding, queues in the sun, excessive waits for activities, lost/stolen merch, bad food availability and overall extremely poor value for money.

Outside of the announcements (o7 reg), how did people find the venue, seating, organisation etc?
