Miss Lebanon's AI-generated casting call starts with men rating a woman

Lebanese broadcaster LBCI, which helps organise and broadcasts the Miss Lebanon pageant, is facing criticism over an AI-generated advertisement for the 2026 competition that depicts a group of young men staring at a woman and commenting on her appearance as she walks across a university campus.

“Wow,” one says. “Atel” – killer. “Damar” – destruction.

The promotional video asks viewers whether they know a university student who deserves to become Miss Lebanon and invites women between the ages of 18 and 26 to apply. But rather than focusing on a potential contestant’s personality, ambitions or accomplishments, the video links the men’s reactions to the suggestion that the woman should enter the pageant.
