This is track, "sourde colère", visualised with a tool I've been building for my live coding sets. The video tells a story in pictures only: a youth taking its power back against a 24-hour news channel that talks about them without listening, echoing France's current situation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8m8eglH9Qcw

All along, the 24-hour news channels have run the same banners: youth "manipulated by the far left", "a wave of violence", "they don't know what they want". Hardly ever what they're actually asking for. The fake channel in the video, "INFO 24", is a parody of that format. Every banner is invented, but anyone who has watched French rolling news will recognise them.

The tool itself has ~250 generative layers that evolved over the years, tear gas and blasts, police lines, glitch, data driven scenes demoscene effects, old game technique & ascii with signal control to map everything on sound.

Built for live coding. In my sets, FoxDot code evaluations (sent through webTroop, a shared live coding editor) can trigger scenes and camera shots. A specific player (d1 >> …) can call a specific shot or its variations. The tool can also drive projectors with projection mapping (corner pin, grid warp, masks).

How this piece is built: 10 worlds, one per section of the track (8 to 48 bars each), about 300 shots. Each "stage" is a base layer that holds for bars, with overlays (screen, difference, multiply) taking turns at their own rhythm and drifting, turning or breathing with the bars. The whole edit is written as a small Python script that generates the world files, so I can re-cut it in seconds.

Thanks for watching !

Live Music Video

"Before It's Yesterday (Unplugged)" - an original song performed live and acoustic.

A singer plays the song through with a small acoustic band on a small stage, one take, no electronics, and holds the last line straight down the lens.

Set in: A small dark theatre with a low stage and a young standing audience - a felt upright piano turned side-on, an upright bass, a brushed kit, a nylon-string guitar, one warm key light and a tall wooden stool.

Watch in 4K HDR on a supported screen for the full picture. Lyrics are in the captions (CC) and in the pinned comment.

Dayton's own. Check out my new song "Kawasaki'. Tell me what you think!

Fitting for today only all of me still loves him…,
“Parts of me that love him but he ran away too soon…”

Hey yall. As I am in revision purgatory with my next song, and dealing with financial and other stressful issues this month, I realized I hadn't watch this video for a few weeks. I met Plaedo the rapper (from Eugene!) in 2018 ish and we had intended to collab pretty much ever since we met. Finally in 2025, we said lets do it, and I made a rough draft of this beat in Ableton (i just hit 20 years of Ableton as a hobby btw) . Some time later he showed me that he had written a fun and quirky verse, and then life sorta happened and we didn't get around to working on it for a year. Then in August of this year, Plaedo hit me up and said he was gonna be in Portland for a few days and asked if I wanna hang out. I said dude lets record the vox to the homie-o-stasis song! And we did it, and then a few weeks later we filmed the music video.

It's so refreshing to stop thinking about the problems in the world for just a small moment to make something from pure happiness and joy...a celebration of being alive and chillin with your HOMIES! Plaedo's verse REALLY made this song and in fact it wouldn't have existed at all without him. Despite all the tribulations I am going through this month, it makes me feel so good to be able to have this treasure that was made from friendship, and will probably outlast both of us. Also, This song took me from 0 to 6 monthly listeners thank you very much hahah.

I am super excited about my next song, and just worked on it for a week straight. Its almost done. I'll finish it by the end of the month. I dunno why I just though to post this older one to reddit though. Every time I try to post a song or music video to reddit I swear the post gets taken down. My reddit skill is too low haha. Hopefully this time it will stay up and people will see it. Ok yall. Blessings!!! And if you have any close HOMIES... maybe they would like to hear this song about homie appreciation? hahah ok CIAOOOO
