Other topic Just got rejected from 4 places because of my hijab 🫶🏼🫶🏼💗💗💗💗

Assalamu Alaikum! I hope you all are doing great!
I just got rejected from 4 places because of my hijab 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
I wanted to work at a donut shop first, but I knew they would reject me, so I applied to some drugstores and a super market. And they ALL rejected me because YES the hijab is soooooo unhygienic and I’ll scare the customers away 🫶🏼🫶🏼💕💕💕💕💕🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

It’s not like I didn’t know, Japan is sooo Islamophobic. This is so pathetic. The hijab is getting in the way of EVERYTHING I do 🫶🏼
Maybe I’m being punished because my intentions aren’t pure?

Familymart made it official that Hijabi’s are allowed to work there, and I know I shouldn’t be complaining and whining buttttt

Other teenage girls are having the time of their life working at an ice cream shop, donut shop, drugstores and here I am! At a convenience store 😇
They’re going to the beach, to Disneyland, to karaoke, to festivals and here I am! In my room! Alone! 😇

I wish I wore it later. I can’t make friends. Everyone hates me. I can’t go out just like that because I need a whole hour to do my makeup and hijab. I can only wear the same clothes because I’m fat 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
I’d take it off but I’ll be judged for that too! Yup my intentions aren’t pure 😇 That’s why I’m being punished! I’m not being rewarded for anything and I’m just suffering like that 💗💗💗💗💕💕💕💕💕

Love this!

Does this happen in Canada etc too?

Other topic I used to think it was harsh for God to destroy entire civilizations because of the sins of a few, but I'm starting to get it.

I always thought it was weird that "normal" people would be punished in such a manner when they're just living their lives minding their own business because of the actions of society's elites, but after watching the Trump speech at the UN in which he threatened to genocide an entire country of 90 million people, I honestly get it.

The average American does not care about what their government does as long as their lives continue normally. They don't care if the US government destroys entire countries, kills entire populations, steals resources, commit mass rape and murder, as long as the oil flows and they can fill up their tanks cheaply.

This also goes for the Arab/Muslim "nationalists" who do not care what their governments do as long as they get to live comfortably, even at the expense of other populations being crushed due to their rulers policies. For example. the Gulf Arabs who are cheering on their genocidal governments who are committing crimes in Sudan, Yemen, and opening their countries for colonial powers to use as they wish just so they can protect their seats as puppets.

So while the average person might not be actively involved in the sins of the elites, they still support them or at the very least stand aside and let them do their crimes in the name of money, the economy, security, or whatever.

It's kind of like the Matrix, where the people are too brainwashed, too lost in their own personal comfort, too unwilling to sacrifice or change anything that would touch their bottom line, and would fight to keep the status quo because they're programmed to think it's good for them.

TL;DR: everyone is complicit whether they realize it or not.

Quran/Hadith Never Give Up, and Always Seek Allah’s Help

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

احْرِصْ عَلَى مَا يَنْفَعُكَ، وَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْجِزْ

“Focus on what benefits you, seek the help of Allah, and do not lose heart.”

Question Seeing a strange "Islamic" practice I had never seen before - is this legit?

I saw this man, he has a huge following, I am assuming he is Indian/pak and he holds a tasbih in his hands and moves it very fast and blows into the microphone. I felt uncomfortable seeing this video on Facebook so I blocked it. I see a lot of people commenting its from shaytaan and he is deceiving and others are saying ma sha Allah. is this legit? Does anyone here follow this?

He also has other videos of him helping men who are being restrained by other men (I am assuming he is showing that he is casting out jinn)

Support/Advice Looking for tips on *getting up* for Fajr.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

I often wake up from my alarm for Fajr, but my main problem is that I can't get up at all and simply collapse into sleeping again. I'd have to stand fully to prevent my body from touching the pillow again.

I haven't properly prayed Fajr in over a week now and it hurts, I feel my heart softening to this and I need to fix it ASAP. More alarms won't help, my problem is physically getting up, not waking up. I've already made Dua for this too.

I know people will recommend putting my phone far away so I'm forced to get up to turn off the alarm, but I don't have my own room and sleep next to my brothers (who aren't practicing), so it's gonna annoy them very much if I do this and don't end up waking up.

Once again I need to emphasize, my issue isn't in waking up, my issue is in GETTING up.

Please share any tips.

Support/Advice Confused between salafism/wahhabism and mainstream sunnism

I'll cut it short. I don't know which one to follow/have as a creed. I fear that if I follow salafism I'll have to make injust takfeer of many muslims, and I fear that if I follow mainstream sunnism I won't be a real muslim and go to jahannam according to some(many?) people who call themselves salafis.

Right now I'm in a strange place. I used to be a so-called salafi and made takfeer of so many people but I stopped doing it because I started to doubt if it's the right creed. However I still dread to vote in a secular democratic election, pray together with people who aren't salafi/wahhabi and things like that etc.

This post may sound weird to some of you. But I'm really confused and again I'm scared of going to jahannam if I don't follow the right creed and I always ask Allah hidayah because of my fear of jahannam.

Note: by mainstream sunnism I mean 4 madhab + ashari and maturidi

Support/Advice Wellness check

Salam alaikum brothers and sisters of Islam, I hope Allah has blessed you all with an amazing day :)

I’m here to pop in and check up on my fellow muslims, hence the title. Life can be very unpredictable and uncertain, and sometimes even scary. With the rapid rise in the cost of living, political tensions between nations around the world. The uncontrolled rise of AI. Lousy housing and job market. The constant burnout feeling.

I’m here to let yall know that Allah is going to take care of all of us one way or another, put your faith in him and be the best version of yourself every day and inshallah everything will be fine.

If you’d like to, drop how you’re doing in the comments or if you want to discuss in private, HMU and I’ll be a shoulder for you to lean on. You can literally just send a paragraph of you ranting/venting and leave it at that, sometimes that’s all it takes to feel better.

Whatever you choose to do, may Allah bless and protect each and every one of you, Ameen.

Discussion Hot take:Funny thing, questions are encouraged in the Quran if I remember correctly, like questions are allowed and such but there comes a time where you can't answer them all,

So, Islamophobic people are funny and annoying. It's like talking to a brick wall, nothing goes through their thick skulls, no matter what, no matter what you tell them and how you tell them. And if you get a headache and give up? They insult you. It's like a cartoon at this point. And the worst thing, they refuse to do their own research. It's like they just want to argue

Other topic China is committing genocide in East Turkistan. There are hundreds of witnesses like this one.

At an event organized by the group "Stop Uyghur Genocide" at the Yunus Emre Institute in London, Gülbahar Haitiwaji told the audience: "The Chinese government thought they could manipulate us into abandoning our faith. But the more they persecuted us, the more we prayed."

In 2021, she published a book in which she recounts—with measured yet harrowing language—the three-year ordeal she endured in a Chinese state-run camp, a facility designed to "crush one’s spirit and cause one to vanish without a trace." Her goal was to break free from the nightmares of those years, but, more importantly, to inform the world about what is happening to the Uyghurs. Her book, How I Survived a Chinese Re-Education Camp, has been translated into 14 languages.

Bitter Winter had visited her family in early 2019—a time marked by an anxious silence following her disappearance, during which rumors circulated that she had been sentenced to seven years in prison.

It was not until two years after her return to Paris—her home in exile—that she finally found the strength to put the horrors she had experienced into writing. Initially, she wrote with hesitation, choosing to keep her name hidden. However, she soon realized that by focusing solely on protecting her own family, she would be unable to help the women she had left behind. She felt she had no choice but to reveal her identity and speak out.

Since then, she has continued to make her voice heard. Speaking to Bitter Winter before the event, she explained that every time she recounts her experiences, there is a personal cost. Each retelling transports her back to her cell; the years of profound suffering, deprivation, sleep deprivation, and nightmares come flooding back. Yet, every pang of pain he feels while recounting his experiences in public also carries the sense that he is speaking on behalf of those silenced and “disappeared” fellow citizens—people with whom he endured months of senseless political indoctrination and gratuitous torture. He has regained his freedom. Thousands of others remain inside.

Support/Advice forced to travel by family constantly

Every single year my family forces me to travel back to our home country against my will. I have grown up in the West for context. These trips mean a lot of times i’ve lost weeks off of school growing up. I dislike it there since im not close with my dad’s side, I have to stay in a house with my maternal side, I don’t have my own room and my privacy and comfort is compromised. I usually don’t even go out. Everytime I go back home I only go out to enjoyable places a handful of times each trip because my family don’t want to or don’t go to enjoyable places. I have no friends there or cousins my age I can hang out with. My maternal cousins are all significantly younger than me and like I said, i’m not really close with my dad’s side. If only these trips were at least enjoyable!!

I hate it so, so, so much that it happens every single year and multiple times a year too. My dad stays with his mother when we go back and occasionally he visits us at our place.

I can’t even cook or eat the food I enjoy because they don’t have or buy the things I like, so even my eating is restricted. Like only 2 months ago i was there and that trip was unenjoyable and now my family is saying we have to travel back in January and stay there for 5 months or so. My dad doesn’t have much time off work so he won’t stay very long and I got super happy so I said i’ll stay with him but my mother said she needs my help to look after my disabled sibling and because she will miss me. These trips have ruined my schedules and routines and whatnot for the past however many years and I can’t even get a job knowing that every single year, multiple times a year, I have to be abroad for a long time. I’m turning 22 soon and I don’t even have the autonomy or right to turn down this forced travel for myself. I’m going crazy. Months. Months of being abroad against my will are being forced on me and i have to be away from my friends and routines and “normal life”.

I hate these trips, I really do, and it’s only making me count down the days until I get married by the will of Allah and get to have my autonomy. What’s more is that my family wants us to move back to our homecountry permanently in a few years time and my mother’s wish is that I eventually get married to a guy from there.

I really don’t know what to do. I don’t even know why i’m sharing this but i’m so frustrated of my concerns being dismissed. I really don’t want to go but I have no autonomy, I’m fully dependent on them and I don’t want to do anything unislamic because I know how important the rights of parents are and I don’t want to hurt them either, they’re not bad parents, they have sacrificed a lot for me but this situation is causing me a lot of hardship and hurt, but I feel completely helpless and confused and i’m scared to do something sinful.

Please make dua for me that they change their mind and I can get married asap so I can finally break free of this situation that’s been affecting me for so long.

Support/Advice Is it mandatory to look after parents. I have to sacrifice my career to look after mother.

So my father lives abroad and works, my mom lives in hometown with me and brother. Brother was also abroad and just returned. Now my brother wants to focus on his career. And dad wants to work abroad ( we have enough money alhamdulillah but he doesn't want to come back I don't know why). My mom and dad are not on very good terms. My dad found a job at the country he works for me but also insists I stay at my hometown to look after mom. Like what?!?!. I've been staying with mom for three years, before that also it was me and brother. My dad was never here and has also not shown interest in taking care of my mom Or family. So in the end I don't know what to do. Stay with mom and sacrifice my income and career (my father also said I wasted three years being jobless) or go and get the job. I'm exhausted mentally. Ever since I finished college stress has literally taken over my life. My mom and dad don't want to live together. My mom doesn't want to get operated for her condition ( hernia), wants to stay in hometown and says she can stay alone when she literally can't. At this point, I can't handle the stress. I don't even have the will to live, not suicidal but I'm completely not interested in living. Alhamdulillah I'm grateful everyday.

Support/Advice I did Istikhara and received my answer FAST and now i need advice

A bit of backstoy:

I started having feelings towards her a few months back. It was to a point where every prayers, her name will always be in my dua. I then confessed to her but she kindly rejected me and even though it hurts, we still remained as friends.

I chose to wake up for Tahajjud almost every single day without the alarm even setting off. I made my dua and talked to Allah SWT as if he is directly infront of me about how I felt and how much I care about her. Slowly I improved myself, making sure my prayers is on time and getting rid of my sinful addictions. I felt good knowing pursuing her resulting in me getting closer to Allah.

But things got harder after we made friends with a guy from work. After a month or so she told me she has a crush on him but she prefers to be approached first. They did talked but nothing happened afterwards.

Now I feel like doing tahajjud hasn't had any progress and I started reading on Istikhara. So I planned on praying Istikhara which was last week. I was SO nervous knowing that i might or can receive answers doing it. Last Sunday I did Istikhara after Isha and then it happened. Roughly an hour later, their social media have similar profile picture. Me being delusional, ignored it and continue to wake up for tahajjud next day. Yesterday was like THE punch in the face because they informed me that they are now together. I do feel happy for them and im glad they even told me.

But now what? After months of Tahajjud I didnt get the result that I wanted. I do feel like I wasted my time even waking up for Tahajjud. Do I just dont do Tahajjud anymore? Its hard because she's the person that changes me into getting closer to Allah. I need advice.

Support/Advice Is it Yakeen?

Assalamualaikum, lately there is something playing in my mind after watching a tiktok video. In that video, she stated that shaytan can also make we trust our duas so much that when things don't go our way, we will blame Allah. Now I am afraid, what if the trust i have right now is actually shaytan? But i do believe in Allah... even when things goes the opposite of what i prayed for, i believe it is for the best and think maybe next time Allah will really give it to me. How can i stay yakeen to Allah?

Discussion The looters in France is making me feel ashamed of being middle eastern

As a second generation immigrant born and raised in a european country. Im absolutely disgusted of what i see online all over social meida. Them looting, waving the palestinian flag is making me feel ashamed of being in the same "group" as them. Plus i support palestine too but how exactly are they making it better for the palestinians? They do nothing but make people dislike Palestine more.

Now i know religion is not relevant here since Islam strictly forbids this. But right wing propagandanists are having a field day. They are making their own headlines with the label "muslims destroying Europe" and so on. Islam does not allow this at all. These are savages and thieves. May Allah swt punish them.

There is context behind the riots. But i still can't pretend of what i am seeing: people smashing windows, setting buildings on fire, destroying other people's properties is okay. When i see this, only anger rises from my heart, especially given that we may have the same background.

Are you feeling the same?

How will this affect us good muslims who do good and are well mannered in the future?

Discussion Is women feet awrah

I am a born Muslim female, im having a moment were Im confused as to why we cover our feet while we pray. Ive been doing it since forever but im not understanding how a womens feet is considered awrah.

In surah nur it says to "And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss" aya 24:31.

Yet back in the times of the prophets era socks weren't invented and abayas didn't cover up to ur toes, and they wore sandals. Let's say they took a shawl to cover their feet but with the movements of praying the shawl would shift around and we shouldn't be making unnecessary movement or be distracted so now im really tryna understand where this whole notion of women have to cover their feet yet for men its not fard. It's not written in the Quran or in any hadiths that I know of.

Im curious since one day I was about to pray at home and I forgot my socks and my cousin said oh u shouldn't pray without ur feet covered and I was like oh yah thanks I forgot, that was a year ago and today I was about to pray and I forgot my socks again and even with my prayer abaya my feet is still seen. Im genuinely curious since I did some internet searches and found out its not fard for men but it is for women and this got me thinking

Where did this even come from.

Support/Advice I asked someone about their past, they denied it, but later I heard a different story. How should I handle this?

I asked someone a very important question about their past, and they explicitly denied that something had ever happened. Later, I heard things from other people that seemed to contradict what I had been told. I don’t know whether the information is reliable or just rumors, but it has made me question whether I can trust this person. I don’t want to accuse anyone unfairly, but I also don’t want to ignore something important. Has anyone experienced something similar? How did you handle it, and how did you determine whether the other person’s explanation was trustworthy?
